Wisconsin legend T.J. Watt is nearing an NFL record

A former Wisconsin Badger now leads the NFL in sacks

Former Wisconsin Badger T.J. Watt is dominating yet another football game. The former Badger just recently got home twice to sack Ravens quarterback Tyler Huntley, his 18th and 19th sacks of the season respectively.

Watt entered the afternoon tied with Bengals edge rusher Trey Hendrickson for the league lead with 17 sacks. Today’s tallies put Watt in the solo lead with the regular season coming to a close.

The future Hall of Fame linebacker’s season numbers are now up to 68 tackles, 19 sacks, 18 tackles for loss, four forced fumbles and one interception.

If the result stands, Watt would also be the only player in NFL history to lead the NFL in sacks in three different seasons. He’s previously done it in 2020 and 2021.

It’s the conclusion of another NFL season, and T.J. Watt remains one of the most dominant defenders in the league.

Chiefs Creed Humphrey is NFL’s best run blocking center since Week 8, per PFF

Creed Humphrey has been the NFL’s best run-blocking center since Week 8, according to Pro Football Focus.

The Kansas City Chiefs decided to lean on their running game in Week 13 against the Green Bay Packers and found success when using second-year back Isiah Pacheco to pick up gritty yards on the ground.

The shift away from Andy Reid’s usual pass-first attack has surprised some fans, but given the job that Kansas City’s offensive line has done in recent weeks as run blockers, the change in identity makes sense.

According to Pro Football Focus, center Creed Humphrey has led the charge in this regard and holds the NFL’s highest run-blocking grade among players at his position.

While the Chiefs couldn’t escape Week 13 with a win at Lambeau Field, Humphrey’s efforts to open holes for Pacheco on the ground are admirable and should be a key asset for the team moving forward.

Expect Humphrey and Pacheco to team up to dominate the Buffalo Bills in Week 14 as Kansas City seeks to bounce back to secure its ninth win of the 2023 season.

Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes leads NFL in scramble yardage heading into Week 7

#Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes currently leads the NFL in yards gained from scrambles, according to PFF.

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is known more for his exceptional arm talent than his surprisingly nimble wheels, but through six weeks of the NFL’s 2023 season, he has managed to flip the script on his skillset.

Instead of leading the NFL in passing yards this year, it seems that the reigning MVP is more keen to take the crown for most yards picked up with his feet. Heading into Week 7, Mahomes’ mark of 192 yards gained from scrambles leads the league, marking an about-face from his usual method of dominance.

While he continues to work back into his groove, Mahomes has quietly led Kansas City to a 5-1 start to the season and has the Chiefs in position to compete for the AFC’s top playoff seed if their winning ways continue.

Expect Mahomes to continue leaning into his improvisational abilities in Week 7 against the Los Angeles Chargers as he looks to return to form and extend Kansas City’s win streak against its bitter divisional rival.
