Purdue at Minnesota odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Thursday’s Purdue Boilermakers at Minnesota Golden Gophers odds and lines, with college basketball betting picks, tips and predictions.

The Minnesota Golden Gophers (12-7, 5-7 Big Ten) host the No. 25 Purdue Boilermakers (13-7, 8-5) at Williams Arena for a 5 p.m. ET tip-off. Below, we analyze the Purdue-Minnesota college basketball odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

Rankings courtesy of Ferris Mowers Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports.

Purdue at Minnesota: Odds, spread and lines

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated at 10:45 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Purdue +145 (bet $100 to win $145) | Minnesota -175 (bet $175 to win $100)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Purdue +3.5 (-110) | Minnesota -3.5 (-110)
  • Over/Under: 138.5 (O: -110 | U: -110)

Purdue at Minnesota: Three things to know

  1. Purdue is 3-2 straight up and ATS in its last five games, alternating wins and losses with its last game being a 75-70 victory as an 8-point home favorite over Northwestern Saturday.
  2. All of Minnesota’s losses this season have come in conference play and six of them were road games. The Golden Gophers snapped a three-game losing skid Monday by waxing Nebraska 79-61 at home. Prior to the losing streak, Minnesota lit up Michigan 75-57 at home Jan. 16.
  3. The Golden Gophers led at halftime of their first meeting with the Boilermakers this season before getting drubbed 51-27 in the second half of an 81-62 Purdue home win. The Boilermakers have won two in a row over the Golden Gophers but they’re just 1-4 ATS in their last five meetings.

Purdue at Minnesota: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Purdue 76, Minnesota 68

Money line (ML)

TAKE PURDUE (+145) to “upset” Minnesota on the road. Granted, the Golden Gophers play much better at home than on the road but I like how the Boilermakers match up with them. First, Purdue has the 33rd best rebounding percentage in the nation and Minnesota is 274th.

Second, the Golden Gophers don’t attack in the way needed to exploit the Boilermakers’ weakness of rim protection. Minnesota attempts the 325th-highest rate of shots at the rim while Purdue is 321st in opponent’s field-goal percentage at the rim, according to Hoop-Math.com.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

PURDUE +3.5 (-110) is the stronger play and should be either bet heavier than or instead of the money line.

Some might excuse Minnesota’s first loss to Purdue as a game that got away from the Golden Gophers in the second half, but the Boilermakers didn’t have their second-leading scorer and best 3-point shooter in SG Sasha Stefanovic in that game.

Over/Under (O/U)

PASS with a lean on Over 138.5 (-110) because Minnesota shoots better at home and Purdue is going to allow the Gophers to shoot threes. Purdue’s opponents shoot the eighth-highest rate of 3-pointers and while Minnesota is 307th in effective field-goal shooting, it’ll be more comfortable on its home floor.

I’d rather use my Purdue-Minnesota budget in the above markets.

Nebraska at Minnesota odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Monday’s Nebraska Cornhuskers at Minnesota Golden Gophers odds and lines, with college basketball betting picks, tips and predictions.

The Nebraska Cornhuskers (4-9 overall, 0-6  Big Ten) visit the Minnesota Golden Gophers (11-7, 4-7) in a Monday night (8 p.m. ET) Big Ten battle at Williams Arena in Minneapolis. Below, we analyze the Nebraska-Minnesota college basketball odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

Nebraska at Minnesota: Odds, spread and lines

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated at 7:30 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Nebraska +550 (bet $100 to win $550) | Minnesota -800 (bet $800 to win $100)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Nebraska +11.5 (-105) | Minnesota -11.5 (-115)
  • Over/Under: 147.5 (O: -110 | U: -110)

Nebraska at Minnesota: Three things to know

  1. The Cornhuskers are coming off a 66-56 loss at Michigan State Saturday. Due to a COVID-decimated schedule, the ‘Huskers hadn’t played since Jan. 10. With losses and postponements piling up, Nebraska hasn’t won since Dec. 17. UN has a 24-game Big Ten losing streak dating back to Jan. 7, 2020.
  2. One of Minnesota’s strengths is its ability to get to the charity stripe. The Gophers have averaged 24.1 foul shots per game (first Big Ten) this season. UM has converted on 75.5% (third Big Ten) of those attempts.
  3. The ‘Huskers have played just four road games this season. Albeit against a tough slate, Nebraska’s road shooting has been abysmal. UN’s 41.3% effective field goal mark ranks 334th (of 346 qualifiers) in the nation.

