Led by Jennie Baranczyk and Skylar Vann, several Sooners earn Big 12 women’s basketball regular season awards.

After a tremendous run in Big 12 play, several Sooners were honored with Big 12 regular season awards.

In her second year at Oklahoma, [autotag]Jennie Baranczyk[/autotag] was named Big 12 coach of the year after leading the Sooners to their second straight Big 12 regular season title. This after a 6-5 performance in the nonconference portion of the Sooners schedule.

The Sooners are the No. 1 seed in the Big 12 tournament and looking to make a statement as they push for a host seed in the NCAA tournament.

Oklahoma received a lot of big-time contributions this season and several players were honored with awards. [autotag]Skylar Vann[/autotag], who leads the Sooners in scoring and rebounds at 15 points and 7 rebounds a game, was named Big 12 Co-Player of the Year alongside Madison Booker of Texas. The Edmond, Okla. native at nine 20-point games in 2023-2024.

How to watch, key players for No. 20 Oklahoma Women’s Basketball at Kansas Jayhawks

The Big 12 regular season women’s champs are back in action for one final regular season game and here is how you can watch them.

It is time for the country to start noticing what the Oklahoma Sooners are doing right now. They just completed the season sweep of the Texas Longhorns with a great game earlier this week.

That win also clinched them the [autotag]Big 12[/autotag] regular season championship for the second season in a row. They moved to 15-2 in the conference with one game to play and them being ranked No. 20 is criminally low. If they beat the [autotag]Kansas Jayhawks[/autotag] and aren’t top 12 next week, there should be an investigation.

I’m only kidding, kind of.

Still, there is work to be done as the Sooners don’t want to fall to a Kansas team that is 17-11 on the season and who they only beat by five in Norman earlier in the year. So, let’s take a look at how you can watch the game and some key players.

How to watch, key players for No. 23 Oklahoma Women’s Basketball vs. Oklahoma State Cowgirls

The ranked women’s team are back in action also in Bedlam and this is how you can watch the game.

The Oklahoma Sooners were able to bounce back after a tough loss to West Virginia with a good win on the road at Cincinnati. Now, they are also playing their final Bedlam game as conference foes but this time in Norman.

The Sooners won the first meeting in Stillwater 81-74. The Cowgirls come into this game losing three of their last five games but they did get a good win at home over the [autotag]UCF Knights[/autotag] in their last game.

Oklahoma continues to have a hold on the conference as they have a one-game lead over Texas and [autotag]Kansas State.[/autotag] They currently lose the tie-breaker to Kansas State but win the tie-breaker over Texas who they will play again coming up.

But let’s take a look at how you can watch the game and some key players for both teams.

How to watch, key players for No. 23 Oklahoma Women’s Basketball vs. Cincinnati Bearcats

The Sooners women’s team are back in action to take on the Cincinnati Bearcats. Here is how you can watch the game.

The Oklahoma Sooners’ nine-game winning streak came to a heartbreaking end on Saturday as they fell at West Virginia. The Sooners had a chance to tie the game with one second left but missed the first free throw and then had a lane violation on the second one.

Now, they must bounce back as they still lead the Big 12 with four games to play. They take on a [autotag]Cincinnati Bearcats[/autotag] team they beat earlier in the year by 13 in Norman. But this one is on the road for the Sooners. The Bearcats are on a three-game losing streak and are 12-13 overall.

So, let’s take a look at how you can watch the game and some key players to watch.

How to watch, key players for No. 23 Oklahoma Women’s Basketball vs. No. 24 West Virginia Mountaineers

Here is how you can watch the red hot Oklahoma Sooners women’s basketball team against the West Virginia Mountaineers.

The Oklahoma Sooners just won their ninth straight game, defeating the No. 21 Baylor Lady Bears. The Sooners moved to 12-1 in league play and now have a two-game lead for first place.

But it doesn’t get easy for the Sooners. They now have to travel to Morgantown to take on another ranked team the Mountaineers.

If they can duplicate their previous performance where they dominated the Lady Bears, the Sooners should come out on top and with five games to play, should have a great chance of winning the league.

So, let’s take a look at how you can watch the upcoming game for the Sooners.

No. 23 Oklahoma Sooners knock off No. 21 Baylor Bears 84-73

The Oklahoma Sooners continued their strong march through Big 12 play with an 84-73 win over Baylor.

The Oklahoma Sooners have been on a roll of late and that continued Wednesday evening in their 84-73 win over the Baylor Lady Bears on Pink Night, raising breast cancer awareness.

The Sooners have now won nine straight and remain in sole possession of first place in the Big 12 with five games remaining. The Sooners are now 18-6 and 12-1 in Big 12 play.

Oklahoma received a big-time performance from [autotag]Kiersten Johnson[/autotag], who had a career-high 20 points in 22 minutes off the bench. She also added five rebounds, four assists, and three blocks to fill up the box score for the Sooners.

The game was 21-19 after one quarter, but in the second, Oklahoma used an 8-3 run late in the half to pull ahead by six going into halftime. That sparked a third quarter that was all Sooners.

