  • Over/Under: 51.5 (O: -106 | U: -115)

New Mexico at Utah State: Three things to know

  1. The Lobos are favored despite the fact they were shut out 28-0 at Air Force last Friday. UNM is averaging just 18.5 points per game, ranking 114th in the nation, and it is allowing 33.0 PPG to check in 89th overall.
  2. The Aggies are coming off a 35-16 home setback to Fresno State last time out on Nov. 14. Not only are they 0-4 SU, but they have failed to cover in each outing, too. They’re missing QB Jordan Love, who led their potent offense in 2019 and was the Green Bay Packers’ first-round NFL Draft pick (26th overall). The Aggies offense is in disarray this season, averaging just 11.3 PPG to rank 126th.
  3. The Lobos are 5-17 ATS in the past 22 against teams with a losing record, and 7-19 ATS in the past 26 inside the conference. They’re also 2-9 ATS in the past 11 as a favorite. The Aggies are 7-21 ATS in the past 28 as an underdog, and 1-10 ATS in the past 11 as a home dog. The Under is 4-1-1 in the past six meetings in this series.

New Mexico at Utah State: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

New Mexico 26, Utah State 17

Money line (ML)

New Mexico (-239) will cost you more than two times your potential return, and that’s a risky proposition on a team which was just shut out and is winless in four games. AVOID.

Against the spread (ATS)

NEW MEXICO -6.5 (-110) is worth playing lightly, as they have at least had a functional offense until last week. QB Tevaka Tuioti is a question mark due to a concussion, so watch Twitter and social media closely on his status before finalizing your pick. QB Trae Hall is not nearly as dependable should he get the nod.

Over/Under (O/U)

UNDER 51.5 (-115) is easily the best bet on the board in this Thanksgiving night matchup of winless clubs. UNM is coming off a scoreless outing and has quarterback health issues, while USU cannot get out of its own way offensively, and has yet to score more than 16 points in a single game. I am surprised the total is so high. Take advantage.

New Mexico at Air Force odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Friday’s New Mexico Lobos at Air Force Falcons sports betting odds and lines, with college football betting picks, tips and predictions.

The New Mexico Lobos (0-3, 0-3 Mountain West) and Air Force Falcons (1-2, 0-2) meet in Colorado Springs, Colo., for a 9:30 p.m. ET kickoff Friday. Below, we analyze the New Mexico-Air Force college football betting odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

New Mexico at Air Force: Betting odds, spread and lines

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Friday at 12:10 p.m. ET.

  • Money line: New Mexico +260 (bet $100 to win $260) | Air Force -334 (bet $334 to win $100)
  • Against the spread/ATS: New Mexico +9.5 (-110) | Air Force -9.5 (-110)
  • Over/Under: 55.5 (O: -110 | U: -110)

New Mexico at Air Force: Three things to know

  1. The Lobos have lost each of their three outings, but two of the outings have been near-misses. They lost at Hawaii 39-33, covering a 14-point number on Nov. 7, and they fell 27-20 to Nevada at a neutral site in Las Vegas.
  2. New Mexico ranks third in the nation, allowing just 81.3 rushing yards per game, but that will be put to the test against an Air Force ground attack that ranks No. 1 in the country with 330.0 rushing YPG.
  3. UNM is 7-1 ATS in the past eight meetings in this series, and the Lobos are 4-1 ATS in the past five trips to the Springs. The Over is 4-1 in the past five meetings at Air Force, and a perfect 7-0 in the past seven battles in this series.

New Mexico at Air Force: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Air Force 31, New Mexico 20

Money line (ML)

Air Force (-334) will cost you more than three times your potential return, which is risky business betting on a team facing a fairly strong rush defense. AVOID.

Against the spread (ATS)

AIR FORCE -9.5 (-110) is a strong play. New Mexico QB Tevaka Tuioti is a question mark for this one due to a concussion, and he is the straw that stirs the drink for the Lobos. They have played hard to the horn for the full 60 minutes, but they’re likely to be without Tuioti, and that’s no good for the Lobos.

Over/Under (O/U)

UNDER 55.5 (-110) is the lean in this one, even if it goes against the series trends. The Over is 4-1 in the past five meeting in Colorado Springs, and has hit in seven straight in the series overall. But Air Force is a running team, and that means running the clock. The triple-option, combined with UNM likely missing its leader under center, equals an Under result.

New Mexico at Hawaii odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Saturday’s New Mexico Lobos at Hawaii Rainbow Warriors sports betting odds and lines, with college football betting picks, tips and predictions.

The New Mexico Lobos (0-1, 0-1 MWC) and Hawaii Rainbow Warriors (1-1, 1-1) meet in Honolulu, for an 11 p.m. ET kickoff Saturday. Below, we analyze the New Mexico-Hawaii college football betting odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

New Mexico at Hawaii: Betting odds, spread and lines

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Friday at 5 p.m. ET.

  • Money line: New Mexico +440 (bet $100 to win $440) | Hawaii -625 (bet $625 to win $100)
  • Against the spread/ATS: New Mexico +15.5 (-110) | Hawaii -15.5 (-110)
  • Over/Under: 62.5 (O: -115 | U: -106)

New Mexico at Hawaii: Three things to know

  1. New Mexico’s season was delayed after COVID-19 concerns in Bernalillo County wiped out the original opener against Colorado State on Oct. 24. They opened on Halloween at San Jose State, falling 38-21 as 13.5-point underdogs. The Lobos were gashed for 588 total yards and 481 yards through the air.
  2. Hawaii marched past Fresno State in its first trip to the mainland, winning 34-19 on Oct. 24. Back-to-back trips were too much, as the Warriors were roughed up at Wyoming by a 31-7 count last Friday night, failing to cover as 2.5-point favorites. One thing which has been consistent, the Under is 2-0 in Hawaii’s two contests.
  3. In the past, we’ve expected the Warriors to throw the ball all over the field, but this season they have averaged just 169.5 passing yards per game while rolling up 223.0 rushing yards per outing to rank 14th in the nation.

New Mexico at Hawaii: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Hawaii 38, New Mexico 20

Money line (ML)

Hawaii (-625) will cost you more than six times your potential return. While the Warriors are more than likely to win, especially on their home field, AVOID.

Against the spread (ATS)

HAWAII -15.5 (-110) is worth playing lightly, although the Warriors will likely need QB Chevan Cordeiro to ratchet up the pass game for the Warriors to be able to cover this spread.

We’ve seen it in the past, although head coach Todd Graham’s system is quite a bit different than the departed Nick Rolovich’s run-and-shoot offense. Graham likes to pound the ball more on the ground.

Over/Under (O/U)

UNDER 62.5 (-106) is the play, as these aren’t your dad’s Hawaii Warriors. Heck, these aren’t even last year’s Hawaii Warriors. The Aloha Boys have opened with a pair of totals at 60 and over; they combined with Fresno State for 53 points on a 64.5-point line, and they combined for just 38 points last week at Wyoming with a 60-point line. They’re not coming close to hitting an Over. At home, we should see more points, but another Under is in the offing.