Nebraska at Minnesota: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Minnesota 77, Nebraska 69

Money line (ML)

Peg this perhaps as a half-unit play due to the lack of recent results to leverage. But Nebraska is the lean. It’d be no easy task taking to the road for a second straight game after a long layoff. But the ‘Huskers were respectable in forcing turnovers at Michigan State, and that’s a key to their having a chance in games. The +550 price here is generous.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

The Golden Gophers are 6-1 ATS in their last seven home games. A 9-to-10-point spread would be justifiable. But NEBRASKA +11.5 (-105) is the suggested play. Again, with limited data comes great caution: consider a half-unit play or less.

Over/Under (O/U)

The Under is 7-2 in Minnesota’s last nine games. Both teams play at a rabbit pace. But approaching 150 doesn’t appear to be in the cards at a high enough frequency: BACK THE UNDER 147.5 (-110).

Minnesota at Rutgers odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Thursday’s Minnesota Golden Gophers at Rutgers Scarlet Knights odds and lines, with college basketball betting picks, tips and predictions.

The Minnesota Golden Gophers (11-6 overall, 4-6 Big Ten) visit the Rutgers Scarlet Knights (10-6, 6-6) for a Thursday evening Big Ten battle tipping off at 9 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze the Minnesota-Rutgers college basketball odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

Minnesota at Rutgers: Odds, spread and lines

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated at 6:20 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Minnesota +185 (bet $100 to win $185) | Rutgers -225 (bet $225 to win $100)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Minnesota +5.5 (-115) | Rutgers -5.5 (-105)
  • Over/Under: 139.5 (O: -110 | U: -110)

Minnesota at Rutgers: Three things to know

  1. The Golden Gophers fell out of the Ferris Mowers Coaches Poll (power by USA TODAY Sports) after an 81-62 road loss to Purdue Saturday. That loss followed a Jan. 23 setback against Maryland and is part of an even larger trend. Since defeating Ohio State Jan. 3, Minnesota has dropped four out of five games. Over that stretch, the Gophers have shot just 36.8% from the floor and 27.5% from 3-point range.
  2. The Scarlet Knights head into this tilt on a three-game win streak, Rutgers has forced 48 turnovers in that stretch. RU has won the turnover exchange in 10 of its last 12 games. The Knights lead the Big Ten in steals at 8.4 per game.
  3. Rutgers G Jacob Young is shooting 54.1% from the floor — including a 42.9% mark from 3-point-land — over his last six games. On the season, Young is Rutgers’ second-leading scorer, at 14.6 points per game. He’s RU’s leading man in steals, with 1.8 thefts per contest.

Minnesota at Rutgers: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Rutgers 71, Minnesota 70

Money line (ML)

The start-and-stop nature of the COVID-19-pocked schedules has affected teams in different ways. The Gophers are playing a midweek game for the first time since Jan. 6. A little game-to-game rhythm could perhaps bolster the visitors here. A Minnesota win isn’t likely, but the price on a road upset is attractive enough to warrant a play on the visiting five.

TAKE MINNESOTA (+185).

Against the spread (ATS)

The Gophers are a higher-tempo team than most: Rutgers is 2-4 straight up and 2-4 ATS over its last six games against foes that fit that profile. Look for enough hidden Minnesota advantage at the foul line and in the turnover exchange that the Gophers can stay within one possession at the end.

TAKE MINNESOTA +5.5 (-115).

Over/Under (O/U)

STEER CLEAR of what looks like a solid total.

Michigan at Minnesota odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Saturday’s Michigan Wolverines at Minnesota Golden Gophers sports betting odds and lines, with college basketball betting picks, tips and predictions.

The Michigan Wolverines (11-0 overall, 6-0 Big Ten) tee it up with the Minnesota Golden Gophers (10-4, 3-4) in a Saturday matinee (2 p.m. ET) at Williams Arena in Minneapolis. Below, we analyze the Michigan-Minnesota college basketball betting odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

Michigan is No. 5 in the Ferris Mowers Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports. Minnesota is ranked 19th.

