The Georgia Bulldogs are likely set to hire famous Alabama Crimson Tide strength coach Scott Cochran. Cochran, a key staffer under Nick Saban, is expected to have an on-field coaching position when he joins UGA. Cecil Hurt and Bruce Feldman reported the news:
Scott Cochran, the longtime strength and conditioning coach for @AlabamaFTBL is expected — barring a last-minute change — to leave UA for an on-field coaching position at Georgia per sources. More to come at @tidesports

If the news holds true, then it is a big development for Kirby Smart and Georgia. Cochran is considered an essential part of Alabama’s powerhouse program:
Scott Cochran might be the biggest hit to a Nick Saban Alabama staff we have seen. Massive loss. Goes much further than Strength & Conditioning.

Kirby Smart initially tried to get Cochran to join his staff in Athens when Georgia hired him. Nick Saban and Alabama lured Cochran to stay at home. Now, Cochran will have an on-field position at UGA, where he’ll hope to make a similar impact on the program as he did at Alabama.
