Jared Dudley shares basketball stories on the Tidal Leauge Podcast with Theo Pinson, including a story about basketball camp with Michael Jordan.

Former NBA player Jared Dudley joined [autotag]Theo Pinson[/autotag] on the Tidal League podcast to share a story about the time he played alongside Michael Jordan at a camp that may have led to him getting drafted by the Charlotte Bobcats.

Pinson was back on the couch for another classic interview featuring Dudley, talking basketball and sharing stories. According to Dudley, during his senior year, he attended one of Jordan’s camps in Santa Barbara and had the opportunity to play on Jordan’s team.

Dudley explains how he delivered one of his best shooting performances, impressing Jordan.

The Bobcats selected Dudley with the 22nd overall pick in the 2007 NBA draft. Dudley built quite the resume in both college and the pros. He was 2X All-ACC, 2006-07 ACC player of the year, and averaged 15.9 points and 7.2 rebounds in four years at Boston College. Dudley had a lengthy career in the NBA, retiring after 14 seasons and an NBA championship with the Lakers in 2020.

Dudley now serves as an assistant coach for the Dallas Mavericks.

Warriors rookie salutes Steve Kerr’s 1997 NBA Finals game-winning jumper during ‘The Last Dance’

Eric Paschall chimed in on Twitter after Steve Kerr’s game-winning shot from the 1997 NBA Finals was the focus of attention in “The Last Dance” documentary.

In episode eight of “The Last Dance,” Steve Kerr’s most significant moment as a member of the Chicago Bulls was the focus of attention. While Michael Jordan was the centerpiece of Chicago’s championship dynasty, it was Golden State’s head coach who sealed The Bulls’ fate in 1997.

With 28 seconds remaining in game six of the 1997 NBA Finals, the Bulls had the ball with the game locked at 86 against the Utah Jazz. Although Jordan had a long resume of game-winning shots, the five-time Most Valuable Player dished the ball to Kerr with six seconds remaining.

Kerr drilled a top of the key jumper for the last shot of the game to give the Bulls an 88-86 lead. The Jazz turned over the final possession, sealing Chicago’s fifth championship.

After Kerr’s iconic shot was documented in the Jordan-era film, one Warriors rookie went to social media to salute his coach’s memorable moment. Eric Paschall tweeted, “big shot coach!!”

Before Steve Kerr roamed the sidelines in the Bay Area, the Golden State Warriors head coach played guard alongside Michael Jordan with the Chicago Bulls.

After playing for Phoenix, Cleveland and Orlando, Kerr found a home with Jordan, Scottie Pippen and Phil Jackson in Chicago. The former Arizona Wildcat played a significant role in Jordan’s second championship 3-peat with the Bulls.

In five seasons, Kerr averaged 8.2 points on 50.7% shooting from the field, with 47.9% from beyond the arc. The decorated NBA champion added 2.2 assists and 1.5 rebounds in 23.2 minutes per game during his stint with the Bulls.

Throughout the airing of “The Last Dance,” Kerr’s been a featured character in the 10-part documentary. Kerr’s game-winning shot in game six of the 1997 NBA Finals, along with his infamous fight with Jordan in practice have been chronicled in the 30 For 30 series.

How did Michael Jordan fare against the Golden State Warriors?

Over the last month, ESPN has provided an in-depth look at the Michael Jordan era Chicago Bulls. “The Last Dance” has chronicled Jordan’s rise from his time at Chapel Hill to the top of the NBA mountain.

The 30 for 30 series has pulled back the curtain on the Bulls’ rivalry with the Detroit Pistons and the New York Knicks. Jordan’s battles with Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Isiah Thomas, Penny Hardaway and Shaquille O’Neal have all been highlighted throughout the documentary.

Like many, the Golden State Warriors struggled against Jordan’s Bulls. The Warriors stamped a 9-17 record against Jordan over his career. For the Warriors — a mix of Latrell Sprewell, Sarunas Marciulionis and the Run TMC trio led the way against Jordan.

In 26 games over his career, Jordan averaged 28.8 points on 50.8% shooting from the field and 41.5% shooting from beyond the arc. The five-time Most Valuable Player added 6.7 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 2.4 steals per game for the Bulls.
