Auburn’s Johni Broome immediately regretted slapping Morgan Freeman’s hand after realizing who was grabbing him

Probably not how you envision meeting Morgan Freeman.

It’s not everyday you get to meet one of your favorite celebrities, and most people don’t envision it going the way it went for Auburn’s Johni Broome Saturday.

Late in the second half of Auburn’s game at Ole Miss, the junior big man was standing on the sideline when a fan started tugging at the bottom of his jersey. Without looking back, Broome swiped the fan’s hand off of him, only to turn around and realize it was none other than Morgan Freeman. Broome apologized almost immediately before giving a proper introduction.

After the game, Broome said he thought it was just an Ole Miss fan trying to hold on to him. He’s not exactly wrong. Freeman is a Mississippi native who frequents Ole Miss games. The Academy Award winner just wasn’t the fan Broome envisioned when he brushed him off.

Broome said he’s a big movie guy and probably watched one of Freeman’s films on the flight to the game. “But I realized it was him, I’m like ‘Oh my gosh, I’m a big fan. Sorry.’ And he just said keep playing,” Broome explained.

That’s something he’ll remember forever.

WATCH: Legendary actor Morgan Freeman says he’s a big Chiefs fan

Legendary actor Morgan Freeman says he’s a big Kansas City #Chiefs fan and not interested in Travis Kelce’s relationship with Taylor Swift.

The Kansas City Chiefs have numerous celebrity fans who are proud members of the Chiefs Kingdom. Each has strong opinions and never hides their fandom whenever asked publicly.

The usual names of Paul Rudd, Eric Stonestreet, and recently vocal fan Henry Winkler show their support often. A new celebrity name to be added is legendary actor Morgan Freeman, who revealed during an interview with CBS Mornings his love for the team but not the consistent Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift romance talks.

“I don’t think about them… at all,” said Freeman regarding Kelce and Swft’s relationship. “It’s great to watch Pat (Patrick Mahomes) run. You know, escape. He’s got a rifle for an arm; that’s all good. That’s what I’m interested in.”

Freeman appeared on the national talk show to discuss the new Netflix documentary series, “Life on Our Planet.” He narrates the series, which is executive-produced by Steven Spielberg.

Chiefs fan Morgan Freeman has no interest in Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s love life

Morgan Freeman said what he said.

Morgan Freeman is a big fan of Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs, but Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s relationship is not keeping him up at night.

When you’re the Kansas City Chiefs, you’re bound to get a lot of attention. The franchise has won two Super Bowls in the last four years and is led by quarterback Patrick Mahomes, a human cheat code.

The Chiefs’ also have a future Hall of Fame tight end in Travis Kelce, who happens to be dating Taylor Swift,  one of the biggest pop stars in the world — no big deal.

So, it shouldn’t be surprising that the Chiefs have acting royalty within their fanbase: the “voice of God” himself, Morgan Freeman.

Freeman was recently on CBS Mornings to talk about a new Netflix documentary he’s narrating. During his segment, he was asked to speak about his Chiefs fandom and his thoughts about Kelce dating Swift.

“I don’t think about them at all,” Freeman said flatly. Welp.

The legendary actor quickly followed that up with a laugh before explaining all he cared about was touchdowns, winning and watching Mahomes use his “rifle” of an arm. Priorities.

Sorry, Chiefs fans and Swifties. Morgan Freeman likely won’t be narrating anything “Swelce” related any time soon.

Bummer.
