The Los Angeles Lakers have been arguably the NBA’s most disappointing team relative to expectations entering the season. Los Angeles had title hopes coming into the season but have fallen short of that lofty goal, as they currently sit at 28-35, good for ninth place in the Western Conference. One of the more frustrating players on the Lakers has been guard Russell Westbrook, who was acquired via a trade this past offseason. Westbrook has often been booed by fans, which isn’t a surprising reaction considering the passion of some fans. However, sometimes, fans take it too far, which is exactly what happened with Westbrook and his family. Westbrook received some ‘death wishes’ from fans. The All-Star guard’s wife Nina sounded off on such fans with emotional messages on Twitter.

Russell Westbrook’s wife reveals she has been sent obscenities and death threats

Nina Westbrook shares sweet video of Russell teaching their children

In the viral video, Westbrook teaches colors to his twin daughters, Skye and Jordan. He notes that red (like the Rockets) is his favorite.

In an ideal world, Houston Rockets star Russell Westbrook would probably still be at the Disney World “bubble” in Florida, since that would mean that his team had advanced to the NBA Finals.

But even with his team’s playoff run ending sooner than he would have liked, the 31-year-old is clearly still enjoying his time.

In a viral video recently shared by his wife, Nina, Westbrook can be seen teaching colors to his twin daughters, Skye and Jordan. The twin girls were born in November 2018 — approximately 18 months after the couple’s son, Noah Russell Westbrook, was born in May 2017.

With three toddlers at home, Westbrook certainly isn’t bored during his NBA offseason. In the video, the nine-time NBA All-Star and 2017 MVP gets visibly excited when he helps his girls correctly identify the colors.

Consider it yet another assist for Westbrook, who happens to rank No. 14 in NBA history in that category.

When the color “red” is brought up, Westbrook — wearing a Rockets shirt and red shorts — informs his daughters that red is his favorite color. Red, of course, is the color most associated with Houston’s NBA franchise.

Both Nina and Russell Westbrook played basketball at UCLA, where they first met. Years later, they married in August 2015. They still live in Los Angeles, which is where Russell will largely be until training camp begins for the 2020-21 season. That date has not yet been set.

Los Angeles native Russell Westbrook …

Los Angeles native Russell Westbrook joined Good Morning America via Skype from his home to discuss how he and his wife Nina have joined forces with Mayor Eric Garcetti’s office through their Why Not? Foundation to launch the Angeleno Campaign. “[I’m] finding ways to be able to bring all of us together, and if that’s the push-up challenge with your kid on your back, I think we should all try it and kind of see what happens,” he said with a laugh. “My son’s pretty big and pretty heavy, but we managed it.”
