College Basketball Predictions For Every Game: Sunday

We’re used to doing this for college football bowl projections, and this is so much easier in one way – we pretty much know which teams should be in the mix for the 68 spots in the NCAA Tournament. But …

This is SO much harder, because it’s a 100% given that a bunch of these teams aren’t going to be in. And why? Because of college basketball’s silly system of giving an automatic spot to the champions of the gimmicky conference tournaments instead of rewarding the accomplishments of the regular season and … sorry, that whiny rant is for another day.

We’re not going to mess with trying to put together the actual bracket until early March. Again, the conference tournaments throw way too much of a knuckleball into the equation. Assume that some of the lower-seeded power conference teams here will get bumped out by some mediocre squad that just so happened to get red hot for a long weekend.

So we’re going to play it straight for the first few weeks.

At the moment – if the NCAA Tournament selection was happening right now – here’s the best guess for where the 68 teams would be seeded, and which ones on the bubble would just miss out.

What makes college football, college football? Welcome to the Tournament of College Football Things. You decide what makes the sport what it is.

What makes college football the sport it is?

When you think college football, what matters? What’s great about it? What makes the game special?

They can be great games, historic teams, legendary coaches and players, the atmosphere – however you want to define this uniquely American sport.

We’ve created a Tournament of College Football Things, and we’re going to let you vote and decide what goes forward and what or who gets knocked out.

In general, we try to keep this as positive and fun as possible – yes, there are a slew of massive scandals that could be on here – so there’s just one NCAA sanction thing that makes the tournament, partially because it seems quaint by comparison to other controversies.

Go on Twitter to @ColFootballNews and vote throughout the entire process. The First Four voting is up now, and then the rest of the tournament will get started on Monday afternoon.

2020 NCAA Basketball Tournament Bracket. What Might Have Happened?

What if the 2020 NCAA Basketball Tournament went off like normal? What the bracket might have been, and what would’ve happened in each game?

What if the 2020 NCAA Basketball Tournament went off like normal? What the bracket might have been, and what would’ve happened in each game?

Let’s just pretend this whole global nightmare thing didn’t happen, and let’s just assume that the 2020 NCAA Basketball Tournament went off as normal.

Everyone is healthy, there are crowds, there are bands, everyone is playing – including Duke and Kansas – and there’s all the fun of what’s normally this most glorious time on the sports calendar.

We’re going to play this out over the next several days from the First Four right up to the national championship with our own brackets, seedings, and game outcomes.

Let’s have some fun.

We try to figure out what the best overall matchups might be, throw in games that would make geographic sense, NET Rankings, and – sorry for being boring – we go chalk on who the conference tournament champions might have been.

And then it’s Game On.

Just so there’s absolutely no confusion – of course the real NCAA Tournament is cancelled – these are all our seedings, matchups, lines, brackets and projections. Nothing about this comes from the NCAA selection committee.

The 2020 NCAA Basketball Tournament bracket might have been (trying to get it as close to the pin as possible) …

Ohio State basketball still locked into the same seed line according to most NCAA Tournament projections

The Ohio State basketball team is getting more solidified in its NCAA Tournament projections. Here’s the seed line most have it on.

The Ohio State basketball team had a very productive week. It knocked off No. 7 Maryland on Sunday, then disposed of Nebraska on the road. The first was a major boost, the latter was the dodge of a bad loss, even though Big Ten road wins come about as often as coherent Jim Harbaugh press conference.

Despite it all though, the Buckeyes remain pretty locked in as a No. 6 seed when you look across the landscape of the major NCAA Tournament Projections.

We’ve been keeping an eye on some of the major ones, and here’s the latest run down from USA TODAY to Joey Brackets of ESPN.

Where Ohio State basketball lands in the major NCAA Tournament bracket projections

Here’s where Ohio State lands in the major NCAA Tournament bracket projections. It’s bracketology through a scarlet and gray lens.

It’s that time of year where we start to get really interested in where college basketball teams are slotting in the litany of major NCAA bracket projections. Up until now, it’s all just been jockeying for position, but now teams are either safely in, on the bubble, or out of the mix with some serious work to do.

Ohio State falls somewhere in the middle of all of that. It has some impressive wins from earlier in the season, a serious swoon in January, and now a bit of a rebound over the last six games.

Still, a steak one way or the other could drastically change the prospects of where the Buckeyes could be headed come March. It is truly madness.

With all that’s at stake, we decided to take a look at where some of the major bracketologists have OSU as it stands right now, just ahead of two extremely tough games on the road at Iowa and home against Maryland.
