[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Minnesota Twins (33-29) and Pittsburgh Pirates (29-33) begin a 3-game series Friday. First pitch from PNC Park is slated for 6:40 p.m. ET (Apple TV+). Let’s analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Twins vs. Pirates odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: First meeting; Twins won 2 of 3 in 2023

Minnesota was swept by the New York Yankees after falling 8-5 on Thursday night. They were outscored 22-11 in the 3-game series in the Bronx. RHP Pablo Lopez was knocked around for 7 ER, lasting only 4 innings. The Twins got solo shots from SS Carlos Correa and C Christian Vazquez. They are 2-4 during their current 9-game road trip, which concludes in Pittsburgh.

The Pirates failed to complete the sweep of the Los Angeles Dodgers on Thursday night, falling 11-7. LHP Bailey Falter struggled through 4 innings, giving up 5 ER on 8 hits. SS Oneil Cruz had a big night in the loss, going 2-for-5 with a 3-run HR. Pittsburgh has won 4 of its last 6 games at PNC Park.

Twins at Pirates projected starters

RHP Joe Ryan vs. RHP Mitch Keller

Ryan (4-4, 3.38 ERA) makes his 13th start. He has a 1.01 WHIP, 1.4 BB/9 and 9.6 K/9 in 72 IP.

  • Last start: Loss, 5 IP, 5 ER, 8 H, 2 BB, 4 K in 5-2 loss at the Houston Astros Saturday
  • Career vs Pirates: 1-3, 8.53 ERA (19 IP, 18 ER) in 4 starts

Twins at Pirates picks and predictions

Prediction

Pirates 5, Twins 2

Moneyline.

BET PIRATES (+108).

I’m pleasantly surprised to see the Pirates getting plus money at home against a struggling Twins team. You should jump all over the Bucs especially with  Keller on the mound. He owned Minnesota last year striking out 12 in 6 innings. Keller has been lights out, allowing a total of 5 ER over his last 5 starts (33 2/3 IP). The Twins are batting only .219 as a team against righties.

The Twins are floundering on this road trip and the Pirates will take advantage of that on Friday night and I have a feeling over the course of this 3-game set.

Run line/Against the spread

PASS.

I’m putting my unit bet on the moneyline and will avoid the run line.

Over/Under

PASS.

My lean is to the Under (+100) but I don’t see an edge to officially make a recommendation. I’m confident that Keller shuts down this Twins lineup, but I’m worried that the Pirates offense may push the game Over. So, I’ll just stay away.

Minnesota Twins at New York Yankees odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Thursday’s Minnesota Twins at New York Yankees odds and lines, with MLB expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The New York Yankees (44-19) welcome the Minnesota Twins (33-28) to Yankee Stadium Thursday for the finale of their 3-game series. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Twins vs. Yankees odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: Yankees lead 5-0

The Yankees have won and covered every game in the series — and in every game in the season series. They beat the Twins 5-1 Tuesday and then 9-5 Wednesday.

New York is 20-8 at home this season and has won 7 in a row. It has scored at least 5 runs in 6 straight games. The Yankees sit atop the AL East and are 37-25 against the spread (ATS).

The Twins are 17-15 on the road and have struggled as of late, losing 3 of their last 4. They are still 5-4 over their last 9 and sit in 3rd place in the AL Central. Minnesota is 27-34 ATS.

Twins at Yankees projected starters

RHP Pablo Lopez vs. RHP Marcus Stroman

Lopez (5-5, 4.84 ERA) makes his 13th start. He has a 1.15 WHIP, 1.5 BB/9 and 10.1 K/9 in 67 IP.

  • Last start: Win, 7 IP, 1 ER, 6 H, 1 BB, 6 K in a 6-1 road win over the Houston Astros Friday
  • 2024 road splits: 3-2, 5.03 ERA (34 IP, 19 ER), 30 H, 8 HR, 6 BB, 40 K in 6 starts
  • Career vs. Yankees: 0-2, 2.95 ERA (18 1/3 IP, 6 ER), 1.42 WHIP, 6.9 K/9 in 3 starts

Stroman (5-2, 2.73 ERA) makes his 13th start. He has a 1.23 WHIP, 3.8 BB/9 and 7.1 K/9 in 69 1/3 IP.

