Notre Dame at Georgia Tech odds, picks and predictions

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (5-2) welcome the No. 11 Notre Dame Fighting Irish (5-1) to Mercedez-Benz Stadium Saturday. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. ET (ESPN). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s college football odds around the Notre Dame vs. Georgia Tech odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

Notre Dame is No. 11 in the US LBM Coaches Poll. It is coming off a 49-7 home win over the Stanford Cardinal, closing as a 22.5-point favorite. The Fighting Irish have rattled off 4 straight wins with their most impressive being a 31-24 home win over the Louisville Cardinals, where they closed as a 6.5-point favorite. The Fighting Irish’s lone loss was a 16-14 home defeat to Northern Illinois.

Georgia Tech opened its season with a stunning 24-21 neutral-field win over the Florida State Seminoles. Since that battle, they have signature wins by 10 over Duke and by 7 over North Carolina but have lost to Louisville and Syracuse. Both of those games were on the road. The Yellow Jackets are 3-0 at home and 2-0-1 against the spread (ATS) in those games. Their defense has struggled over the last few weeks, allowing 30-plus points in 2 of their last 3 games.

Notre Dame at Georgia Tech picks and predictions

Prediction

Notre Dame 27, Georgia Tech 20

Moneyline

PASS.

There’s no good value on the moneyline. The Fighting Irish are too sizable of a favorite to take here, and they are playing too well to assume the Yellow Jackets can pull off the upset. Look to the spread for value.

Against the spread

BET GEORGIA TECH +14 (-115).

The Yellow Jackets have exceeded expectations, both throughout the season, and more specifically at home. They are undefeated at home and have yet to not cover a spread. Georgia Tech has not been a home underdog this season and is 1-1 ATS as an underdog overall. It has won 2 straight ACC games and put up 65 points in those.

Notre Dame has won consistently, but it hasn’t played on the road since Week 3. It is 1-2 ATS in games where it has closed as a double-digit favorite as well. Considering those trends, take GEORGIA TECH +14 (-115).

Over/Under

BET UNDER 49.5 (-110).

The Notre Dame defense is a strong unit, having allowed single digits in 3 of its last 4 games. The Fighting Irish have gone Under in 2 of 3 games they were double-digit favorites and have given up just 26 points in those games combined.

Georgia Tech has had a similar story. It has allowed 21 or fewer in 4 of 7 games and is 2-5 O/U on the season. The Yellow Jackets are 0-2 O/U as an underdog and 1-2 O/U at home. With that in mind, play UNDER 49.5 (-110).

Stanford at Notre Dame odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Stanford at Notre Dame odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The Stanford Cardinal (2-3, 1-2 ACC) take on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish (4-1) at Notre Dame Stadium Saturday. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. ET (NBC). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s college football odds around the Stanford vs. Notre Dame odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

Stanford has walked the gauntlet with a 40-14 loss to the Clemson Tigers and last week’s 31-7 loss to the Virginia Tech Hokies. Now they’re facing another tough team in the Irish. The Cardinal failed to cover as 9-point and 24-point dogs over the last 2 weeks. QB Justin Lamson was 13-for-24 for 103 yards, 0 TDs and 1 INT and rushed 19 times for 36 yards last week. The Cardinal received good news that starting QB Ashton Daniels will return from injury to start this game.

Notre Dame, No. 12 in the US LBM Coaches Pollnarrowly covered as 6.5-point faves with a 31-24 victory over Louisville last week. They’ve been really good when not favored by 20 or more as they’re 3-0 ATS in shorter situations and 0-2 in 20+ situations. QB Riley Leonard did it all, going 17-for-23 through the air for 163 yards, 2 TDs and 0 INTs and rushing 13 times for 52 yards and 1 TD – all of which led the team last week.

  • Against the spread (ATS): Stanford +23.5 (-110) | Notre Dame -23.5 (-110)
  • Over/Under (O/U): 45.5 (O: -110 | U: -110)

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4132″ ]

Stanford at Notre Dame picks and predictions

Prediction

Notre Dame 31, Stanford 21

Moneyline

I think Notre Dame will roll, but Stanford took down a formidable Syracuse team on the road as 9-point dogs. With Daniels back under center, the offense will have more stability to keep 8 out of the box on the running game.

So PASS here and peep the spread.

