MSU LB Jordan Turner’s targeting appeal was unsuccessful, will miss first half vs. IU

Michigan State football will be without one of its key defensive players for the first half vs. Indiana on Saturday

Michigan State football will be without one of its key defensive players for the first half vs. Indiana on Saturday.

Spartans head coach Jonathan Smith confirmed on Monday that linebacker Jordan Turner will be out for the first half of Saturday’s tilt vs. the Hoosiers due to his targeting ejection against Michigan. According to Smith, the Spartans appealed the call but it was rejected, and thus, Turner will miss the first half on Saturday.

If you get a targeting penalty in the second half of a game, you’ll be suspended for the first half of the next game. That is the case here with Turner.

Michigan State and Indiana will take the field at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday from Spartan Stadium. The Spartans come into this game with a 4-4 record while Indiana is a perfect 8-0 on the year.