  • Last start: Win, 7 1/3 IP, 2 ER, 6 H, 2 BB, 2 K in a 6-2 road win over the San Francisco Giants Friday
  • 2024 home splits: 1-2, 3.38 ERA (34 2/3 IP, 13 ER), 29 H, 6 HR, 14 BB, 36 K in 6 starts
  • Career vs. Twins: 2-4, 4.95 ERA (40 IP, 22 ER), 1.38 WHIP, 5.4 K/9 in 7 starts

Twins at Yankees picks and predictions

Prediction

Yankees 6, Twins 3

Moneyline

PASS.

The Yankees are just too steep here to suggest taking them outright on the moneyline. They have dominated the Twins this season and this series and have performed well at home, so take the home side on the run line for the better value.

Run line/Against the spread

BET YANKEES -1.5 (+134).

The Yankees are on fire right on and have been rewarding bettors at a high rate. They have won their last 2 games against the Twins a combined 14-6 and have covered in both. They are 10-3 ATS in their last 13 games, losing 2 and winning just 1 by 1.

New York has covered in 3 of Stroman’s last 4 starts as well, including a 4-0 win at Minnesota on May 15. The Yankees are 15-13 ATS as a home favorite while Minnesota is just 16-16 ATS, which ranks in the bottom half of the league, as a road underdog.

Take New York to cover and back YANKEES -1.5 (+134).

Over/Under

BET OVER 8.5 (-105).

New York has been dominant because its offense has been red hot. The Yankees have gone north of the total in 5 of their last 6 games, scoring at least 5 in all 6 and allowing at least 3 in 4 of the 6 games.

The Twins have gone Over in just 2 of their last 6, but they have scored at least 4 in 4 of those. Both offenses have consistently produced as of late. Back OVER 8.5 (-105).

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The New York Yankees (43-19) face the Minnesota Twins (33-27) Wednesday in the 2nd game of their 3-game series at Yankee Stadium. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Twins vs. Yankees odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: Yankees lead 4-0

New York defeated Minnesota 5-1 Tuesday, closing as a -173 favorite.  CF Aaron Judge led the team with 2 hits and 2 RBIs.

The Yankees are surging, having won 6 in a row. They have won 10 of their last 12 as well. New York sits atop the AL East and has covered the spread in 5 straight games. It is 36-25 against the spread (ATS) on the season.

The Twins have traded off winning and losing over their last 4 games, beating the Astros in 2 of 3 prior to facing New York. Minnesota is 9-4 over its last 13 and sits 3rd in the AL Central. It is 27-33 ATS on the season.

Twins at Yankees projected starters

RHP Chris Paddack vs. LHP Carlos Rodon

Paddack (4-2, 4.57 ERA) makes his 12th start. He has a 1.38 WHIP, 1.8 BB/9 and 8.0 K/9 in 61 IP.

  • Last start: No-decision, 5 2/3 IP, 4 ER, 5 H, 2 BB, 4 K in a 7-6 home win over the Kansas City Royals on May 30
  • 2024 road splits: 1-1, 6.85 ERA (22 1/3 IP, 17 ER), 29 H, 5 HR, 4 BB, 12 K in 4 starts
  • Career vs. Yankees: 0-2, 8.10 ERA (10 IP, 9 ER), 2.10 WHIP, 9.0 K/9 in 2 starts

Rodon (7-2, 3.09 ERA) makes his 13th start. He has a 1.13 WHIP, 2.7 BB/9 and 8.3 K/9 in 67 IP.

  • Last start: Win, 6 IP, 3 ER, 3 H, 1 BB, 5 K in a 8-3 road loss to the Los Angeles Angels on May 30

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3012″ ]

Twins at Yankees picks and predictions

Prediction

Yankees 6, Twins 3

Moneyline

PASS.

There’s no value in betting on the Yankees, and they have a significant pitching advantage. At -190, they aren’t worth a play, and they’re also too hot to bet against.

