Seahawks’ request to move back Week 16 game vs. Bears denied by NFL

Apparently, all three teams made an appeal to the league to move back those matchups and were denied.

The Seahawks are one of three teams that are getting screwed by the NFL postponing their Week 15 games. Due to COVID-19 outbreaks on the Rams, Browns and Washington teams, Seattle, Philadelphia and Las Vegas will all face their Week 16 opponents on short rest.

The Seahawks and Rams have had their Week 15 matchup moved two days back due to an outbreak of COVID-19.

The Seahawks and Rams have had their Week 15 matchup moved two days back due to an outbreak of COVID-19.

Here is everything we know about what’s going on with this week’s game.

NFL moves Washington-Eagles to Tuesday

The Washington Football Team will now play their Week 15 vs. Eagles on Tuesday.

After the Washington Football Team placed starting quarterback Taylor Heinicke on the reserve/COVID-19 list Friday, the NFL finally decided to move the WFT’s Sunday game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Per Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated, Washington’s Week 15 game vs. Philadelphia will now be played on Tuesday, Dec. 21, at 7 p.m. ET.

Washington currently has 21 players on the COVID list. Center Keith Ismael was placed on the list Thursday but activated Friday after head coach Ron Rivera confirmed Ismael did not test positive for COVID but instead had the flu.

The NFL also moved the Seahawks and Rams to Tuesday. Saturday’s game between the Raiders and Browns was moved to Monday.

Now, the NFL has two games on Monday and two on Tuesday.

This is tricky timing for Washington. Not only is Week 15’s game against the Eagles on the road, but so is the Week 16 game at Dallas. That means Washington will lose practice time, have an extremely short week and go back on the road. Not the ideal circumstances for a team battling for a playoff spot.

We’ll keep you posted on the latest developments for Washington’s COVID crisis and Week 15.
