4-star NC State WR commit projected to flip to Georgia

Georgia football has been looking for another wide receiver commitment since Ny Carr decommitted from the Bulldogs. Four-star NC State commit is now projected to flip to UGA

Head coach Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs recently lost a commitment from four-star wide receiver recruit Ny Carr. Carr switched his commitment to the Miami Hurricanes.

Since Carr’s decommitment, Georgia has been looking for another wide receiver to commit to the Bulldogs. Georgia may have found its next commitment in the class of 2024: NC State commit Terrell Anderson.

Anderson is a four-star recruit that plays high school football for Grimsley High School in Greensboro, North Carolina. Anderson is ranked 356th overall, 11th in North Carolina and 53rd among wide receivers.

Anderson has been committed to NC State since Aug. 12. 247Sports NC State insider Michael Clark projects Anderson will flip his commitment from NC State to Georgia.

Anderson is NC State’s fourth highest-ranked commitment in the class of 2024. His potential decommitment would be a big blow to the Wolfpack, who have the No. 33 recruiting class in the country.

Georgia only has two commitments at wide receiver in the class of 2024. Georgia football has the No. 1 recruiting class in the country with 26 total commitments.

ACC football power rankings after Week 4: Florida State cements place atop the conference, Clemson drops

Here is a look at our ACC power rankings following Week 4 of the 2023 college football season.

The ACC looks very different this season, with Florida State taking down Clemson 31-24 in overtime as they cemented their spot atop the conference.

As Florida State held onto the top spot in the ACC, Clemson fell further down the rankings as they failed to take advantage of a huge opportunity. The ACC looks stronger than many expected heading into this season, and in a shocking turn, the Tigers are not among the top tier of this conference through four weeks.

There is a lot of season left for his to change, but right now, the conference looks far different than many would have expected. Here are our ACC football power rankings following Week 4 action.

ACC football power rankings after Week 1

Here is a look at our ACC power rankings following Week 1 of the 2023 college football season.

The 2023 college football season is in full swing, as each ACC team has officially participated in a game this season.

It was a wild week for the ACC, that saw some great matchups. Florida State proved that they are the real deal in their thrashing of LSU, while Duke upset Clemson in a 28-7 upset that no one saw coming

The ACC is back, and it was an exciting week, with each team showing us some of what we can expect this season. With the crazy week of football, we are releasing our first batch of ACC rankings for the 2023 season. Here is how I’m breaking down the ACC after Week 1’s performances.

Updated ACC football projected win totals according to ESPN FPI

Despite all the hype around Florida State, ESPN’s FPI has Clemson as the ACC’s top projected team.

The 2023 college football season will be an intense one for the ACC, with a lot on the line. One of the most significant discussions of this off-season truly has become Clemson or Florida State. The Seminoles have become arguably the most hyped team in college football heading into 2023, with their new addition of former Michigan State wide receiver Keon Coleman adding even more fuel to the fire.

Despite the hype and most analysts seeing Florida State as the new top team in the ACC, ESPN’s FPI sees things differently.

According to ESPN, the FPI is a “measure of team strength that is meant to be the best predictor of a team’s performance going forward for the rest of the season. FPI represents how many points above or below average a team is. Projected results are based on 20,000 simulations of the rest of the season using FPI, results to date, and the remaining schedule. Ratings and projections update daily. FPI data from seasons prior to 2019 may not be complete”.

This FPI has Clemson with the highest projected win total in the ACC, ahead of Florida State. Here is a full look at the projected win totals for each ACC team according to ESPN’s FPI.

Where each ACC football team lands in ESPN’s final preseason SP+ rankings

Where Clemson and the rest of the ACC stand in ESPN’s final preseason SP+ rankings update.

ESPN recently updated their final preseason SP+ ratings as we fast approach the 2023 season, with Clemson and Florida State remaining the top two teams in the ACC.

With the original release coming out in February, a lot has changed since the first SP+ for the 2023 season came out. This can happen for a variety of different reasons.

As a reminder, these projections are primarily based on returning production, recent recruiting, and the recent history of each program. Clemson is one of the few teams that didn’t move in these ranking updates, remaining at No.9.

Here’s a look at where  each ACC football team landed in the August update.

ACC football team recruiting rankings – early August update

FSU jumps Clemson but the Tigers average recruit ranking remains higher. An updated look at the 2024 ACC team recruiting rankings.

Dabo Swinney and the Clemson football program have been working hard in the 2024 recruiting class and have successfully built one of the country’s top classes up to this point.

Two top-tier recruits highlight Clemson’s 2024 class in linebacker Sammy Brown and wide receiver Bryant Wesco, each with the talent to be a future star for the program. The latest addition to the Tigers class was four-star cornerback Corian Gipson, who committed to the Tigers Saturday over Texas and others.

With 17 commitments in the class, the Tigers have one of the strongest classes in the country but are no longer the strongest in the ACC. Florida State has recently jumped Clemson in the rankings. However, Clemson holds the higher average recruit rank.

Updated look at ACC football recruiting rankings for 2024

Here is an early look at how each team in the ACC is doing so far in the 2024 recruiting cycle.

The 2023 recruiting cycle is completed with national signing day in the books and Clemson, along with each team around the country having their 23′ classes solidified and signed.

Clemson has been one of the most consistent teams in the country, recruiting in the Dabo Swinney era. While this should continue, other programs around the ACC are getting back on track as they look to reclaim their former glory. With Name, Image, and Likeness changing the game in ways nobody could have ever imagined just a few years ago, football recruiting has shifted to a sign earlier landscape, making every bit of time count in the process.

Things are ramping up in the 24′ cycle, with ACC schools such as Florida State and Louisville already have five-star recruits committed as the ACC looks to compete with other Power 5 conferences over recruiting supremacy. So, who are the top classes in the ACC so far?

Here is an early look at the ACC football recruiting rankings for 2024 based on 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Is the Commanders James Smith-Williams appreciated enough?

James Smith-Williams is one of Washington’s more underappreciated players.

Being a final-round draft choice can certainly lead to a player being ignored.

Washington defensive end James Smith-Williams has been one such player. No doubt many Commanders fans are really certain of his name, they don’t recall his jersey number and they certainly don’t know where he played his college ball.

It was funny when even head coach Ron Rivera once spoke of the defensive end as James Williams-Smith. Smith-Williams is still only 25, turning 26 on July 30. He enters this season knowing it is a contract year for him.

What type of year did the former North Carolina State Wolfpack have for the Commanders in 2022? Check out this tweet for some perspective:

Number 96 gets lost by the fan base when he is playing with teammates such as Jonathan Allen, Daron Payne, Montez Sweat and Chase Young. But he is accustomed to this, as it occurred during his college days at NC State as well.

Illinois defensive coordinator and former North Carolina State defensive coach, Aaron Henry a guest on the “Al Galdi Podcast,” Tuesday reminded listeners:

“What a lot of people forget is James Smith-Williams was behind Bradley Chubb, Kentavius Street, Justin Jones and B.J. Hill. All them dudes were drafted in the NFL. ”

“So, the fact that he was even a 7th rounder…we knew that young man was going to be special. His off-the-field philanthropy combined with his football ability, the sky was the limit.”

“He was absolutely everything you wanted in terms of building a program. Hard worker, great student, always on time, never any issues, a leader.”

“That young man will play however long he wants to in the NFL. That’s a quality, incredible pillar for the Washington Commanders.”
