Masters: Shoes Nike players will be wearing at Augusta National in 2021

See the Nike footwear, designed using recycled materials, that players like Rory McIlroy, Tony Finau and Jason Day will wear at the Masters.

While Nike’s most iconic golfer, Tiger Woods, is not going to be competing next week at the 2021 Masters, plenty of other big-name players who wear Nike footwear are going to be in the field. Golfers like Rory McIlroy, Tony Finau, Jason Day and others will be at Augusta National Golf Club trying to win the year’s first men’s major championship.

While Nike is not officially making any Masters-themed footwear, the company does have new colorways that will be featured by its athletes starting next week. Collectively, they are being called Nike’s Masters NRG Pack, but individually they are the Air Zoom Victory Tour 2 NRG, Air Max 90 G NRG and the Air Zoom Infinity Tour NRG.

The uppers in all the shoes are made from 100 percent recycled canvas, which gives them a raw, rougher look and feel. The lace loops and the canvas on the tongue are also made from 100 percent recycled materials.

Tiger Woods wears Nike TW20 Frank Edition shoes at The Match: Champions for Charity

The 15-time major winner wore prototype Nike golf shoes while playing with Phil Mickelson, Peyton Manning and Tom Brady.

Golf fans have seen Frank, Tiger Woods’ driver headcover, on top of the 15-time major winner’s bag since the mid-1990s. Frank also has appeared on t-shirts, polo shirts and hats. Commercials shot in 2003 and 2004 that feature Frank, voiced by Paul Giamatti, still get clicks on YouTube.

Frank was in a new spot Sunday, but you had to know where to look.

Woods had worn Nike Zoom TW71 shoes earlier this year, but when he was paired with Peyton Manning against Tom Brady and Phil Mickelson, Woods wore a prototype pair of TW20 Frank Edition shoes for The Match: Champions for Charity at the Medalist.

The black shoes featured a likeness of Frank on the back, and the Nike swoosh logo was decorated with orange and black stripes. The shoes appeared to be fitted with the same Champ Pro Stinger steel spikes that Woods uses on the PGA Tour.

Woods has used several styles of golf shoes throughout his career, ranging from rigid, traditional golf shoes to flexible, running shoe-inspired footwear. The TW20 Frank Edition appears to be quite flexible, and having played through heavy rain Sunday, let’s hope it is waterproof.

If you are interested in trying the TW20 Frank Edition, you will need to wait. Nike said the shoes will not be available at retail in 2020.

Just like the basketball shoes, the Jordan golf shoes typically sell out quickly when they are released, with golf lovers and sneakerheads snapping up the shoes in a flash. If you are looking for Jordan 3, Jordan XI Concords or the Jordan 13s, happy hunting. But your chance to get a pair of Jordan golf shoes comes again on Friday, Feb. 28 at 10 a.m. Eastern when Nike releases the Jordan 5 Low golf shoes. They will be $220 a pair on Nike’s website.

According to Nike, the look of the original Jordan 5 Low basketball shoe was inspired by fighter jets. The new golf version keeps the same look, with a translucent outsole and the mid-sole has fang-like shapes that harken back to vintage planes.
