4 under-the-radar WRs the Panthers could still sign

The Panthers can’t stop at Adam Thielen. Here are four under-the-radar wide receivers Carolina can still grab in free agency.

Even before they shipped off DJ Moore in their trade for 2023’s No. 1 overall pick, the Carolina Panthers had to have been in the market for some wide receivers.

And that seems to be the case, as they—in some degree or another—have been linked to a few of the market’s top names. Heck, they just signed one in Adam Thielen.

Nonetheless, there’s still more work to be done at the position and, obviously, the possibility that they’ll miss out on the likes of Mecole Hardman, DJ Chark and Odell Beckham Jr. So, if they do, here are four under-the-radar free agents they could still turn to.

Patriots’ 5 biggest needs this offseason

Here are the Patriots’ five biggest needs that must be addressed in the offseason.

The New England Patriots finished 2022 by missing the playoffs for the second time in three years, an outcome that is well below the standard the Patriots are used to seeing over the last 20-plus years.

The Patriots are into full 2023 planning mode and looking for talent to round out a much-improved roster and coaching staff for next season. That’s coupled with the scheme changes that are sure to come from the hiring of Bill O’Brien as the new offensive coordinator.

There is clearly a lot of work to be done. Here are the Patriots’ biggest needs in the offseason.

3 big-name Patriots free agents most likely to be gone in 2023

What three big-name Patriots players will likely be on the move in 2023?

More could be changing with the New England Patriots in 2023 than just the offensive play-caller.

They have some key contracts coming due that could lead to coach Bill Belichick making some tough decisions. Make no mistake, the Patriots are in great standing as far as projected cap space in 2023, but depending on the free agent market, they may not be able to keep their entire roster intact.

That isn’t to suggest they won’t be in play to sign extensions, but it’s hard to envision them overplaying their hand in an effort to keep all of their current pending free agents.

The Patriots could look to move on through free agency by other means or reload in the draft. Whatever the case may be, here are the three Patriots free agents most likely to be playing football elsewhere in 2023.

22 pending free agents for Patriots in 2023 offseason

Here’s a list of the pending 2023 free agents for the Patriots.

It will be a crossroads for the New England Patriots in 2023 with many of their key contributors listed as pending free agents.

Things get even trickier with the team basically falling off a cliff, especially on the offensive side of the ball, in the 2022 season. They finished the year with an 8-9 record and missed the playoffs for the second time in three seasons.

The inevitable change that’s to come won’t just be with the coaching staff. This could be the year where we see some household names and legendary figures for the franchise say their goodbyes.

The good news is the team will have a lot of money to play with if they wanted to keep their current roster intact. According to Spotrac.com, the Patriots are ranked eighth in the NFL with $45,191,040 in projected 2023 cap space.

Here are the players currently listed with expiring deals in New England.

Patriots receiver DeVante Parker ripped officials for not pulling him off the field after he had a concussion

DeVante Parker is furious with NFL officials

After seeing what Tua Tagovailoa went through with what looked like multiple concussions earlier this season, it’s pretty evident that the NFL has some soul-searching to do regarding its concussion protocol.

We got another example on Monday when the Patriots played the Cardinals.

DeVante Parker took a big hit and showed all the signs of a player who might have a concussion. He was slow to get up and was wobbly once he finally did. He got back to the line of scrimmage so play could continue, but not a single official checked on him as they’re supposed to when players display these signs.

Only his teammate, Nelson Agholor, caught that there may have been something wrong. He signaled officials and stopped the play.

Parker hopped on Instagram the next day absolutely furious. He demanded the officials do their jobs better, and no one can really blame him in this instance. They didn’t catch this.

Warning: There is some NSFW language in this post

Luckily, Agholor caught this and things didn’t end up as badly as they could’ve. But the NFL has some serious work to do when it comes to spotting these head injuries and dealing with them in the moment.

Hopefully, the league does the work moving forward into the future. The safer the game can be, the better it is for everyone across the board.

Nelson Agholor commented on DeVante Parker head injury controversy

Nelson Agholor commented on the head injury controversy involving teammate, DeVante Parker.

New England Patriots wideout Nelson Agholor is being looked at as a hero after stepping in and stopping a play from continuing with a clearly wobbly DeVante Parker still on the field.

When asked to comment on the situation, Agholor was pretty tight-lipped on the subject, but he did admit that the incident should be taken seriously.

“I’m not going to comment on that, because that’s something [for] the NFL and everything like that,” Agholor told NESN’s Zack Cox. “Ask our coaches. I care about my guys, and we know that that?s a serious thing. That’s all I can say.”

