Former Tennessee offensive lineman announces transfer destination.

Tennessee redshirt freshman offensive lineman Nick Edwards entered the NCAA transfer portal Monday.

Edwards announced his transfer destination a short time later.

“After a great conversation with coach (Matt) Jones, I will be transferring to the University of Tennessee Martin,” Edwards announced.

The 6-foot-5, 324-pound Edwards discussed his opportunity to play for the Vols.

“I would like to stat by thanking the staff and my teammates at the University of Tennessee, especially coach (Josh) Heupel and coach (Glen) Elarbee, for giving me this opportunity,” Edwards announced.“This has been an amazing opportunity that has taught me so much.

“With that being said, after careful consideration, I have decided I will be entering the transfer portal with four years of eligibility remaining.”

Edwards came to Tennessee from Clarksville High School in Clarksville, Tennessee.

In-state offensive lineman commits to Tennessee

Tennessee Vols’ football recruiting news.

Tennessee has landed an in-state 2021 offensive lineman commitment.

Nicholas Edwards announced Thursday he will continue his academic and athletic career at Tennessee.

“After continuing conversation with Charlie High and Glen Elarbee, I have decided I will be continuing my athletic and academic career at the University of Tennessee,” Edwards said on Twitter.

The 6-foot-6, 300-pound offensive lineman is from Clarksville High School in Clarksville, Tennessee.

Tennessee will kick off the 2021 season under first-year head coach Josh Heupel on Sept. 4. The Vols will host Bowling Green at Neyland Stadium.

Heupel was hired as head coach on Jan. 27 after a three-year stint in the same capacity at UCF.