Michigan at Minnesota: Betting odds, spread and lines

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated at 9:05 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Michigan -275 (bet $275 to win $100) | Minnesota +220 (bet $100 to win $220)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Michigan -5.5 (-120) | Minnesota +5.5 (+100)
  • Over/Under: 147.5 (O: -110 | U: -110)

Michigan at Minnesota: Three things to know

  1. Michigan (82.0 points per game) and Minnesota (79.1) ranks third and fourth, respectively in Big Ten scoring. The Wolverines spread their scoring around, with seven players averaging between 5.7 PPG and 17.5 PPG. The Golden Gophers are more top-heavy: junior G Marcus Carr is averaging 20.9 PPG. Carr is averaging 23.9 PPG at home.
  2. The Gophers lost to Michigan, 82-57, in Ann Arbor 10 days ago. Minnesota shooting woes (37.5% effective field goal) led to the Wolverines opening a two-score lead by the six-minute mark of the first half and never looking back. Michigan is 17-3 (12-8 against the spread) over its last 20 games against the Gophers.
  3. The Wolverines have allowed just 111 points over their last two games. Michigan allowed 69.4 PPG in non-conference play, but in a half-dozen league games has held foes to just 62.8 PPG.

Michigan at Minnesota: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Michigan 75, Minnesota 70

Money line (ML)

Minnesota takes on some solid value in the +220 range. Keep an eye on the price as the game approaches.

Against the spread (ATS)

The Wolverines are a worthy favorite in the one-to-two-possession range, but they haven’t played on the road since Dec. 31 and have only played away from Ann Arbor twice in 11 games. PASS, but put a line-watch on this contest and see if you can get the Gophers at +6 or +6.5.

Over/Under (O/U)

This contest features a fast-tempo home five against a more deliberate Michigan squad. Peg the visitors as struggling to put this one into the barn, with a total climbing into the mid-140s. TAKE THE OVER 140.5 (-110).

Rankings courtesy of the Ferris Mowers Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports.

Minnesota at Iowa: Betting odds, spread and lines

  • Money line: Minnesota +375 (bet $100 to win $375) | Iowa -500 (bet $500 to win $100)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Minnesota +9.5 (-110) | Iowa -9.5 (-110)
  • Over/Under: 162.5. (O: -110 | U: -110)

Minnesota at Iowa: Three things to know

  1. Minnesota beat then-No. 5 Iowa 102-95 in overtime as a 6.5-point home underdog Christmas Day. Senior F Brandon Johnson hit four 3-pointers in OT and finished with 26 points and 9 rebounds for the Golden Gophers. Junior G Marcus Carr added a team-high 30 points with a game-high 8 assists. The Hawkeyes received 32 points and 17 rebounds, both game-highs, from senior C Luka Garza.
  2. Minnesota lost at No. 9 Michigan (10-0) as a 7.5-point underdog Wednesday, three days after cruising past then-No. 20 Ohio State 77-60 at home. Carr was the only Gophers player to score in double-figures (14 points) vs. the Wolverines as Minnesota shot just 32.4% from the field (22-for-68) and was outrebounded 40-31. Carr leads the Gophers in points (21.5 per game) and assists (5.6 APG), while junior C Liam Robbins is the top rebounder (7.3 RPG) and blocker (2.7 BPG).
  3. The Hawkeyes have run off three consecutive wins since the loss in Minneapolis. They’re coming off back-to-back road wins: 77-75 at then-No. 13 Rutgers as 3.5-point favorites Jan. 2, and 89-67 at Maryland as 5.5-point favorites Thursday. Garza, whose 27.2 PPG lead the country (among qualified players), scored game-highs in both victories – 25 vs. the Scarlet Knights and 24 vs. the Terrapins.

Minnesota at Iowa: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Iowa 85, Minnesota 71

Money line (ML)

AVOID. It’s not wise to risk 5 times your potential return with Iowa (-500), and I don’t see Minnesota (+375) winning.