Against the spread

As mentioned, I like Notre Dame to win, but I’m just as confident in STANFORD +23.5 (-110). It’s expected to be cloudy with a slight chance of rain, which would give me even more confidence in Stanford’s ability to hang within 4 scores. Notre Dame is 0-2 ATS when favored by double-digits this year.

Over/Under

Stanford is just 1-4 O/U this year, and Notre Dame is 2-3. The Irish just has not exhibited that extra gear on offense this year. This total is too low, though. The Irish had an even 45 last week and cashed it. The OVER 45.5 (-110) hits in this one.

Louisville at Notre Dame odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Louisville at Notre Dame odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The No. 17 Louisville Cardinals (3-0) take on the No. 14 Notre Dame Fighting Irish (3-1) at Notre Dame Stadium Saturday. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. ET (Peacock). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s college football odds around the Louisville vs. Notre Dame odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

Louisville, or “Lull-vul”, however you pronounce it, is No. 17 in the US LBM Coaches Poll after taking down Georgia Tech 31-19 as a 9.5-point fave Sept. 21. QB Tyler Shough was 13-for-19 for 269 yards, 2 TDs and 0 INTs. The Cardinals managed just 57 yards on the ground but were able to remain efficient on offense.

The Fighting Irish, No. 14 in the US LBM Coaches Poll, failed to cover as 27-point favorites in a 28-3 laugher against Miami (Ohio) last week. QB Riley Leonard said he was going to do it himself. He went 16-for-25 for 154 yards, 1 TD and 0 INTs. He also rushed 12 times for 143 yards and 2 TDs.

Louisville at Notre Dame picks and predictions

Prediction

Notre Dame 21, Louisville 17

Moneyline

There is a lot of rain coming through the midwest from Hurricane Helene. So keep that in mind when placing bets this weekend.

Because of potentially soggy conditions, Notre Dame has a big-time advantage being at home with a better running game. Player props weren’t available at press time, and ND is too expensive.

PASS.

Against the spread

While I am confident Notre Dame wins this one, Louisville has the talent to beat it. The problem is its attack is through the air, and when weather presents itself, how is that going to translate?

I think this spread is too high, and LOUISVILLE +7 (-110) is the way to turn here.

Over/Under

Louisville is 2-1 O/U, and Notre Dame is 1-3 on the year. Notre Dame’s 1 Over cash came in a game it scored 66 points. The Under is 3-1 in the last 4 meetings between the schools, and with weather looming, there is more leverage to the UNDER 44.5 (-110).

Miami (Ohio) at Notre Dame odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Miami at Notre Dame odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Miami (Ohio) Redhawks (0-2) and Notre Dame Fighting Irish (2-1) meet for a Week 4 contest Saturday in South Bend. The opening kickoff at Notre Dame Stadium will be at 3:30 p.m. (NBC/Peacock). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s college football odds around Miami vs. Notre Dame odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

Miami makes the 230-mile trip to Notre Dame coming off a 27-16 Week 3 loss to the Cincinnati Bearcats. The Redhawks are continuing a tough stretch to open their season. They played at Northwestern in Week 1 (13-6 loss) and were idle in Week 2.

Notre Dame is No. 18 in US LBM Coaches Poll, and the Irish acted accordingly with a 66-7 triumph at the Purdue Boilermakers last Saturday. The bounce-back win after a bad loss to Northern Illinois in Week 2 saw UND outgain the Boilermakers 580 yards to 162.

Miami at Notre Dame picks and predictions

Prediction

Notre Dame 35, Miami 6

Moneyline

No interest here: AVOID.

Against the spread

Notre Dame is 5-1 ATS in its last 6 games. Of course the loss was to Mid-American Conference foe Northern Illinois 2 weeks back, and UND has had issues with favored-big-at-home contests against group-of-5 foes the last few years.

But don’t count on this MAC team, as currently constituted, to spring a September surprise on the Fighting Irish. The Redhawks have struggled mightily on offense. Their losses to Northwestern and Cincinnati were not by expansive margins, but MU was in no way a real threat to win either game because of myriad troubles on offense.

The Miami defense is solid, but sans the visitors logging a plus-3 in turnovers its difficult to see a game flow here — even with a low total — whereby the Redhawks could be within 3 scores late.