Run line/Against the spread

BET YANKEES -1.5 (+106).

The Yankees have covered in 5 straight games, winning by 4, 2, 4, 4, and 5 in those. They are 36-25 ATS on the season and 14-13 ATS at home. They are the 6th-best team in the MLB at covering as a home favorite.

Also, Minnesota is 8-8 ATS as a road underdog, which is the 6th-worst covering rate.

Given the advantage on the mound with Rodon, who has helped the Yankees cover in his last 5 starts, expect New York to win by multiple runs and take YANKEES -1.5 (+106).

Over/Under

BET OVER 8.5 (-105).

The Yankees have gone north of the total in 4 of their last 5 games, and their offense has been red hot. They have scored 6 or more in 4 of those games.

Minnesota, while it has gone Under in 4 straight, has tallied at least 4 runs in 3 of its last 5 games. Both offenses have been playing at a high level. Expect that to continue and take OVER 8.5 (-105).

Minnesota Twins at New York Yankees odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Tuesday’s Minnesota Twins at New York Yankees odds and lines, with MLB expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Minnesota Twins (33-26) and New York Yankees (42-19) open up a 3-game series at Yankee Stadium Tuesday. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. ET (MLB.TV Free Game of the Day). Let’s analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Twins vs. Yankees odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: Yankees lead 3-0

After sustaining a 7-game losing streak that began with a sweep at home against the Yankees May 14-16, Minnesota has reeled off 9 wins in their last 12 games. Minnesota cashed as a (+135) favorite with a 4-3 victory at the Houston Astros this past Sunday. Twins 3B Jose Miranda delivered a game-tying solo shot in the 6th inning and the eventual game-winning RBI double in the 8th, driving in OF Manuel Margot.

The Yankees have won 5 straight and most recently swept the San Francisco Giants in 3 games at Oracle Park over the weekend. RF Juan Soto homered twice and drove in 3 runs in Sunday’s 7-5 win as the Yanks cashed as (-130) favorites. Entering Tuesday, both the Yankees and Philadelphia Phillies are 42-19, good for the best records in MLB.

Twins at Yankees projected starters

RHP Bailey Ober vs. RHP Luis Gil

Ober (5-3, 4.89 ERA) makes his 12th start. He has a 1.11 WHIP, 1.9 BB/9 and 9.2 K/9 in 57 innings.

  • Last outing: Loss, 5 IP, 6 ER, 9 H, 0 BB, 4 K in 6-1 home setback vs. Kansas City Royals Wednesday
  • Out of 113 pitchers with at least 50 IP, only Astros RHP Justin Verlander has a higher fly-ball percentage (58.1%) than Ober (52.5%)

Gil (7-1, 1.99 ERA) makes his 12th start. He has a 0.95 WHIP, 4.4 BB/9 and 11.2 K/9 in 63 1/3 innings.

  • Last start: Win, 8 IP, 1 ER, 2 H, 2 BB, 9 K in 2-1 victory at Los Angeles Angels Wednesday
  • Generates highest infield fly-ball percentage (20.3%) in AL among qualified pitchers

Twins at Yankees picks and predictions

Prediction

Yankees 5, Twins 2

Moneyline

Consider adding Yankees (-178) to a moneyline parlay.

By all means, lay the juice if you are comfortable. I would rather take a shot getting +151 in a 2-leg parlay with the Yankees (-178) and Seattle Mariners (-164 at Oakland A’s, 9:40 p.m. ET).

Run line

BET YANKEES -1.5 (+112).

Gil, who was elevated from Triple-A because RHP Gerrit Cole suffered an elbow injury in March, is the favorite to win the AL Rookie of the Year award (+125 at FanDuel Sportsbook). The 26-year-old leads the majors in OBA (.134), and his Stuff+ rating on his fastball is 4th-highest among qualified pitchers.

Only 7 other teams have a lower OBP vs. RHP than Minnesota, and once Gil’s outing is complete, he’ll turn it over to a New York pen that sports the 2nd-lowest ERA (2.87) in the league. Expect a 5th straight victory by multiple runs for the Yankees over the Twins.

