Texas has made the top 10 for 2022 outside linebacker Jalon Walker. A four-star prospect on the 247Sports composite, the Longhorns are the only Big 12 school to make the cut.
Arizona State, Auburn, Clemson, Georgia, LSU, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Ohio State, and Texas A&M have also made Walker’s top 10.
Walker is the No. 2 overall outside linebacker in the 2022 class according to the 247Sports composite. Nationally, he ranks No. 41 and is also the No. 2 player in the state of North Carolina.
Receiving 24 offers overall, big-time schools such as South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia Tech were cut.
Texas offered Walker back in May, giving him his one and only offer from a Big 12 school. Although Tom Herman prefers to recruit in-state prospects, he has begun to go after elite out-of-state players in the 2022 class.
As things stand, five-star quarterback Quinn Ewers and four-star wide receiver Phaizon Wilson make up Texas’ 2022 class. The Longhorns will be looking to coupe the best recruiting year Herman has had since being hired in 2017.
Thankful and Blessed for all opportunities given but these are my Top 🔟! Edit:@Hayesfawcett3 (No Order) pic.twitter.com/bTPopAygCC

It seems as if Ohio State is making the strongest push for Walker right now. The Buckeyes already have commitments from three linebackers in their 2022 class, including five-star Gabe Powers, four-star Dasan McCullough, and four-star C.J. Hicks.