Against the spread (ATS)

IOWA -9.5 (-110) is the STRONGEST PLAY – 1½ times your usual wager. The Hawkeyes are one of the best home teams in the country. They’re 8-0 straight-up and 7-1 ATS at Carver-Hawkeye Arena, winning by 27.8 PPG and covering the spread by 8.6 PPG.

The Gophers are 0-3 SU and 0-3 ATS on the road, losing by an average of 21.3 PPG and failing to cover by 13.0 PPG.

Plus, the Hawkeyes haven’t forgotten the overtime loss on Christmas Day. Revenge will be sweet Sunday afternoon.

ATS: Minnesota 6-6-1 | Iowa 8-4

Over/Under (O/U)

UNDER 162.5 (-110) is the way to go. While the Hawkeyes rank third in scoring at 92.4 PPG – behind top-ranked Gonzaga (96.1) and The Citadel (92.9) – they averaged 78.5 PPG in their two Big Ten home games. They beat Northwestern 87-72 Dec. 29 and knocked off Purdue 70-55 Dec. 22.

The Gophers average 79.7 PPG but only 60.3 PPG in their three conference road games.

O/U records: Minnesota 7-6 | Iowa 9-3

The Ohio State Buckeyes (8-2 overall, 2-2 Big Ten) visit the Minnesota Golden Gophers (9-2, 2-2) in a Sunday evening (5:30 p.m. ET) contest at Williams Arena in Minneapolis. Below, we analyze the Ohio State-Minnesota college basketball betting odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

Ohio State is ranked No. 20 in the USA TODAY Sports Men’s Basketball Coaches Poll. Minnesota is ranked T-24th.

Ohio State at Minnesota: Betting odds, spread and lines

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated at 10:55 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Ohio State -115 (bet $115 to win $100) | Minnesota -105 (bet $105 to win $100)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Ohio State +1.5 (-105) | Minnesota -1.5 (-115)
  • Over/Under: 146.5 (O: -115 | U: -105)

Ohio State at Minnesota: Three things to know

  1. The Buckeyes allowed just 54 points in their last game, a Wednesday home win over Nebraska (90-54). OSU held the Cornhuskers to a 28.3% mark from the floor. For the season, the Bucks have held foes to a 40.1% accuracy mark en route to allowing just 65.1 points per game (second, Big Ten).
  2. Minnesota is coming off a road loss (71-59 to Wisconsin on Thursday) but is returning to the friendly confines of Williams Arena, where the Gophers haven’t lost since Feb. 26 (a stretch of 10 straight). UM’s offense has been in high gear over recent home games: the Gophers have averaged 89.6 PPG over their last five on home hardwood.
  3. The Gophers won both meetings last season. At home, Minnesota prevailed by a score of 84-71. But since 2015, Ohio State is 6-3 straight-up and 6-3 ATS against Minnesota. In those nine meetings, the Over went 6-2-1.

Ohio State at Minnesota: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Minnesota 76, Ohio State 74

Money line (ML)

PASS: not enough of a lean either way on the ML and ATS sides.

Against the spread (ATS)

PASS: the column-A and column-B check-mark lists stack up dead even.

Over/Under (O/U)

The Over is: 5-2 in Minnesota’s last seven games … 2-1 in OSU’s three road games … 9-1 in the Buckeyes’ last 10 games against a foe playing .600 basketball … 5-0 in the Gophers’ last six games following a loss.

Both teams get to the free-throw line with great frequency. Both have growth potential in the 3-point game. The expected back-and-forth, one-possession game flow figures as fuel for a figure in the 150-plus range.

BACK THE OVER 146.5 (-115).

Minnesota at Wisconsin odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Thursday’s Minnesota Golden Gophers at Wisconsin Badgers sports betting odds and lines, with college basketball betting picks, tips and predictions.

The Minnesota Golden Gophers (9-1 overall, 2-1 Big Ten) visit the Wisconsin Badgers (8-2, 2-1) in a 4:30 p.m. ET contest at Kohl Center in Madison on Thursday. Below, we analyze the Minnesota-Wisconsin college basketball betting odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

Wisconsin is ranked No. 7 in the Men’s Basketball Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports. Minnesota is ranked T-24th.