Look for Notre Dame to out-talent Miami, especially in the big-play department. Expect the Irish to have a big edge in red-zone spots at both ends. BET THE FIGHTING IRISH -28 (-110). But consider making this a partial-unit play unless the spread falls below 28.

Over/Under

Since last season, the Under has cashed in 7 strait Miami games.

The Miami defense is a strength. Notre Dame will likely want to establish more of a running game in this one, ice the game and move on to Louisville week. It figures last week’s scoring explosion fully exercise the demons of the NIU loss. The Irish may not have an appetite — or strategic need — to go for the jugular against Miami coach Chuck Martin, a former offensive coordinator at UND.

Again, the lean is small here. Consider a partial-unit play on the UNDER 43.5 (-110).

Miami and Notre Dame are tangling on the gridiron for just a 3rd time. The Irish downed the then-Redskins 46-0 in 1909 and then topped Miami 52-17 in 2017. Both games were in South Bend.

In the 2017 meeting, Notre Dame covered a -21 spread, and the Over hit on a total of 53.5.

The Irish are 10-1 all-time vs. schools currently in the Mid-American Conference. UND’s lone loss came 2 weeks back in the 16-14 home loss to NIU.

Notre Dame at Purdue odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Notre Dame at Purdue odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish (1-1) travel to meet the Purdue Boilermakers (1-0) Saturday at Ross-Ade Stadium in West Lafayette, Ind. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET (CBS/Paramount+). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s college football odds around the Notre Dame vs. Purdue odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

The Fighting Irish tumbled from No. 7 to No. 19 in the Coaches Poll after a stunning loss at home to Northern Illinois of the MAC last weekend. Notre Dame suffered the embarrassing 16-14 loss as a 28-point favorite, the biggest upset of the 2024 college football season so far.

The Irish have managed 18.5 points per game (PPG), while allowing 14.5 PPG, cashing the Under in each outing, while splitting 1-1 against the spread (ATS).

Purdue has played just once, routing FCS Indiana State 49-0 at Ross-Ade on Aug. 31, covering as a 35-point favorite. There isn’t a lot to glean from a beatdown of an FCS team, although the Boilermakers did take care of business, while allowing just 104 rushing yards, and 50 passing yards, while winning via rout despite a minus-1 turnover ratio.

The Boilermakers had 248 yards on the ground, and 335 yards through the air, while getting to the quarterback for 3 sacks. Purdue had 11 penalties for 110 yards, an area it must clean up.

Notre Dame leads this series 57-26-2, and it hasn’t lost to Purdue since 2007, officially winning 6 straight in the series. Wins in 2012-13 were vacated.

Notre Dame at Purdue picks and predictions

Prediction

Notre Dame 23, Purdue 19

Moneyline

Notre Dame (-300) is a super risky play going on the road after a major upset last weekend. However, it’s hard to imagine that the Fighting Irish didn’t have a hellish week of practice, working on all of the things it needs to correct, and then some.

QB Riley Leonard was a disaster against NIU, and the jury is still out on whether he can be the guy. In addition, he suffered an injury to his non-throwing shoulder against the Huskies, so there is doubt he can even go. Either QBs Steve Angeli or CJ Carr would start, if Leonard can’t start.

If we saw more than 1 game from Purdue (+240), and it was a good win over an FBS team, not a dress rehearsal against an FCS foe, we might have more confidence suggesting an upset.

PASS.

Against the spread

Back PURDUE +7.5 (-110) with the 7 and a hook. In fact, that half-point might come in super handy. We don’t know much about the Boilermakers, but what we saw was impressive.

However, Notre Dame -7.5 (-110) just cannot be trusted. Not only did it lose last week to a MAC team as a favorite of 4 TDs, but the Fighting Irish have questions under center, whether Leonard is able to play or not.

Over/Under

UNDER 47.5 (-110) is worth a look.

The Boilermakers pitched a shutout against its 1st opponent, albeit a lower-division school, while the Fighting Irish have had problems generating offense. Notre Dame has looked pretty good defensively against Texas A&M and NIU, though, and if it rebounds this week, it will be because it leaned into its D.