OU led by 13 going into the fourth quarter and with Skylar Vann only contribution two points through the first three quarters.

The Sooners maintained their big lead for much of the fourth quarter, but just passed the midway point of the frame, Oklahoma began getting a little sloppy with the basketball and taking threes early in the shot clock that weren’t falling. With just under five minutes to play, the Bears pulled to within four, and the Sooners took control the rest of the way.

After Baylor pulled within a couple of possessions, the Sooners used a 6-0 run to reestablish a 10-point lead. The two sides traded threes to keep the margin double-digits and the Sooners kept the Bears at arms length for the final few minutes of the quarter.

Despite Vann’s sluggish start, she turned it on in the fourth with eight points to help Oklahoma close out the win.

Oklahoma had five players in double figures, led by Johnson. [autotag]Payton Verhulst[/autotag] continued her strong play of late with 16 points on 7 of 15 shooting. Verhulst added 11 rebounds and seven assists to nearly pull off the triple-double. [autotag]Neveah Tot[/autotag] was like lightning out there, using her speed to keep Baylor off-balance. She finished with 14 points on 5 of 10 shooting, dished out four assists, and came away with four steals. Freshman [autotag]Sahara Williams[/autotag] had a strong performance, putting up 14 points and six rebounds in the win.

Defensively, Oklahoma held Baylor under 40% shooting for the night, forced 17 turnovers and earned an edge in the rebounding department.

It was another strong team effort for [autotag]Jennie Baranczyk[/autotag]’s crew as the Sooners continue to establish themselves as the best in the Big 12.

Oklahoma has another top-25 matchup on the horizon, traveling to Morgantown this weekend to take on the No. 24 West Virginia Mountaineers.

They now face another ranked team, this time the No. 21 [autotag]Baylor Lady Bears[/autotag]. This game will be played in Norman as the [autotag]Big 12[/autotag] leading Sooners look to move to 12-1 in conference play.

There is no doubt they’ve been on an absolute tear since conference play started but are still being disrespected by the polls due to how they ended nonconference play.

Can they keep their winning streak alive? Let’s take a look at how you can watch the game.

Oklahoma Sooners beat Iowa State Cyclones 86-72

Payton Verhulst had a big game to lead the Sooners in their 86-72 win over the Iowa State Cyclones.

The Oklahoma Sooners went on the road to Ames, Iowa, and took care of business against a tough Iowa State Cyclones team. The Sooners remained in first place in the Big 12 with their 86-72 win Saturday night.

Payton Verhulst led the way from the jump, hitting a trio of three-pointers in the first quarter on the way to a 25-point performance. She also had eight rebounds and six assists. She was 8 of 17 on the evening and 6 of 11 from three.

Though the final margin reads 14 points, the game was close for much of the first quarter, but the Sooners pulled away in the final few minutes of the quarter on a 10-2 run to establish an eight-point lead at 27-19. And the Sooners never let it get close again.

After the Cyclones shot 50% in the first quarter and 46% in the second, the Sooners turned it up defensively, holding Iowa State to 35% shooting in the third quarter and 27% in the fourth.

For the game, the Sooners shot 45% from the field and 39% from three.

Skylar Vann provided 12 points and four rebounds and Neveah Tot nearly had a double-double with 10 points and nine assists.

Oklahoma outrebounded the Cyclones by 10 and also had 10 more assists than Iowa State.

It was another solid win for Jennie Baranczyk’s crew, who are now 17-6 on the season and 11-1 in the Big 12. It’s a strong statement ahead of a big midweek showdown with the Baylor Bears on Wednesday.

Oklahoma Sooners women’s basketball getting back to enjoying basketball

This season has been up and down Sooners which is why Jennie Baranczyk has to remind them to enjoy playing the game they love.

There might not be a hotter team in all of women’s college basketball than the Oklahoma Sooners. The Sooners have gone from being out of the projected [autotag]NCAA Tournament[/autotag] field to being ranked and atop the [autotag]Big 12[/autotag] conference.

The Sooners currently sit at 16-6 and 10-1 in conference play. It wasn’t that long ago the Sooners were being upset at home by Southern to fall to 6-5 on the season. At that point, it looked like a lost season but [autotag]Jennie Baranczyk[/autotag] has been able to pull something out of her team to salvage the season.

It resulted in another win Wednesday night against the TCU Horned Frogs 72-55. Baranczyk talked about getting back to enjoying playing basketball. “None of us really felt great but then you look at we had 22 assists to 12 turnovers and we feel like crap,” Baranczyk said. “We’ve had that number reversed and we’re like, ‘Okay, we’re getting closer.’ You have 38 points in the paint. There were some really good things and sometimes when you get to the place that you are at, especially in February, especially today at home and you feel some type of way, you start nitpicking and you stop enjoying. I think that’s one of the things we did a little bit. We started getting a little bit too much nitpicky on some things and so just enjoying.”

They’ve also become a very fun team to watch as well. They have a chance to continue their winning ways this time on the road as they take on the [autotag]Iowa State Cyclones[/autotag] on Saturday at 6:00 p.m.
