But, the Dodgers are MLB’s best team and have won 26 of their last 30 games. Also, L.A. has one of the better farm systems in baseball so Pepiot being one of the Dodgers’ top prospects inspires confidence.

LEAN UNDER 9.5 (+110) because Gray has bounced back nicely this season after a couple of down-years in Cincy and Pepiot has elite stuff.

But, the Twins are 10-6 O/U in Gray starts and 17-7-1 O/U as road underdogs and L.A.’s lineup has the 2nd-best WAR and wRC+ over the past 14 days, per FanGraphs.

With the lack of runs the Blue Jays have been putting up (only 22 in their last 7 games), I don’t know that they’ll plate enough runs to cover the spread against a quality pitcher like Gray.

I also don’t like the Twins +1.5 (-165) because it would require a fair amount of risk for a low return. I’m going to PASS on the run line.

Over/Under

Though the total has gone Over in each of their first 3 meetings of the season, neither team has been scoring a ton recently. The Twins have scored at least 5 runs just once in their last 7 games and now they face Manoah.

LEAN PADRES (-150) because they are 4-1 straight up (SU) as home favorites of -140 or greater with Manaea on the mound.

Whereas the Twins (+125) are just 4-7 SU in Bundy’s road starts with a minus-27.0% return on investment (ROI).

Also, Bundy struggles when pitching on short rest. He is 1-2 with a 7.26 ERA and 1.68 WHIP in 4 days of rest, both are the worst marks for any of Bundy’s rest splits this season.

It’s only a LEAN to the PADRES (-150) because the Over is my favorite look in this game and the line is moving toward the Twins (+125) even though nearly 80% of the action is on San Diego, per Pregame.com. This line movement means oddsmakers could be laying a trap with the Padres.

Snell has found his groove this month after a really slow start to the year, San Diego is 6-2 overall following a rest day while the Twins (+102) are 3-7 after an off-day.

Also, San Diego’s bullpen is 8th in WAR (3.1) and 7th in FIP (3.71) whereas Minnesota’s bullpen is 29th in WAR (-0.1) and 26th in FIP (4.29), according to FanGraphs.

Lastly, I’m seeing some “reverse line movement” headed toward San Diego in the betting market. Roughly 60% of the action is on the Twins according to Pregame.com but the Padres’ ML has been increased from a -115 opener.

Also, I need to see a couple more quality starts out of Snell before laying it with the Padres on the RL.

LEAN UNDER 7.5 (-108).

These teams are a combined 10-16 O/U when these starters get the nod, San Diego’s lineup has subpar numbers vs. right-handed pitching and Petco Park is last in park factor aka the most pitcher-friendly venue in the majors.

However, these teams also have a combined 11-5-2 O/U following a rest day, the Padres are 6-0-1 O/U vs. AL teams and the Twins are 14-6-1 O/U as road underdogs.

PASS because the Twins are a feisty 13-7 RL as road underdogs whereas the Brewers are just 16-28 at home.

The Twins are in the top half of the league as far as K’s per game goes, but Cease is a different animal. Chicago has won 5 of Cease’s last 6 starts, and they crawl back to .500 into the break. The Sox are 28-19 on the RL on the road, which is one of the better marks in MLB. Two factors strike me here: the White Sox pitch better on the road with a 3.55 ERA vs. a 4.49 ERA at home. They also favor day games with a 3.61 ERA vs. 4.39 at night. The only worry here is what happens after Cease likely leaves the game in the 7th inning. Chicago’s bullpen has been an issue as it’s 18th in baseball with a 3.93 ERA.

Minnesota’s ML has been steamed from -149 up to the current number per Pregame.com and that type of line movement in a division game is jarring.

Also, the Twins’ lineup outperforms the White Sox vs. right-handed pitching in several advanced hitting stats such as wRC+ (118-88), wOBA (.331-.290), ISO (.178-.112), BB/K rate (0.39-0.29) and hard-hit rate (34.8-27.0%), per FanGraphs.

Finally, Gray has a 34.7% K-rate in 75 plate appearances (PA) vs. Chicago’s lineup with a .197 batting average, per Statcast. Whereas Cueto has an 18.4% K-rate with a .407 expected wOBA and .552 expected slugging percentage.

Also, Minnesota’s lineup outperforms Chicago’s vs. right-handed pitching in runs per 9 (4.77-3.88), wRC+ (106-102), wOBA (.321-.315) and hard-hit rate (34.7-31.1%), according to FanGraphs.

Finally, Minnesota’s bullpen outranks Chicago’s in ERA (4.22-3.78), WHIP (1.35-1.24), K/BB rate (2.58-2.45), swing-and-miss rates and contact rates, per FanGraphs.

The Twins +1.5 (-180) is out of my price range even though the White Sox -1.5 (+145) are just 7-19 RL as home favorites and I’m not confident enough in them to lay it with Minnesota’s alternate RL.

Over/Under

LEAN UNDER 9.5 (-120) only because Minnesota’s ML is my favorite look in the Twins-White Sox game.

But, there’s a “Pros vs. Joe’s” scenario in the betting market for the total and Twins-White Sox has a 9-16 O/U record when these starters get the nod.

More than 70% of the money is on the Under while nearly two-thirds of the bets placed are on the Over according to Pregame.com.
