Crystal ball has Penn State landing Top 100 recruiting target

Penn State could be the emerging favorite for this Top 100 wide receiver in 2024.

Penn State is hoping that their second official visit weekend can bring in some of the same success that their first weekend did. Although, this one was a little different because the majority of the players in State College had already committed to the Nittany Lions. However, there were still some high-priority targets that Penn State is still actively recruiting.

Last week, [autotag]Nick Marsh[/autotag] cut his list of schools down to five with his official visit to Penn State on the horizon. Now it looks like Penn State is in the driver’s seat to land one of its top wide receiver targets.

247Sports’ Crystal Ball predicted on Monday that Marsh will commit to the Nittany Lions. This comes after Marsh reopened his recruiting after decommitting from Michigan State earlier in the year.

Penn State wasted no time in going after the 6’3″ 200-pound prospect. 247Sports has him ranked as the 99th player in the country and the 15th overall wide receiver in the class of 2024.

Lions247 staff writer, Tyler Calvaruso put his prediction in that has Penn State getting the coveted wide receiver. Calvaruso has gone 16 of 17 on his predictions in the 2024 class and holds a lifetime record of 91.34% with over 250 predictions.

With the concerns about wide receiver depth circling, this signing would go a long way to ensure that the Nittany Lions don’t find themselves in this position again. Marsh is a big-time talent who could become an impact player immediately during his freshman season.

It would also be a major recruiting win for the program. Picking up a player from the state of Michigan who was once committed to Michigan State signals the strength of the football program.

Marsh has his commitment date set for July 7.

Penn State in top 5 of coveted 2024 WR

Penn State trending at the right time for this elite wide receiver in 2024.

Wide receiver has been a position in the forefront of the Penn State program and fans since the offseason began. Worries about depth and an influx of youth at the position caused James Franklin to try and add wide receivers during the spring transfer portal. That did not come to fruition however so Penn State will be entering this season with those depth concerns still in mind.

One way to ensure that this rhetoric can be avoided going forward is to consistently recruit the position.

2024 four-star wide receiver [autotag]Nick Marsh[/autotag] would be a good start. With zero listed wide receivers committed to Penn State in 2024 so far, this would be an important get for the Nittany Lions.

Marsh was previously committed to Michigan State before decommitting and reopening his recruitment.

He is a 6’3″ 198 pound prospect from Michigan who could become an impact player immediately his freshman season.

On Thursday, Marsh cut his list of schools down to five with Penn State and Michigan State making the cut. The other schools on the list are Oregon, Pittsburgh and Kansas.

It’s looking like Marsh is trending in the direction of Penn State. Coach Franklin and his staff understand how important of a signing this could potentially be and they fully turned their attention to recruiting Marsh.

He is scheduled for an official visit to State College this weekend starting Friday, June 9th. That will be the second time that he has visited Penn State, with the first coming unofficially in April 2023.

On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine has Penn State listed as the massive favorites to land the coveted four-star wide receiver with an 81.3% chance.

After Marsh’s visit to Penn State in May he told Chad Simmons of On3, “When I went up on the unofficial, it really stood out to me how Penn State could be a big benefit for me. The environment, the stadium, everything surrounding Penn State seems like a place I could thrive at. As far as a decision, I want to just take my time. But I know they’re bringing in some dogs, so their recruitment will also play a part for me.”

Marsh is scheduled for an official visit to Michigan State in late June with his commitment timetable expected to be sometime in July.

Top-100 WR Nick Marsh puts Oregon among top schools

4-star WR Nick Marsh, the No. 99 player in the 2024 class, received an offer from Oregon just 3 weeks ago.

On Thursday, they landed among his top schools.

The Oregon Ducks are already off to a great start when it comes to amassing elite talent at the wide receiver position in the 2024 class. With commitments from 4-star Jordan Anderson (No. 127 overall, No. 19 WR) and 4-star WR Tyseer Denmark (No. 189 overall, No. 28 WR), coach Junior Adams has done a great job of securing a pair of top-30 pass-catchers in the upcoming class.

Don’t think they’re done amassing talent, though.

On Thursday afternoon, 4-star WR Nick Marsh announced his top five schools, keeping the Ducks in the mix. Marsh is rated by the 247Sports Composite as the No. 99 player in the 2024 class, and the No. 16 WR.

Marsh also included Pittsburgh, Penn State, Michigan State, and Kansas among his final schools.

At the moment, there are predictions on the 247Sports Crystal Ball for Marsh to commit to the Michigan State Spartans. Marsh just received an offer from Oregon a couple of weeks ago on May 18, and has yet to take a visit to Eugene.

Once that happens, and he can meet Junior Adams in person and get a feel for what the facilities and atmosphere are like at Oregon, we may see a change in the predictions.

Four star OL Casey Poe to officially visit Auburn in June

Poe, a top-25 lineman from the state of Texas, lists Auburn among his schools to officially visit.

The number of offensive linemen that have made their way onto Auburn’s roster over the last year has been rather surprising but in the best way.

What better way to keep the momentum going than by bringing one of the class of 2024’s top linemen to campus for an official visit?

That is what Auburn will do this June as [autotag]Casey Poe[/autotag], a four-star lineman from Lindale, Texas, has announced that he will be visiting Auburn officially on June 16 according to Steve Wiltfong of 247Sports. According to his itinerary, Auburn will be Poe’s third official visit of the summer. He also plans to visit Clemson, Alabama, and Oklahoma.

Poe has only visited Auburn once, but offensive line coach [autotag]Jake Thornton[/autotag] is actively working to sign Poe by pitching the opportunity for early playing time.

“Just kind of how I can help flip the program and get it back to where it’s supposed to be. I’d come in and play early and fight for that spot. Depending on how I do, maybe I’d play as a freshman and get some time there,” Poe said in a recent interview with Auburn Undercover ($). “It’s a number of things he’s selling, but mostly overall it’s the family atmosphere, the family vibe and they’re ready to win a championship again.”

Auburn currently has five players committed for the 2024 cycle, led by four-star quarterback [autotag]Walker White[/autotag]. Several other priority 2024 recruits have locked in official visits such as wide receiver [autotag]Nick Marsh[/autotag] and EDGE [autotag]Jamonta Waller[/autotag].
