New England Patriots at New York Giants odds and lines: Patriots Favorites at MetLife Stadium

Assessing the odds and lines for Sunday’s New England Patriots at New York Giants NFL preseason Week 3 matchup.

The New England Patriots (2-0) and New York Giants (0-2) close out their preseason Sunday at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Patriots vs. Giants odds and lines.

New England pummeled the Philadelphia Eagles Thursday 35-0 as QB Cam Newton and No. 15 overall pick QB Mac Jones combined to go 21-for-28 with 249 yards, 1 touchdown and 0 interceptions. The Patriots outgained the Eagles 486-163 in total yards and were plus-2 in turnover differential.

The Giants lost to the Cleveland Browns 17-13 Sunday but the contest had very little juice as both teams sat their starting quarterbacks, running backs, wide receivers, tight ends and a plethora of defensive players. In fact, none of QB Daniel Jones, RB Saquan Barkley or WR Kenny Golladay have played a preseason snap.

Jacksonville Jaguars at New Orleans Saints odds and lines: Experience, home field favor Saints

Assessing the odds and lines for Monday’s Jacksonville Jaguars at New Orleans Saints NFL preseason Week 2 matchup.

The Jacksonville Jaguars (0-1) and New Orleans Saints (0-1) will wrap up Week 2 of the NFL preseason with a Monday game at the newly-named Caesars Superdome in New Orleans. Kickoff will be at 8 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Jaguars vs. Saints odds and lines.

The new-look Jaguars suffered a 23-13 loss at home against the Cleveland Browns in Week 1 of the preseason. Rookie QB Trevor Lawrence, the No. 1 overall pick of the 2021 NFL Draft, went 6-for-9 for 71 yards in his first taste of NFL game action.

Both C.J. Beathard and Jake Luton attempted more passes as they likely battle for the QB3 role behind Lawrence and Gardner Minshew (4-for-8, 47 yards).

Saints rookie QB Ian Book went 9-for-16 for 126 yards but with an interception in New Orleans’ 17-14 road loss to the Baltimore Ravens last week. QBs Jameis Winston and Taysom Hill are expected to continue battling for the Saints’ QB1 role.

The Saints are home favorites with the -200 money line odds. Those odds represent an implied win probability of 66.67% and can also be seen as a fraction of 1/2 or decimal of 1.50. New Orleans must win by 4 or more points in order to cover the -3.5-point spread.

The Jaguars can lose by as many as 3 points and cover the spread if unable to win outright as underdogs. Their +160 money line odds represent a 38.46% implied win probability.

If the Jaguars and Saints combined to score 39 or more points Monday, it’ll be a win for Over 38.5 (-115) bettors. A total of 38 or fewer points would be a win for Under (-105) bettors. The lower odds on the Over suggest it’s viewed by the sportsbook as the more likely outcome.

The 49ers (-200) have an implied win probability of 66.67%. Those odds can be seen as a decimal of 1.50 or a fraction of 1/2. San Francisco -4.5 (-105) must win by 5 or more points in order to cover the spread.

The underdog Chargers can cover the spread by losing by 4 or fewer points, winning outright or playing to a tie. They have a modest 38.46% implied win probability with the +160 money line odds.

The -115 odds on the projected total of 34.5 points suggests the Under is the more likely outcome with a total of 34 or fewer points scored. There would need to be 35 or more points scored to cash Over (-105) tickets.

The Steelers are the biggest favorites of the preseason Week 2 lines. Their -320 money line odds represent an implied win probability of 76.19%. A win by 7 or more points would cash a -6.5 (-110) against the spread bet.

The Lions are being given just a 28.57% chance of beating the Steelers, according to the odds. They can cover the spread by staying within 6 points in a loss or winning outright in an upset.

A point total of 38 or more would cash Over 37.5 (-115) tickets, while a total of 37 or fewer points is a win for Under (-105) bettors.
