Michigan State football will reportedly host an Auburn transfer wide receiver for a visit next week.

Pete Nakos of On3 is reporting that Ja’Varrius Johnson will visit Michigan State next week. He visited UCF already and will also visit Arizona this week, according to Nakos.

Johnson is listed as a three-star transfer prospect on 247Sports. He’s ranked as the No. 89 wide receiver in the portal class.

Johnson has 64 career receptions for 1,114 receiving yards and eight touchdowns. This past season in particular, he had 347 receiving yards and four total touchdowns (three receiving and one rushing) for the Tigers.

A former Michigan State football transfer portal commit has a new home.

Wide receiver TJ Sheffield announced on Monday that he has committed to UConn. Sheffield made the announcement via X.

Sheffield transferred to Michigan State from Purdue in December, but never suited up for the Spartans this past spring. He officially decommitted from Michigan State in March, according to 247Sports.

Michigan State reserve offensive lineman Braden Miller will reportedly enter the transfer portal.

Corey Robinson of 247Sports has reported that Miller is “expected” to enter the transfer portal — which opened for the spring period on Tuesday. The transfer portal will remain open until April 30.

Miller appeared in three games during his two years with Michigan State. He was previously a three-star recruit out of Aurora, Colo. in the 2022 class.

Michigan State football picked up a massive transfer prospect on Saturday evening.

Former Holy Cross offensive tackle Luke Newman committed to Michigan State on Saturday night. Newman announced the commitment via social media.

Newman — who played high school football for Brother Rice in Michigan — was a previous FCS All-American and all-conference selection while at Holy Cross. He had received interest from numerous Big Ten and power five programs, including Illinois, Vanderbilt, Kentucky, Purdue and Wake Forest.

A former Spartan has a new home back in the Lone Star State.

Defensive lineman Tunmise Adeleye has committed to Texas State out of the transfer portal. Tunmise transferred to Michigan State from Texas A&M ahead of the 2023 season but left midyear following the firing of Mel Tucker.

In his short stint with the Spartans, Adeleye appeared in six games where he recorded nine tackles and one forced fumble.

Michigan State football has picked up another nice addition via the transfer portal.

Old Dominion transfer linebacker Wayne Matthews announced on Wednesday that he’s committed to Michigan State. Matthews starred for Old Dominion the past two years and has two years of eligibility left.

According to Justin Thind of 247Sports, Matthews ranked as Pro Football Focus’ No. 44 linebacker (out of 775) during the 2023 season. He recorded 135 tackles and 9.5 tackles for loss this past season.

The Spartans picked up a massive quarterback transfer from the portal on Thursday when former Oregon State Beaver Aidan Chiles committed to Michigan State. Chiles will be following his former head coach at Oregon State — Jonathan Smith — to East Lansing, Mich.

Chiles is a former four-star, top-100 recruit in the 2023 class and was impressive in his small sample-size appearances this past year as a true freshman. He was considered the top quarterback prospect in the transfer portal by 247Sports this year.

Allen Trieu of 247Sports is reporting that Michigan State is one of the schools that Holy Cross offensive lineman transfer Luke Newman is considering. Newman is an FCS All-American and played his high school football at Bloomfield Hills Brother Rice.

According to Trieu, the schools Newman has narrowed in on include Michigan State, Illinois, Purdue, Vanderbilt, Kentucky and Wake Forest.

Michigan State football has extended a scholarship offer to a big-time Division II transfer portal wide receiver target.

The Spartans are still in pursuit of a wide receiver in the transfer portal and they are now trying to land former Pittsburg State slot receiver Christian Carter. He announced an offer from the Spartans via Twitter on Sunday.

During the 2022 season, Carter recorded 51 receptions for 692 yards and five touchdowns for the Gorillas and will have two years of eligibility remaining.

Since entering the portal earlier this week, Carter has received offers from Texas A&M, Western Kentucky, San Diego State, New Mexico State, Utah State, Ball State, Kent State and a few FCS programs.
