Ohio State vs. Oregon will do what hasn’t been done in 30 years

NBC might break streaming records as Ohio State vs. Oregon will be its first top-three matchup since 1993.

Ohio State football has had just one of the top 20 most-watched games this season.

Having dominated every matchup this season, over 4 million people turned in for the Buckeyes battle with Iowa this past Saturday, drawing a crowd for their 35-7 victory.

While Georgia vs. Alabama currently owns the top spot, not even it will feature two of the top three teams in the country. Georgia, at the time, was No. 1 with Alabama at No. 4.

For the undefeated Buckeyes and Oregon Ducks, they’ll play the first top-three matchup of the season and NBC’s first matchup of that magnitude since 1993.

That matchup was FSU and Notre Dame, two teams both ranked to start this season, and it was labeled the “Game of the Century.” Let’s hope that’s what fans get Saturday.

Ohio State will head to Eugene for this game, and it is going to be its first real test of the season, having yet to play a ranked opponent.

If the Buckeyes defense holds up, as they have in the past several weeks, their offense should generate enough to come out as one of the only undefeated teams remaining.
