Former Georgia LB Natrez Patrick signs to LA Rams practice squad

Former Georgia football LB Natrez Patrick has signed to the Los Angeles Rams practice squad.

The Los Angeles Rams have signed former Georgia linebacker Natrez Patrick to their 2020 practice squad.

Patrick didn’t have the smoothest collegiate career in terms of off-field incidents.  He was arrested three times for marijuana related charges during his time in Athens but was never dismissed from the team. Patrick served a four game suspension and had to watch the 2018 Rose Bowl from his in-patient rehab center.

Patrick also had to miss out on playing in the CFP National Championship game despite a “penny-sized” amount of the marijuana being found in his teammate’s car and being claimed by the vehicle’s owner.  Charges against Patrick were subsequently dropped shortly after.

Patrick played at Georgia from 2015-2018, totaling 160 tackles, two sacks and one pass deflection.  He was named a preseason All-SEC honoree by Athlon Sports before the 2018 season, even after being suspended for four games the year prior.

Patrick was not drafted in the 2019 NFL Draft but was signed as a free agent by the Rams on April 29th of 2019.  The Rams released Patrick on September 5th of 2020 but have now added him onto their practice squad.
