Every Penn State player in the NFL playoffs in 2024

Here is every former Penn State football player on an NFL playoff team’s roster in 2024.

Another NFL postseason is set to get underway, and there is a good chance at least one team playing in the Super Bowl will have a Penn State player on the roster. All but two teams in this year’s NFL playoffs have at least one Penn State player on the roster this year. The top seeds in each conference have multiple Penn State players on the roster, seemingly making it more likely Penn State will see a former player earn a Super Bowl ring.

In all, a total of 64 Super Bowl rings have been won by a former Penn State player. Last year’s Super Bowl had just one former Penn State player on the field, but Miles Sanders and the Philadelphia Eagles came up short of winning the big game. There is an excellent chance there will be more than one former Nittany Lion competing in the Super Bowl this postseason.

The Los Angeles Rams and Cleveland Browns are the only two teams in the NFL postseason without a Penn State player on the roster. Here is a look at every Penn State player on an NFL playoff team’s roster this postseason.

What Penn State players are on the rosters for teams in this season’s NFL playoffs?

The NFL’s regular season is now officially in the books and the field for this year’s playoff is set. And once again, this NFL postseason will be seeing Penn State well represented throughout the playoffs. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have the most former Nittany Lions on their roster as the battle for the Super Bowl is about to get underway. In all, there are 18 players from Penn State in this year’s NFL playoffs.

The only teams in the NFL playoffs with no Penn State ties are the Kansas City Chiefs and Seattle Seahawks.

Every Penn State player on an NFL opening day roster in 2022

Here is every former Penn State plater on an NFL roster to start the new NFL season in 2022.

The start of a new season in the National Football League is here and there will be a good amount of Penn State flavor throughout the league this season. Penn State will have the eighth most players on an NFL opening day roster this season with 34 players appearing on an NFL team’s 53-man roster to start the season (plus two additional players on injured reserve and another on the physically unable to perform list). In all, Penn State claims 44 players are on NFL rosters to start the year with the inclusion of practice squad players.

That includes nine players who were on the Penn State roster in 2021, including wide receiver [autotag]Jahan Dotson[/autotag], defensive end [autotag]Arnold Ebiketie[/autotag], and safety [autotag]Jaquan Brisker[/autotag]. Dotson is one of four Penn State players on the Washington Commanders, the most of any NFL franchise to start the season.

Former kicker [autotag]Robbie Gould[/autotag] continues to be the elder statesman of the Nittany Lions football family in the NFL. Gould, of the San Francisco 49ers, is entering his 19th season in the NFL.

Raiders sign two to exclusive rights free agent tenders

Two exclusive rights free agents get tendered by Raiders

As players arrived for the first day of the Raiders offseason program, the team took care of some business. Along with adding free agent edge rusher Tashawn Bowers, the Raiders brought back a couple of their own by signing the tenders of Exclusive Rights Free Agent DB Roderic Teamer as well as TE Nick Bowers.

Teamer joined the Raiders last offseason, coming over from the Chargers. He would appear in ten games, starting the final two games as well as the team’s wild card playoff game at safety due in part to the injury to Johnathan Abram.

Bowers signed with the Raiders as an undrafted free agent out of Penn State prior to the start of the 2020 season. After spending the entire 2020 season on the team’s practice squad, Bowers was called up to the active roster five times last season, seeing a total of 40 snaps on offense and 39 snaps on special teams. He has yet to record a statistic of any kind.

Raiders, Eagles Thursday injury report: Raiders thin at tight end

Last week, the Raiders lost Derek Carrier to an injury. He was replaced in the lineup by Nick Bowers. And now Bowers is also injured. The injury to Bowers is serious enough that Interim head coach Rich Bisaccia already ruled him out this week.

“Nick Bowers did not practice today,” Bisaccia said Wednesday. “He’s got something going on with his shoulder and his neck, so we will evaluate as we get going but he will be out this week.”

Bowers and Carrier’s injuries leave just Darren Waller and Foster Moreau as the only active roster tight ends. The only other tight end in the house is Matt Bushman who is on the practice squad. He figures to get elevated this week to add much-needed depth at the position.

Most of the rest of the players dealing with injuries were upgraded on Thursday from their Wednesday status. Including safety Dallin Leavitt (quad) returning to practice.

The Eagles also saw safety Anthony Harris (hands) return to practice.