Over/Under

BET UNDER 8 (-110).

The Twins pen is not too shabby either, as they sport the 4th-lowest ERA in the AL. It won’t be too hot of a night in the Bronx and winds will be blowing slightly in from right, so I can’t imagine lefty bats like RF Max Kepler or LF Alex Kiriloff will be overly dangerous at the plate.

Minnesota Twins at Houston Astros odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s Minnesota Twins at Houston Astros odds and lines, with MLB expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Houston Astros (26-33) welcome the Minnesota Twins (32-26) to Minute Maid Park Sunday. First pitch in the 3-game series finale is set for 1:05 p.m. ET.  Let’s analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Twins vs. Astros odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: Tied 1-1

The Twins opened the series with a 6-1 victory over the Astros then lost 5-2 Saturday, closing as an underdog in each.

Minnesota has won 4 of its last 6 games, beating the Kansas City Royals in 3 of 4 in the series prior. Minnesota is 2-4 ATS in its last 6 games against the spread (ATS) and is 26-32 on the season. The Twins aren16-13 straight up on the road.

The Astros, who are 15-16 at home, sit 3rd in the AL West and have struggled to find much consistency, scoring just 1 or 2 runs in 4 of their last 6 games. They are 2-4 in those games. Houston is 26-32 ATS as well.

Twins at Astros projected starters

RHP Simeon Woods Richardson vs. RHP Hunter Brown

Woods Richardson (2-0, 2.70 ERA) makes his 9th start. He has a 1.10 WHIP, 2.0 BB/9 and 6.8 K/9 in 40 IP.

  • Last start: Win, 5 IP, 2 ER, 3 H, 2 BB, 4 K in a 4-2 home win over the Kansas City Royals Tuesday
  • 2024 road splits: 1-0, 3.00 ERA (24 IP, 8 ER), 24 H, 2 HR, 5 BB, 12 K in 5 starts
  • Has never faced the Astros

Brown (1-5, 6.39 ERA) makes his 11th start. He has a 1.64 WHIP, 4.4 BB/9 and 9.7 K/9 in 49 1/3 IP.

  • Last start: No-decision, 6 IP, 1 ER, 4 H, 0 BB, 9 K in a 4-2 road loss to the Seattle Mariners Tuesday
  • 2024 home splits: 1-2, 4.70 ERA (30 2/3 IP, 16 ER), 25 H, 6 HR, 17 BB, 28 K in 6 starts

Twins at Astros picks and predictions

Prediction

Twins 4, Astros 3

Moneyline

BET TWINS (+116).

The Twins have been on a roll as of late, winning 4 of their last 6 games as  their offense has been more dependable, scoring at least 4 runs in all 4 victories. They will also have a pitching advantage as Brown has struggled for most of the season.

With Houston sub-.500 at home and having scored 5 or fewer runs in 8 straight and 2 or fewer in 5 of those, it might not find the bats to come out on top in 2 in a row. Back the plus-money TWINS (+116).

Run line/Against the spread

PASS.

There’s just no great value here. The Astros -1.5 (+150) are too risky as a run-line favorite, and the Twins +1.5 (-188) are too expensive as a run-line underdog. Avoid this play.

Over/Under

BET UNDER 8.5 (-102).

Both teams have been heavily leaning toward the Under. The Twins have gone Under in 4 of their last 5 games and are 2-7-1 O/U in their last 10. They are 25-31-2 O/U on the season and have gone Under in 3 straight Woods Richardson starts.

The Astros have gone Under in 8 straight games and are 20-35-3 O/U on the season. They have gone Under in 2 straight starts by Brown and have allowed more than 4 runs in just 1 of their last 10 games.

Back UNDER 8.5 (-102).

The Twins won last year’s regular-season series 4-2.

The ASTROS (-115) have been a huge letdown this season, but they’re 8-1 in Blanco’s starts, and the 1 loss was on the road in extra innings. Blanco has allowed 2 ER or fewer in 8 of his 9 starts this year, while López has given up a total of 13 ER over his last 2 outings (9 2/3 IP).