Minnesota at Wisconsin: Betting odds, spread and lines

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Thursday at 11:15 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Minnesota +300 (bet $100 to win $300) | Wisconsin -400 (bet $400 to win $100)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Minnesota +8.5 (-120) | Wisconsin -8.5 (+100)
  • Over/Under: 139.5 (O: -110 | U: -110)

Minnesota at Wisconsin: Three things to know

  1. Wisconsin is coming off a home loss to Maryland (70-64) on Monday. Prior to that setback in Madison, the Badgers had won five straight games overall and 15 consecutive games at home (dating back to last season). That home streak includes a 71-69 win over Minnesota on March 1. The Badgers won that game despite shooting just 39.7% from the floor.
  2. The Golden Gophers are playing in just their second road game of the season, and the first effort did not go at all well. On Dec. 15, Minnesota dropped a 92-65 decision at Illinois. The Gophers shot just 27.5% from the floor in the loss.
  3. This New Year’s Eve tilt represents a contrast in styles: Minnesota heads into the game ranked third in the Big Ten in scoring (84.3 points per game). Wisconsin leads the circuit in scoring defense (60.6 PPG allowed). And in any pace or tempo measurement, Minnesota is at one end and Wisconsin at the other.

Minnesota at Wisconsin: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Wisconsin 76, Minnesota 66

Money line (ML)

Minnesota can get to the line a lot and wants to play up-tempo. Wisconsin has seen some fast foes already this season and should be able to weather any Gopher runs.

UM struggled away from home last year. The Gophers being on the road for just a second time and having struggled so much at Illinois is a factor here. THERE IS DECENT VALUE IN WISCONSIN (-400).

Against the spread (ATS)

One can leverage the last-game opinions on both sides here. On the UW side, the Badgers have been touched up by hot shooting in back-to-back games (effective field goal percentages over 54% in games against Michigan State, Maryland). HC Greg Gard’s recent Wisconsin teams have had strong bounce-backs in such situations. Look for the Badgers to clamp down and win Thursday’s game by double digits.

BACK THE BADGERS -8.5 (+100).

Over/Under (O/U)

Respect a well-made total here: PASS.

Michigan State at Minnesota: Three things to know

  1. The Gophers have won back-to-back games in high-scoring fashion after getting waxed by 27 points (92-65) at Illinois on Dec. 15. Minnesota scored 90 in a win over St. Louis on Dec. 20 and then 102 in an overtime win over Iowa on Dec. 25. Both of those contests were at home where the Gophers are 8-0 this year.
  2. Michigan State also played on Christmas Day: the Spartans dropped an 85-76 affair against Wisconsin. The setback marked MSU’s second in a row. The Spartans have had some defensive woes in dropping five straight ATS. MSU has forced just 10.4 turnovers per game over that stretch; the Spartans’ last three foes have combined to shoot a robust 51.5% from the floor.
  3. Michigan State held Minnesota to a combined 110 points in sweeping last year’s season series, two games to none. The Spartans have defeated the Gophers in five straight games (5-0 ATS) and in seven of the last eight meetings (7-1 ATS).

Michigan State at Minnesota: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Michigan State 79, Minnesota 77

Money line (ML)

PASS ON THE MONEY LINE. MSU is the likable side but not in the neighborhood of a -150 price.

Against the spread (ATS)

A deep Tom Izzo team figures to be in an all-out mode to guard against going 0-3 in Big Ten play. The Spartans figure to have their best defensive games ahead of them and playing a Minnesota team, perhaps due to some shooting regression, looks like a good starting point.

But a Monday morning line move toward MSU takes the starch out of hopes for any real value. Peg this one as a “recreational lean” on MICHIGAN STATE -2.5 (-110), not much more.

Over/Under (O/U)

This series has gone the Under in seven straight games. And that’s with totals much lower than the 158-and-change we see for Monday night.

The Gophers have drained 27 triples over their last two games. Look for some gravity in those numbers and in the mirror figures for the MSU defense, which has yielded a 48.6% 3-point accuracy rate (on 12.0 threes per game) over its last three games.

Both teams play at an aggressive tempo, but peg this one as a tighter all-hands-on-deck game: BACK THE UNDER 158.5 (-110).