Parker suffered a head injury after falling face-first to the ground while trying to haul in a pass in the first quarter. Anyone watching on television could clearly see the veteran receiver wasn’t right after the play. He looked shaken up, and his eyes looked unfocused, like someone that had just had their brain rattled.

And yet, the game was going to be allowed to continue.

Agholor knew immediately something was off after looking at Parker, who somehow found his footing enough to line up wide in an effort to get off another play. However, Agholor managed to get the attention of officials with his insistent waving to blow the play dead.

Parker came out on Tuesday and blasted the NFL for missing the injury. He also publicly thanked Agholor for stepping up and bringing attention to the situation to prevent another play from getting off.

Thanks to Agholor, a worst-case scenario was avoided, and Parker was able to walk away without a more serious injury.

Frustrated DeVante Parker calls out NFL publicly for missing head injury

DeVante Parker is calling the NFL out publicly.

New England Patriots wideout DeVante Parker isn’t happy with the NFL, following the head injury he sustained in Monday night’s game against the Arizona Cardinals.

When attempting to catch a pass, the veteran receiver was standing on wobbly legs after having his head slammed to the ground. There was even a point where the TV cameras zoomed into his facemask, and he looked like he wasn’t completely there after the hit.

But the game was never stopped after the play. In fact, if not for the heads-up thinking of Parker’s teammate, Nelson Agholor, Parker would have stayed on the field for another play.

Agholor knew immediately that something was wrong, and he started waving his arms to get the attention of the NFL officials, before finally helping Parker off the field.

On Tuesday, Parker hopped on social media to thank Agholor, while also blasting the NFL for failing to recognize his head injury.

“Get on y’all’s [expletive] job NFL,” Parker posted on social media. “Thankful my brother was aware of the situation, Nelson Agholor.”

The incident comes in a year when the league is cracking down even harder on head injuries. It’s a good thing Agholor was paying attention because we could have easily been talking about a far worse situation if the Patriots got another play off.

4 big takeaways from Patriots’ 27-13 win vs Cardinals

Here are 4 big takeaways from the Patriots’ Monday Night Football victory.

After a week full of questions regarding their offensive system, the New England Patriots came into Glendale, AZ with the determination to bounce back against a struggling Arizona Cardinals squad on Monday night, and walked out with a 27-13 victory.

The Cardinals lost star quarterback Kyler Murray on just the third play from scrimmage, and so veteran backup Colt McCoy helmed Arizona’s offense for the vast majority of the contest. While McCoy put up solid numbers in Murray’s stead (27/40, 246 yards, 1 INT), he was unable to make key throws against a Patriots secondary whose play improved as the night went along.

Here are four big takeaways from the game.

Winners and losers from Patriots’ 27-13 road win over the Cardinals

Who were the winners and losers from Monday’s game?

The New England Patriots traveled out west with the hopes of returning with a 8-6 record and control of their fate in the playoff picture.

So far, so good.

Despite battling a slew of injuries, the Patriots dug deep and managed to snag a pivotal road win over the Arizona Cardinals at State Farm Stadium in a primetime Monday Night Football game. By the end of the game, they were down cornerback Jack Jones, running back Rhamondre Stevenson, wide receiver DeVante Parker and safety Devin McCourty.

But the next man up mentality proved too strong to be outdone for a Patriots team that desperately needed a win. Make no mistake, it wasn’t all sugar and rainbows in the matchup, and there are still legitimate concerns surrounding the team. However, they did what they had to do and finished strong with a victory over a Cardinals team that’s clearly better than their record indicates.

Here are the winners and losers from the game.

WATCH: Mac Jones split Vikings defense with opening drive touchdown pass

Mac Jones split the defense with this touchdown throw.

The New England Patriots and Minnesota Vikings got off to a hot start in Thursday night’s game, as both teams scored on their first drive.

Wide receiver Nelson Agholor did the honors for the Patriots, when hauling in a deep pass from Mac Jones for a 34-yard touchdown strike to tie the game.

This was the Patriots’ first first-quarter touchdown of the season, making them the last team in the league to achieve that feat.

For Jones, this was his fifth touchdown pass of the year. This was Agholor’s second touchdown catch on the year. The play gave the Patriots momentum in the quarter, after they struggled last week against the New York Jets.

It will be intriguing to see if the touchdown holds significant weight in this game, as New England looks to inch their way up the AFC playoff rankings.