BET ASTROS (-115).

Run line/Against the spread

This will most likely be a 1-run game, but laying -190 in MLB is a losing proposition long term.

PASS. Bet the ML and/or total instead.

Over/Under

The Under has hit in 6 straight Astros games, and Blanco’s last 3 starts have ended with 7 or fewer total runs scored. However, López has allowed a total of 25 hits over his last 3 starts (16 IP), and if Houston can take advantage, this Under will likely be in trouble.

LEAN UNDER 8 (-110).

Analyzing Thursday’s Kansas City Royals at Minnesota Twins odds and lines, with MLB expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Kansas City Royals (35-22) will finish off a 4-game series against the Minnesota Twins (30-25) on Thursday and will try to salvage a split. First pitch is set for 1:10 p.m. ET at Target Field. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Royals vs. Twins odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: Twins lead 4-2

After winning 8 games in a row, the Royals dropped 3 straight before getting back in the win column 6-1 on Wednesday as a +122 underdog.

The Twins have still won 6 of their last 8 games and are 6 1/2 games behind Cleveland in the AL Central race.

Royals at Twins projected starters

RHP Brady Singer vs. RHP Chris Paddack

Singer (4-2, 2.63 ERA) makes his 12th start. He has a 1.12 WHIP, 2.8 BB/9 and 9.3 K/9 in 61 2/3 IP.

  • Has allowed 1 ER or less in 8 of his 11 starts, including 5 of his last 6 outings
  • March 31 vs. Twins: Win, 7 IP,  0 ER, 3 H, 1BB, 10 K in 11-0 victory
  • In 4 road starts has a 3.60 ERA in 20 IP with a 20/9 K/BB and 3 HRs allowed

Paddack (4-2, 4.39 ERA) makes his 11th start. He has a 1.39 WHIP, 1.6 BB/9 and 8.1 K/9 in 55 1/3 IP.

  • Has a 3.07 ERA across 5 May starts, with a 29/4 K/BB in 29 1/3 IP
  • He’s been very good at home, posting a 2.73 ERA and 38/6 K/BB in 6 starts spanning 33 IP
  • Has issued a total of just 6 walks in his last 8 starts (1.2 BB/9).

Royals at Twins picks and predictions

Prediction

Royals 4, Twins 3

Moneyline

The Royals are 8-3 in Singer’s starts this season and he has performed at a very high level. They are 4-1 in his last 5 outings, during which time he has recorded a 30/6 K/BB in 27 1/3 IP.

The Royals sit 4 games ahead of the Twins in the standings and have a run differential of +81, compared to +2 for Minnesota. Look for the ROYALS +105 to come out on top in this game.

Run line/Against the spread

Singer has been excellent all season and both starting pitchers have been on a roll lately, which points to this being a close game throughout. Laying 2:1 odds on Kansas City keeping it within a run seems steep so it’s probably best to PASS on the RL and look for value elsewhere.

Over/Under

These 2 pitchers have been doing a great job of holding opposing offenses in check. This has the makings of a pitchers’ duel, as neither team is likely to have a big offensive day. A play on UNDER 8 (-115) looks like the way to go.

The Kansas City Royals (34-22) and Minnesota Twins (30-24) play the 3rd game of a 4-game set Wednesday. First pitch from Target Field is scheduled for 7:40 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Royals vs. Twins odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: Twins lead 4-1

The Royals lost 4-2 as -130 favorites in the 2nd game of the series Tuesday as the Under (7.5) hit. Kansas City has lost 3 straight games for the 1st time since a 3-game skid April 27-29.

RHP Simeon Woods Richardson got his 1st win in 8 starts for the Twins, who have won 6 of their last 7 games. Twins 3B José Miranda got the offense started early with a 2-run single in the 1st inning.

Royals at Twins projected starters

RHP Seth Lugo vs. RHP Bailey Ober

Lugo (8-1, 1.74 ERA) makes his 12th start. He has a 0.97 WHIP, 1.9 BB/9 and 7.6 K/9 in 72 1/3 IP.

