5-star MSU Basketball recruiting target Karim Mane still undecided on entering NBA Draft

Big time Michigan State Basketball recruiting target Karim Mane is reportedly still on the fence about his future.

[jwplayer s7XWZWNR]

While Michigan State fans are asking questions about Xavier Tillman and Aaron Henry’s future, there is also another player who is deciding between MSU (and other schools) and the NBA Draft. Karim Mane has been a major recruiting target for Tom Izzo as a player who could come in this year and make an impact, but, according to Peter Yannopoulos of Montreal’s 919sports, he is reportedly still undecided on his future plans.

Rivals, who ranks Mane as a 5-star point guard, currently have Mane projected to commit to Michigan State. However, Mane has also entered the NBA Draft process, but similarly to Xavier Tillman and Aaron Henry, has kept his college eligibility through that process.

Mane is an impact player who could come in and immediately compete for a starting guard position. If he does decide to stay in school, and heads to Michigan State, it would be yet another big recruiting victory for Tom Izzo in a summer that has been filled with recruiting wins.

Michigan State Basketball to meet with 2021 4-star F James Graham III on Monday

Michigan State and Tom Izzo will virtually meet with James Graham III on Monday.

[jwplayer kNTQw49L]

Michigan State Basketball and Tom Izzo have already put together an impressive 2021 recruiting class with the additions of Max Christie and Pierre Brooks (and Emoni Bates could still join that class as well), and now they will look to round that class out. According to Jake Weingarten of Stockrisers, Tom Izzo and his staff will meet virtually with 4-star forward James Graham III to discuss his recruitment to Michigan State on Monday.

It seems as though the last recruiting spot for 2021 is coming down to two players. Graham is one of those targets and the other would be Jaden Akins. I think both players would be a great fit with Izzo and the Spartans but it does seem like Graham might fit slightly more of a need for MSU. Akins is a point guard, and in 2021 MSU will also have AJ Hoggard and Pierre Brooks at that position, and hypothetically will still have Rocket Watts there as well unless he makes an early jump to the pros. Graham on the other hand can play both forward positions and would fit nicely next to Bates in the forward slot if Bates does reclassify.

3-star center Michael Myslinski visiting in East Lansing with MSU Football on Saturday

Michigan State will host a 3-star prospect for an in-person visit on campus tomorrow.

[jwplayer kNTQw49L]

Despite some recent concerns in the Big Ten regarding the global pandemic, it looks like Michigan State will resume in-person recruiting visits as 2021 3-star center Michael Myslinski is set to visit with MSU Football on Saturday.

Myslinski is the No. 12 ranked center in the 2021 recruiting class according to the 247Sports rankings and their No. 102 ranked player in the state of Florida. Myslinski currently attends Bishop Kenny High School in Jacksonville, Florida.

247Sports currently has Myslinski projected to commit to Iowa but with only a 3/10 confidence level.

Here is Myslinski’s announcement that he’ll be in town tomorrow, accompanied by yet another slick graphic from the MSU social media team:

MSU Basketball’s Mady Sissoko is the No. 3 ranked incoming freshman in Big Ten

Incoming Michigan State freshman Mady Sissoko is the No. 3 ranked recruit in the Big Ten.

[jwplayer 2TGD1KWP]

Michigan State Basketball fans are still waiting to hear if Xavier Tillman will be returning to MSU for his senior year or not, but the hypothetical heir apparent to his role will definitely be joining the team this year and that is Mady Sissoko from Mount Pleasant, Utah. There is a ton of excitement around the 4-star big man this year, and today, it was pointed out by FOX College Hoops that Sissoko is the third highest-ranked recruit coming to the Big Ten this year according to the 247Sports composite rankings.

Sissoko has a 0.9850 composite ranking and is the No. 39 overall ranked player in his class. Only Indiana’s Khristian Lander and Illinois’ Adam Miller have higher-ranked incoming recruits.

Here is the list of the best recruit on each Big Ten team, ranked. Note that these aren’t the top-14 recruits, just the top recruit from each team:

Sissoko will be joined this year by fellow freshman AJ Hoggard, who is the No. 72 ranked player in the 247Sports composite rankings with a score of 0.9719.

Michigan State Football makes top ten for 3-star safety Kaleb Edwards

MSU Football has landed in the top ten for the recruitment of Dacula, Georgia’s Kaleb Edwards.