Iowa at Minnesota: Three things to know

  1. Iowa bounced back from a 99-88 loss to No. 1 Gonzaga (Dec. 19) with an impressive 70-55 home victory vs. Purdue in its Big Ten opener Tuesday. Senior C Luka Garza had a game-high 22 points and 9 rebounds vs. the Boilermakers as the Hawkeyes covered as 7-point favorites. Garza leads the country with 28.4 points per game and leads Iowa with 9.1 rebounds per game Junior G Joe Wieskamp, who scored 17 points vs. Purdue, averages 16.0 PPG and 6.6 RPG.
  2. Minnesota is coming off a 90-82 non-conference win vs. Saint Louis Sunday. G Marcus Carr scored 14 of his game-high 32 points from the free-throw line in the second half as the Golden Gophers pulled off the upset as 2-point underdogs. The junior leads the Gophers with 23.9 PPG – he has scored 28 or more points in three games. Minnesota opened the season 6-0 before dropping its Big Ten opener at then-No. 13 Illinois 92-65.
  3. Iowa has won the last two meetings vs. Minnesota, sweeping last season’s series. The Hawkeyes won in Minneapolis 58-55 as 4.5-point underdogs Feb. 16, and prevailed at home 72-52 as 5-point favorites Dec. 9, 2019. The Gophers took three of the previous four meetings before that.

Iowa at Minnesota: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Iowa 90, Minnesota 81

Money line (ML)

PASS. Backing Iowa (-350) would require risking 3½ your potential return. That’s just not a wise gambling strategy.

Against the spread (ATS)

IOWA -7.5 (-110) is worth a THREE-QUARTER UNIT WAGER. If the number climbs to 9 or higher, drop it to a half-unit bet. Minnesota’s defense has struggled early on, allowing 73.5 PPG to rank 247th in the nation. Iowa scores 95.1 PPG to rank second. The Gophers will have a tough time stopping Garza and the rest of the Hawkeyes’ offense.

ATS records: Iowa 6-2 | Minnesota 3-4-1

Over/Under (O/U)

The OVER 163.5 (-110) is the STRONGEST PLAY – 1½ times your usual wager. The Hawkeyes’ high-scoring offense was already mentioned. Well, their defense is nothing to write home about. They give up 70.6 PPG.

This should be a fast-pace game with Garza and Carr putting on a show.

O/U records: Iowa 7-1 | Minnesota 6-2

Minnesota at Wisconsin: Three things to know

  1. The Golden Gophers racked up a 24-17 road win last time out in Nebraska, winning outright as nine-point underdogs to keep their hopes alive for one of the Big Ten’s bowl bids. In fact, this game’s winner might grab a spot, and the loser could be out of a postseason appearance and the money which comes with it.
  2. Minnesota RB Mohamed Ibrahim is not just one of the most explosive backs in the Big Ten, but he is one of the best in the nation, making Gophers fans and alumni think of Marion Barber III, Laurence Maroney, etc. Ibrahim has 925 rushing yards and 15 touchdowns across just six games, averaging 5.3 yards per tote.
  3. Wisconsin enters on a three-game slide, including an embarrassing 28-7 setback at Iowa last Saturday. The Badgers have had a power outage on offense, averaging just 6.7 PPG during the three-game skid, and they didn’t score more than seven points in any of the outings against Northwestern, Indiana or Iowa.

Minnesota at Wisconsin: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Wisconsin 20, Minnesota 17

Money line (ML)

Wisconsin (-590) will cost you nearly six times your potential return, and that’s backing a team that is 0-3 straight up and ATS in its past three games with a total of 20 points on offense. Not to be all Hammer on y’all, but you can’t touch that.

AVOID.

Against the spread (ATS)

MINNESOTA +13.5 (-110) is the play here. The Gophers have a star running back who will keep them in the game, as he has the goods to take it to the house every time he touches the ball. On the flip side, QB Graham Mertz has been mistake-prone lately, and Wisconsin is favored by twice as many points as it has averaged on offense over the past three outings, 6.7 PPG.

Over/Under (O/U)

UNDER 47.5 (-115) seems like the slam-dunk play, as someone turned the offensive spigot off for Wisconsin three games ago, and the Badgers have totaled just 20 points behind the mistake-prone offense.

Minnesota’s best bet on offense is running the ball and running the ball runs the clock. All signs point to the Under here.