  • Last start: Win, 7 IP, 1 ER, 4 H, 2 BB, 3 K in 8-1 victory at Tampa Bay Rays Friday
  • 2024 road stats: 5-0, 0.75 ERA (36 IP, 3 ER), 0.69 WHIP in 5 starts

Royals at Twins picks and predictions

Prediction

Royals 3, Twins 2

Moneyline

The market seems to have lost all confidence in the ROYALS (+110) after losing in a good spot Tuesday.

Lugo has won his last 5 decisions, and Ober has struggled against Kansas City in his career. This line seems like an overreaction to the Royals’ 3-game skid and Minnesota winning 6 of its last 7.

BET ROYALS (+110).

Run line/Against the spread

Kansas City +1.5 (-200) should hit, but laying -200 in MLB is a losing proposition long term.

PASS. Bet the ML and/or total instead.

Over/Under

The Under 4-1-1 in Minnesota’s last 6 games, and Ober has allowed 2 ER or fewer in all 4 home starts this season.

Lugo has given up 2 ER or fewer in 6 straight starts overall and allowed a total of just 3 ER over 5 road outings this year.

BET UNDER 7.5 (-120).

Kansas City Royals at Minnesota Twins odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Tuesday’s Kansas City Royals at Minnesota Twins odds and lines, with MLB expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Kansas City Royals (34-21) and Minnesota Twins (29-24) play the 2nd game a 4-game set at Target Field Tuesday. First pitch is scheduled for 7:40 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Royals vs. Twins odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: Twins lead 3-1

The Royals lost the series opener 6-5 as +154 underdogs Monday as the Over (8) hit. Kansas City has lost back-to-back games for the 1st time since a 2-game skid May 4-5.

The Twins have won 5 of their last 6 games. 3B José Miranda and LF Trevor Larnach both homered in the series opener for Minnesota, which cashed as a -168 favorite.

Royals at Twins projected starters

LHP Cole Ragans vs. RHP Simeon Woods Richardson

Ragans (4-3, 3.34 ERA) makes his 12th start. He has a 1.15 WHIP, 3.0 BB/9 and 11.0 K/9 in 62 IP.

  • Last start: Win, 6 IP, 0 R, 1 H, 3 BB, 12 K in 8-3 home victory vs. Detroit Tigers Wednesday
  • 2024 road stats: 1-1, 2.84 ERA (25 1/3 IP, 8 ER), 0.99 WHIP in 4 starts
  • 2024 vs. Twins: 0-1, 3.00 ERA (6 IP, 2 ER), 5 H, 3 BB, 9 K in 1 start, a 4-1 home loss Opening Day
  • Career vs. Twins: 0-1, 2.70 ERA (10 IP, 3 ER), 1.50 WHIP in 2 starts

Woods Richardson (1-0, 2.57 ERA) makes his 8th start. The rookie has a 1.11 WHIP, 1.8 BB/9 and 6.7 K/9 in 35 IP.

  • Last start: No-decision, 4 2/3 IP, 0 R, 3 H, 1 BB, 1 K in 3-2 win at Washington Nationals Wednesday
  • 2024 home stats: 0-0, 1.64 ERA (11 IP, 2 ER), 0.91 WHIP in 2 starts
  • Has never faced Royals before

Royals at Twins picks and predictions

Prediction

Royals 3, Twins 2

Moneyline

It’s unlikely that the ROYALS (-126) will lose 3 straight games for the 1st time since April 27-29. Ragans is on a 13-inning scoreless streak over his last 2 outings and shouldn’t lose to Minnesota twice in a season.

Woods Richardson has been consistent for Minnesota, allowing 2 or fewer runs in 6 of his 7 starts, but has only pitched more than 5 1/3 innings twice this season.

Kansas City and Minnesota are 6th and 13th, respectively, in runs per game, according to Teamrankings.com. The better offense has the advantage at starting pitcher and will likely bounce back after 2 straight losses.

BET ROYALS (-126).

Run line/Against the spread

Runs may be hard to come by with Ragans and Woods Richardson on the mound. Minnesota +1.5 (-156) is more likely to hit on the run line, but I wouldn’t recommend backing the Twins in any capacity against Ragans in this spot.