Michigan State has managed to cast a wide net in football recruiting over the offseason despite some difficult circumstances, consistently dipping into the south to compete against major programs for top talents. The latest evidence of these efforts came on Monday when 2021 3-star safety Kaleb Edwards announced that MSU was in his current top ten for recruiting.

Edwards is the No. 46 ranked player in the state of Georgia according to 247Sports‘ composite rankings and the No. 43 ranked safety in the 2021 class. Edwards currently plays for Dacula High School.

Michigan State joins fellow Big Ten squads Iowa and Indiana in Edwards’ top ten. 247Sports currently has him projected to head to Notre Dame.

For those wondering about his height, he is 6’0″.

Report: Still ‘no timetable’ for 4-star MSU Basketball recruiting target Jaden Akins commitment

4-star point guard Jaden Akins has met with six schools but still doesn’t have a timetable for return according to Jake Lieberman.

[jwplayer QMbY3roD]

In a week where MSU Basketball fans got some exciting news with the reveal that Joshua Langford is hoping to play for the Spartans next season, it looks like they will have to wait a little longer to find out the fate of 2021 4-star recruiting target Jaden Akins. According to Jake Lieberman of Prep Hoops, the 2021 point guard prospect has already had visits with six teams but doesn’t have a timetable for his commitment yet.

Akins has visited with Michigan State a few times this year, taking an unofficial visit back in March for the Ohio State basketball game and then a virtual visit in April.

Michigan State already landed the No. 1 ranked player (per 247Sports) in the State of Michigan when Pierre Brooks committed back in late April, so it would be extremely impressive if they can also earn the commitment of Akins, who is the No. 2 ranked player in the state according to 247Sports. Brooks and Akins would be a stellar backcourt for Izzo starting in 2021, and they could join Rocket Watts and AJ Hoggard in splitting those opportunities if those players are still there at that time.

It would be even more impressive considering the fact that both players are local and both were also pursued in recruitment by Michigan and Juwan Howard.

Akins also had visits with Louisville, Northwestern, DePaul, and Iowa State, as you can see in Lieberman’s tweet with the report above.

Michigan State originally offered Coleman back in mid-march and it looks like they have made a strong impression on the talented wide receiver who currently plays for Opelousas Catholic. The 6’4″ Coleman is the No. 8 ranked player in the state of Louisiana and the No. 48 ranked wide receiver in the 2021 recruiting class according to 247Sports.

Michigan State is joined by Florida State, South Carolina, Mississippi State, Kansas, and Oklahoma in Coleman’s top-6.

Michigan State has made the top-20 for the recruitment of 4-star tight end Michael Trigg out of Seffner Christian Academy.

[jwplayer gcEn4Lgq]

Michigan State has taken a significant step forward in the recruitment of one of the top tight ends in the country as 2021 4-star TE Michael Trigg announced his top-20 on Sunday and the Spartans were included in that list.

Trigg is reportedly close with Spartan commit Charles Brantley, another 4-star player out of Florida. Trigg is the No. 3 ranked tight end in the 2021 class according to 247Sports and the No. 16 ranked player in the state of Florida. Trigg is currently projected by 247Sports to commit to Florida State but a lot could change before that commitment is made.

Trigg currently attends Seffner Christian Academy where he is also a talented basketball prospect. Rivals has him ranked as a 3-star shooting guard.

Michigan State Football offers 2022 LB, three sport standout Stone Blanton

Michigan State has offered a talented three-sport athlete in LB Stone Blanton out of Madison-Ridgeland Academy.

[jwplayer suVRxsS0]

Stone Blanton is a three-sport standout at Madison-Ridgeland High School in Madison, Mississippi where he plays inside linebacker for the football team, pitches, and plays in the outfield for the baseball team, and is also a state high jump champion. While Blanton has already given some level of commitment to Mississippi State to play baseball, he has started to rack up football offers to some major programs, and Michigan State was the last to offer him a scholarship.

He announced the offer on Monday:

Given that Blanton won’t be graduating high school in 2022, there is still plenty up in the air regarding his recruitment. He currently has offers from Arkansas, Baylor, Georgia Tech, Mississippi State, Oregon, Tennessee, Nebraska, FAU and Jacksonville State and those offers could continue to roll in.

Here is a feature on Blanton from his local news outlet:
