Brewers at Rockies projected starters

LHP Wade Miley vs. RHP Connor Seabold

Miley (3-1, 1.86 ERA) makes his 6th start. He has a 1.00 WHIP, 1.2 BB/9 and 5.9 K/9 in 29 IP.

  • Has pitched at least 5 IP and allowed 4 H in each of his 5 starts
  • Boasts a 9-3 record with a 4.25 ERA, 1.38 WHIP, and 6.7 K/9 in 16 career starts (17 appearances) against the Rockies.

Seabold (0-0, 5.27 ERA) makes his 1st start. He has a 1.54 WHIP, 2.0 BB/9 and 8.6 K/9 in 13 2/3 IP.

  • Has made all 7 of his appearances out of the bullpen this season and the Rockies have lost each game he’s pitched in
  • Made 5 starts for the Boston Red Sox in 2022 and allowed 4-plus ER in 4 of those starts

Brewers at Rockies picks and predictions

Prediction

Brewers 6, Rockies 4

Moneyline

Even though Miley doesn’t record many strikeouts, I’ll side with the BREWERS (-145) on the road for Thursday’s matchup as they look to avoid the series sweep.

Run line/Against the spread

BREWERS -1.5 (+100) has nice value as Milwaukee has the pitching advantage on Thursday. Seabold has struggled out of the bullpen this season for the Rockies and he was dismal in a starting role for the Red Sox in 2022.

Play our free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Over/Under

UNDER 12 (-110) is how I’d play the run total despite the game taking place at Coors Field. Miley has given up a total of 6 ER in his 5 starts and Milwaukee’s bullpen has the 7th-best ERA (3.17) this season.

The Under is 3-1-1 in the last 5 meetings in Colorado and 4-1-1 in the last 6 meetings overall.

Milwaukee Brewers at Colorado Rockies odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Wednesday’s Milwaukee Brewers at Colorado Rockies odds and lines, with MLB expert picks and predictions.

The Milwaukee Brewers (71-64) and Colorado Rockies (58-79) have split the first 2 games of the series and will battle it out in the rubber match on Wednesday. First pitch is set for 3:10 p.m. ET at Coors Field. Let’s analyze Tipico Sportsbook‘s lines around the Brewers vs. Rockies odds with MLB picks and predictions.

Season series: Brewers lead 4-2

Milwaukee has lost 6 of its last 8 games on the road, dropping their record away from home to 36-38 for the season.

The Rockies recently finished a 3-7 road trip and own the worst road record in the league. They have been pretty good at home, though, with a 37-33 record.

Brewers at Rockies projected starters

LHP Eric Lauer vs. LHP Kyle Freeland

Lauer (10-6, 3.54 ERA) makes his 26th start. He has a 1.22 WHIP, 3.2 BB/9 and 8.5K/9 in 142 1/3 IP.

  • In 5 career starts at Coors Field, he has surrendered 26 ER in 16 IP with a 13/11 K/BB and 5 HR allowed
  • Didn’t walk any batters in his last start, but in his previous 8 starts he had walked 23 in 46 1/3 IP (4.5 BB/9).

Freeland (7-9, 4.75 ERA) makes his 27th start. He has a 1.41 WHIP, 2.7 BB/9 and 6.3 K/9 in 147 2/3 IP.

  • Sporting an ugly 6.10 ERA and 5.6 K/9 in 13 home starts this season, but has a more respectable 4.74 career ERA in 398 2/3 IP at Coors Field
  • Beat Brewers 2-0 in Milwaukee July 25 with 7 scoreless IP, 4 H, 1 BB and 7 K

Brewers at Rockies picks and predictions

Prediction

Rockies 6, Brewers 5

Money line

Lauer hasn’t been nearly as good since the All-Star break, as his K-BB% has dropped from 17.3% to 7.3% and his xFIP has jumped by nearly a full run from 3.89 to 4.79. He has also struggled mightily, albeit in a pretty small sample, in 5 previous starts in Colorado.

The Rockies are a different team at home than they are on the road. Freeland has struggled at Coors this year, but has been better throughout his career, and Milwaukee is 25th in wRC+ vs lefties. Back the home dog ROCKIES +115.

Run line/Against the spread

Lauer’s skills have fallen off in the 2nd half and he’ll have his hands full at Coors Field. Even if the Rockies lose, they should keep it close, so taking the ROCKIES +1.5 (-125) is the way to go.

Over/Under

The under is 6-1 in Milwaukee’s last 7 games and 7-2 in Colorado’s last 9, though most of those were on the road. Both teams should put up some runs, but this could go either way and the smart move is to simply PASS on the total.

Milwaukee Brewers at Colorado Rockies odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Tuesday’s Milwaukee Brewers at Colorado Rockies odds and lines, with MLB expert picks and predictions.

The Milwaukee Brewers (71-63) take on the Colorado Rockies (57-79) in the second game of a 3-game series Tuesday at Coors Field. First pitch is at 8:40 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze Tipico Sportsbook‘s lines around the Brewers vs. Rockies odds with MLB picks and predictions.

Season series: Brewers lead 4-1

The Brewers defeated the Rockies 6-4 Monday to give them their 6th win in their last 10 games. Milwaukee is now 7 1/2 games behind the St. Louis Cardinals for the NL Central lead, and they are 2 games back of the San Diego Padres for the final wild-card spot.

It’s been a dismal season for the team that plays at Coors Field. Colorado has lost 9 of its last 12 games and is firmly in last place in the NL West, trailing the 4th placed Arizona Diamondbacks by 9 games.

Brewers at Rockies projected starters

RHP Brandon Woodruff vs. RHP Chad Kuhl

Woodruff (9-4, 3.54 ERA) makes his 22nd start. He has a 1.16 WHIP, 2.7 BB/9 and 10.7 K/9 through 114 1/3 IP.

  • Last start at Diamondbacks Thursday: 5 2/3 IP, 8 H, 5 ER, 2 BB, 4 K
  • July 23 vs. Rockies: 6 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 8 K

Kuhl (6-8, 5.19 ERA) makes his 23rd start. He has a 1.50 WHIP, 3.8 BB/9 and 6.9 K/9 through 112 2/3 IP.

  • Has given up 3 or more ER in 8 consecutive starts
  • July 24 at Brewers: 2 1/3 IP, 5 H, 5 R (3 ER), 2 BB, 4 K

Brewers at Rockies picks and predictions

Prediction

Brewers 8, Rockies 4

Money line

Milwaukee should be able to take care of business on the road against a hapless Colorado team. That being said, I’ll PASS on taking the money line for the Brewers due to the odds being -200.

Run line/Against the spread

BREWERS -1.5 (-130) is an enticing wager. If you aren’t comfortable taking Milwaukee to win by at least 2 runs, BREWERS -0.5 FIRST 5 INNINGS (-145) is also worth consideration.

Over/Under

OVER 10.5 RUNS (-135) seems like the logical choice in Tuesday’s matchup. Even though Woodruff should have success limiting the lineup of the Rockies, the bullpen of the Brewers could surrender a few runs later in the game.

Three of the 5 meetings between these teams this season have had 11 or more runs scored. With the game taking place at Coors Field, and Kuhl taking the mound for Colorado, Milwaukee could come close to hitting the Over itself.

Milwaukee Brewers at Colorado Rockies odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Monday’s Milwaukee Brewers at Colorado Rockies odds and lines, with MLB expert picks and predictions.

The Milwaukee Brewers (70-63) travel to the Mile High City to face the Colorado Rockies (57-78) Monday in the 1st game of a 3-game set at Coors Field. First pitch is set for 4:10 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze Tipico Sportsbook‘s lines around the Brewers vs. Rockies odds with MLB picks and predictions.

Season series: Brewers lead 3-1

Milwaukee just can’t find a rhythm. The Brewers are 5-5 in their last 10 games against the Arizona Diamondbacks, Pittsburgh Pirates and Chicago Cubs — all sub-.500 teams. They are just 13-17 over the last 30 games. OF Christian Yelich left Thursday’s game with a neck issue and didn’t play the rest of the weekend. The fact that he didn’t even pinch hit is an ominous sign for this one.

The Rockies return home after a long road trip, going 3-7 along the way. The last game of which saw them get spanked 10-0 in the nightcap of a doubleheader at the Cincinnati Reds Sunday. Everything changes when they return home, though. The Rockies are 36-32 at Coors Field.

Brewers at Rockies projected starters

RHP Adrian Houser vs. RHP Ryan Feltner

Houser (4-9, 5.02 ERA) makes his 17th start and 18th appearance. He has a 1.53 WHIP, 3.9 BB/9 and 7.0 K/9 in 80 2/3 IP.

  • Has pitched 4 1/3 IP since June 30 due to an elbow injury
  • 2 starts vs. Colorado in 2021: 11 IP, 14 H, 9 ER, 6 BB, 6 K

Feltner (2-6, 5.78 ERA) makes his 14th start and 15th appearance. He has a 1.42 WHIP, 3.1 BB/9 and 7.8 K/9 in 67 IP.

  • Has allowed at least 3 ER in 7 of his last 8 starts
  • Pitches a little better at home: 5.52 ERA, 1.30 WHIP vs. 5.97 ERA, 1.51 WHIP on road

Brewers at Rockies picks and predictions

Prediction

Brewers 6, Rockies 5

Money line

There’s no telling what Milwaukee will get out of Houser today, and his history at Coors hasn’t been good. I still feel like Milwaukee finds a way to string together enough good at-bats to take out Colorado.

I’m not sold enough to go at the ML, but Milwaukee scored 18 runs in its final 3 games at Coors last year. Let’s go with BREWERS OVER 5.5 TOTAL RUNS (-130).

Run line/Against the spread

The Rockies covered in 3 of the 4 games against the Brewers in July. Colorado went 2-2 against Milwaukee at Coors last season, and both losses were by just 1 run. Take the ROCKIES +1.5 (-135).

Over/Under

Based on the pitching matchup, 12 runs is entirely possible. It’s just not something I’m dying to throw money at. There’s also a 9-mph breeze coming in from right-center, which should help keep the Under intact.

Last season’s totals between these teams at Coors Field were 13, 11,11 and 10. The Under is 4-0 in Feltner’s last 4 starts. The Under is 13-5 in the last 18 meetings between these teams in Colorado.

Take the UNDER 11.5 (-120).

Milwaukee Brewers at Colorado Rockies odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Saturday’s Milwaukee Brewers at Colorado Rockies and lines, with MLB picks and predictions.

The Milwaukee Brewers (38-32) meet the Colorado Rockies (30-41) in the third game of their four-game series at Coors Field Saturday. First pitch is scheduled for 9:10 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook‘s lines around the Brewers vs. Rockies odds with MLB picks and predictions.

Colorado beat Milwaukee in extra innings Friday, 6-5, extending its win streak to five games and pushing the Brewers’ losing skid to five games.

Season series: Rockies lead 2-0.

RHP Adrian Houser is the projected starter for the Brewers. Houser is 4-5 with a 3.62 ERA (64 2/3 IP, 26 ER), 1.31 WHIP, 3.6 BB/9 and 7.5 K/9 over 12 starts and 1 relief appearance.

  • Last outing: No-decision with 5 2/3 IP, 2 ER, 7 H, 0 BB and 2 K in Milwaukee’s 5-2 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates Sunday.
  • vs. Rockies on the current roster: 18 at-bats with a .111/.158/.111 slash line, 6/1 K/BB, 0 HR and 0 RBI.