PASS. Bet the ML and/or total instead.

Over/Under

The Under is 3-1-1 in Minnesota’s last 5 games, and Woods Richardson has allowed a total of just 1 run over his last 2 starts. Ragans on the mound for Kansas City also makes me lean Under, but the risk here is that the Royals have scored 7 or more runs in 5 of their last 7 games.

LEAN UNDER 8 (-122).

Kansas City Royals at Minnesota Twins odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Monday’s Kansas City Royals at Minnesota Twins odds and lines, with MLB expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Kansas City Royals (34-20) and Minnesota Twins (28-24) open a 4-game series Monday at Target Field. First pitch is scheduled for 2:10 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Royals vs. Twins odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: Twins lead 2-1

The Royals suffered a 4-1 loss Sunday at the Tampa Bay Rays, snapping an 8-game winning streak. It was the first time since April 28 that Kansas City was limited to less than 2 runs in a single game.

Despite the loss, Kansas City is still averaging 6.8 runs per game (RPG) in the past 9 outings, which is well above the team’s already impressive 4.9 RPG season average, which ranks 6th in the majors. The Royals are 8th in the majors in both batting average (.252) and OPS (.726), according to Covers.com.

The Twins were also on the short end Sunday, falling 6-2 to the Texas Rangers at Target Field. That snapped a 4-game win streak. The Twins are averaging 4.8 RPG in the past 5 outings, while allowing just 2.6 RPG. The Under is on a 3-0-1 run in the past 4 games for Minnesota.

These teams haven’t met since the first series of the season March 28-31 in Kansas City, with Minnesota winning 2 of 3. The favorite is 2-1 in 3 meetings, with the Under going 2-1, too.

Royals at Twins projected starters

RHP Alec Marsh vs. RHP Joe Ryan

Marsh (4-1, 2.72 ERA) makes his 9th start. He has a 1.07 WHIP, 2.5 BB/9 and 7.5 K/9 in 43 innings.

  • Last start: Win, 6 IP, 3 ER, 5 H, 2 BB, 5 K in 10-3 home victory vs. Detroit Tigers Tuesday
  • 2024 road splits: 2-1, 2.82 ERA (22 1/3 IP, 7 ER), 0.94 WHIP, .193 opponents’ batting average (OBA), 3 HR, 5 BB, 21 K across 4 starts

Ryan (3-3, 3.15 ERA) makes his 11th start. He has a 0.98 WHIP, 1.4 BB/9 and 9.6 K/9 in 60 innings.

  • Last start: Win, 7 IP, 0 ER, 3 H, 2 BB, 6 K in 10-0 win at Washington Nationals Tuesday
  • 2024 home splits: 1-3, 5.02 ERA (28 2/3 IP, 16 ER), 1.05 WHIP, .234 OBA, 4 BB, 31 K in 5 starts

Royals at Twins picks and predictions

Prediction

Royals 4, Twins 3

Moneyline

The ROYALS (+145) are a solid play on the road behind Marsh, who has posted some outstanding numbers away from Kauffman Stadium.

The Twins (-175) have been playing well lately, taking 2 of 3 games from the defending champ Rangers, as well as the final 2 games in Washington. However, Minnesota is 0-6 in the past 6 games against winning teams.

Run line/Against the spread

If you’re a little more on the conservative side and can’t play the moneyline, consider ROYALS +1.5 (-140) on the run line as underdogs if you require a little bit of insurance.

The Twins won 2 of 3 in the 1st series of the season against the Royals, but a lot has changed since then. Minnesota can’t beat teams with a winning record, while the Kansas City offense has been on fire.

Over/Under

UNDER 8 (105) is worth playing lightly in this day game, but go with a half-unit play at best.

Ryan has struggled at home, but he has managed a solid 3.77 ERA in 28 2/3 innings across 5 daytime starts.

Marsh has allowed just 7 ER in 22 1/3 innings on the road this season, limiting the opposition to a .193 average in their own parks. This one has the chance to be an underrated pitcher’s duel.