The Northern Illinois Huskies (1-0) and Notre Dame Fighting Irish (1-0) meet Saturday. Kickoff from Notre Dame Stadium is set for 3:30 p.m. ET (NBC/Peacock). Below, we analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Northern Illinois vs. Notre Dame odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

Northern Illinois stomped the Western Illinois Leathernecks 54-14 Saturday while covering as a 35.5-point favorite. QB Ethan Hampton completed a remarkable 18 of 20 passes for 328 yards and 5 TDs in the win. The Huskies totaled 706 yards of offense.

Notre Dame, which is No. 7 in the US LBM Coaches Poll, beat the No. 20 Texas A&M Aggies 23-13 Saturday while covering as a 3-point underdog. The Irish forced 2 turnovers and committed none themselves. Notre Dame scored 10 unanswered points in the final 2 minutes of the game to break a 13-13 tie.

Northern Illinois at Notre Dame picks and predictions

Prediction

Notre Dame 42, Northern Illinois 10

Moneyline

PASS.

Notre Dame will come away with the win as a -7000 favorite, but this line is set far too heavily to risk betting on. Bet the spread and/or O/U instead.

Against the spread

BET NOTRE DAME -27.5 (-114).

Notre Dame is the far better and more proven team, and its defense will make life very difficult for NIU. Look for the Fighting Irish to dominate the Huskies, as they are riding hot after picking up a big win in their season opener.

This bet is slightly risky just because of the potential potency of NIU’s offense.

Over/Under

BET OVER 44.5 (-115).

Northern Illinois is a team that is led by its offense, and while it will not see as much success vs. the Irish, the Huskies still have the potential to put up points. Notre Dame has a very capable offense itself, so the Over is a safe bet here.

Notre Dame has a very good defense that will make life tough on this Huskies offense, but with a total as low as 44.5, the Over is still very attainable, as the Irish should be able to get whatever they want offensively.

Notre Dame at Texas A&M odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Notre Dame at Texas A&M odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Texas A&M Aggies are set for a Saturday tussle in College Station. Kickoff at Kyle Field is set for 7:30 p.m. ET (ABC). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Notre Dame vs. Texas A&M odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

Notre Dame is No. 7 in the US LBM Coaches Poll. The Irish went 10-3 last season. Coach Marcus Freeman returns for his 3rd full season, and he’s added some help for his offense. QB Riley Leonard transferred in from Duke, and former LSU offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock now has that same gig in South Bend.

With this contest at Kyle Field, the coach Mike Elko era begins for 20th-ranked Texas A&M. Elko replaces Jimbo Fisher after the Aggies went 7-6 last season and 9-12 since Oct. 1, 2022. The new bench boss in College Station should have a healthy Conner Weigman at quarterback (he missed the last 9 games in 2023 with a foot injury) and a potentially dominant defensive line.

Notre Dame at Texas A&M picks and predictions

Prediction

Notre Dame 27, Texas A&M 24

Moneyline

There’s good value with Notre Dame (+125), but I’m going with the advantage of taking the points with the spread below.

Against the spread

Notre Dame is 5-1 ATS over its last 6 games; the Irish are 5-2 ATS across their last 7 Week 1 games. The Aggies are 1-6-1 ATS over their last 8.

An inexperienced Notre Dame offensive line vs. a strong front-7 for the Aggies figures as a key matchup here. But the Irish figure to have a talent edge just about everywhere else.

A program edge: The Irish are not in flux, the Aggies are.

Look for the new coordinators to scheme this one up and for a score that spirals past the total with the Fighting Irish in front.

BACK NOTRE DAME +3 (-115).

Betting the Irish ML (+125) isn’t terrible. Just don’t wager more than 1.1 UNITS between the 2 options, the -Irish  moneyline and their +3 spread (-115).

Over/Under

Too much attention is often paid to the Irish defense. The Over has hit in 6 straight Notre Dame games.

On a good weather/good field day, look for the offenses to be quick and in command throughout the bulk of this one. BACK OVER 47 (-110).

Notre Dame at North Carolina odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Tuesday’s Notre Dame at North Carolina odds and lines, with college basketball expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish (12-17, 7-11 ACC) and North Carolina Tar Heels (23-6, 15-3) meet Tuesday at the Dean E. Smith Center in Chapel Hill, N.C. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET (ACC Network). Below, we analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Notre Dame vs. North Carolina odds, and make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and best bets.

