WATCH: Tua Tagovailoa’s agent says doctors are ‘quite sure’ of full recovery ahead of draft

Former Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa’s agent is assuring teams that his client will recover fully in time for a comprehensive pro day ahead of the draft.

Former Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa made the public decision to enter the 2020 NFL Draft, foregoing another season in Tuscaloosa.

Now Tua’s agent, Leigh Steinberg, is assuring teams that his client will recover fully in time for a comprehensive pro day ahead of the draft.

“The [intention] there is the ball never touches the ground and I think he’s gonna blow away teams in that process,” Steinberg said according to Alabama.com this week, adding that doctors remain “quite sure,” that the QB will make a full recovery from his hip surgery in November.

While he was tabbed as a potential number one pick at the beginning of the 2019 college season, the emergence of Joe Burrow and Tagovailoa’s own injuries caused his stock to drop.

But healthy, Tua still projects into the first round according to some analysts.

Before dislocating and suffering a fracture in his hip in November, Tua underwent tightrope surgery on his right ankle in October. He underwent the same procedure on the left ankle in December 2018.

The former National Championship Offensive MVP will not be ready to participate fully in the combine in late February, but he will go to indy for interviews with teams. The approach there, according to Steinberg, is full transparency.

Tua will also be talking on radio row at the super bowl in early February.

He will either take part in Alabama’s pro day in March or have one of his own. Regardless of the circumstances, Steinberg says Tua will hold a 40-minute session in which he makes 60 to 80 throws in front of scouts before the draft begins April 23.