The Fighting Irish are playing their best basketball of the season, posting back-to-back wins, and victories in 5 of the past 6 outings. Notre Dame has tied a season best with 4 straight covers, too, while going 5-1 against the spread (ATS) across the previous 6 contests.

This is the 1st meeting since Feb. 22, 2023, when UNC picked up a 63-59 win in South Bend, although the Irish earned the cover as 6-point underdogs. UNC has won 8 of the past 10 in the series, but the Irish are 3-2 ATS in the past 5 meetings, with the Over going 3-1 in the past 4 in the series.

The Tar Heels have picked up 4 straight wins since Feb. 13, a 86-79 loss at Syracuse. UNC has failed to cover the past 2 outings, both as a double-digit favorite. The Under has cashed in 3 consecutive contests.

North Carolina is No. 7 in the USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll.

Notre Dame at North Carolina picks and predictions

Prediction

North Carolina 73, Notre Dame 61

Moneyline

North Carolina (-2000) will cost you 20 times your potential return, and that’s obviously way too much risk and not enough reward. In fact, for every $100 risked, you would make just $5 of profit.

Even as part of a multi-team parlay, there is just no sense including UNC as part of your ticket.

PASS.

Against the spread

NOTRE DAME +15.5 (-114) is a strong play catching more than 15 points.

The Fighting Irish have covered 4 in a row, and 5 of the past 6 games, and it is a solid 6-2 ATS in the previous 8 as an underdog of 9.5 or more points.

North Carolina -15.5 (-106) cannot be trusted. UNC has failed to cover as a double-digit favorite in its last 2 games, while going just 2-5 ATS in the previous 7 games since Feb. 6. At home, it is just 4-5 ATS in 9 conference battles this season.

Over/Under

UNDER 137.5 (-105) is a little on the low side, but it’s a solid play.

The total went low last time out for the Fighting Irish against Clemson in a 69-62 win as the Under (132.5) just came through. The Under is 2-1 in the past 3 games on the road, too.

For the Tar Heels, the Under has cashed in 3 in a row, while going 4-3 in the past 7 conference games at the Dean Dome, too.

Pittsburgh at Notre Dame odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Pittsburgh at Notre Dame odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Pittsburgh Panthers (2-5) and Notre Dame Fighting Irish (6-2) meet Saturday at Notre Dame Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET (NBC). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Pittsburgh vs. Notre Dame odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

The Panthers are coming off a 21-17 loss at Wake Forest last Saturday. However, Pitt showed it can still be dangerous, and explosive, topping Louisville by a 38-21 count at Acrisure Stadium as a 7-point underdog. It’s the same Cardinals team which topped the Fighting Irish 33-20 the week before.

Notre Dame rebounded from that setback at Louisville on Oct. 7 with a 48-20 humbling of USC in the shadows of Touchdown Jesus. The Irish have a lone setback on the home ledger, falling to Ohio State on the final play of regulation on Sept. 23, although the Irish covered that game. In fact, Notre Dame is 3-1 against the spread (ATS) at home this season, with the lone non-cover a 41-17 win over Central Michigan on Sept. 16.

Notre Dame is No. 14 in the US LBM Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports.

Pittsburgh at Notre Dame picks and predictions

Prediction

Notre Dame 31, Pittsburgh 13

Moneyline

Notre Dame (-1400) is way too expensive to bet straight up or as part of a multi-team parlay.

AVOID, and look to the spread instead.

Against the spread

PITTSBURGH +20.5 (-110) is worth a look catching nearly 3 touchdowns, although be careful. This Panthers offense has been moribund most of the season, going for just 320.4 total yards per game, and 111.1 rushing yards per contest. However, it did top Louisville, a team which beat Notre Dame -20.5 (-110).

The Panthers have a pretty solid defense, ranking 27th in the nation with just 195.3 opponent passing yards per game, so they should be able to hold QB Sam Hartman down somewhat, keeping the Irish within hailing distance.

Over/Under

UNDER 45.5 (-110) is the lean. Pitt has scored 21 or fewer points in 4 of the past 6 games, including all 3 road games this season. The Panthers are averaging a paltry 14.7 PPG in those 3 away contests.

The Irish have cashed the Under in 3 of the past 4 games, and the lone Over is against USC’s atrocious defense. The Panthers might not be great offensively, but they can be a pesky defense, especially against the pass.