LHP Austin Gomber makes his 15th start for the Rockies. Gomber is 6-5 with a 3.54 ERA (76 1/3 IP, 30 ER), 1.05 WHIP, 2.7 BB/9 and 8.8 K/9 this year.

  • Last outing: Win, 3-2, with 8 IP, 0 ER, 3 H, 0 BB and 4 K Monday vs. the San Diego Padres.
  • vs. Brewers on the current roster: 13 at-bats with a .231/.389/.231 slash line, 4/2 K/BB, 0 HR and 2 RBIs.

  • Money line: Brewers -110 (bet $110 to win $100) | Rockies -110 (bet $110 to win $100)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Brewers -1.5 (+145) | Rockies +1.5 (-175)
  • Over/Under: 10.5 (O: -110 | U: -110)

Prediction

Rockies 6, Brewers 2

Money line (ML)

BET the ROCKIES (-110) for 1 unit because they are much better in the Mile High City, and Houser’s pitching numbers are poor when you look under the hood.

For instance, the Rockies are 24-15 in Coors Field this season and have won five straight over the Brewers in Colorado.

Furthermore, Gomber is 3-1 at home with 0.95 ERA and 0.81 WHIP compared to a 5.06 ERA and 1.19 WHIP on the road this season.

Also, Houser’s basic pitching numbers are solid but his peripherals tell a different story.

Houser grades in the 40th percentile or worse in exit velocity, hard-hit rate, expected opponent’s wOBA, expected slugging percentage, K% and whiff rate.

Run line/Against the spread (ATS)

PASS. Three of Colorado’s past five home wins over Milwaukee have been by a single run so that rules out the Rockies on the alternate run line and the Rockies +1.5 (-175) is a little out of my price range.

Over/Under (O/U)

“LEAN” to the UNDER 10.5 (-110) for a half unit because a majority of the market is betting the Over so there’s a contrarian angle to bet on the total and both lineups have below-average production at the plate.

Also, the Under has cashed in 13 of the last 16 Rockies-Brewers meetings at Coors Field and the Rockies have a 4-10 O/U record in Gomber’s 14 starts this season.

Milwaukee Brewers at Colorado Rockies odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Thursday’s Milwaukee Brewers at Colorado Rockies odds and lines, with MLB picks and predictions.

The Milwaukee Brewers (38-30) open a four-game series against the Colorado Rockies (28-41) on the road Thursday night, with first pitch scheduled for 8:40 p.m. ET at Coors Field. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook‘s lines around the Brewers vs. Rockies odds with MLB picks and predictions.

RHP Brandon Woodruff is the projected starting pitcher for the Brewers. He is 5-2 with a 1.52 ERA, 0.72 WHIP, 10.5 K/9 and 1.8 BB/9 in 83 IP over 13 starts.

Woodruff has allowed 2 or fewer runs in all but his first start of the season, recording 11 quality starts.

RHP German Marquez is the projected starting pitcher for the Rockies. He is 4-6 with a 4.60 ERA, 1.44 WHIP, 9.4 K/9 and 4.2 BB/9 in 76 1/3 IP over 14 starts.

He allowed 9 R (8 earned) on 12 H in 5 IP at Cincinnati in his last start.

Brewers at Rockies odds, lines, picks and prediction

MLB odds courtesy of BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports for a full list. Odds last updated at 12:37 p.m. ET.

  • Money line: Brewers -165 (bet $165 to win $100) | Rockies +140 (bet $100 to win $140)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Brewers -1.5 (-110) | Rockies +1.5 (-110)
  • Over/Under: 10.5 (O: -105 | U: -115)

Prediction

Brewers 7, Rockies 2

Money line (ML)

The Brewers are coming off being swept at home by the Cincinnati Reds, but they had won 14 of their previous 16 games. They actually have been better on the road than at American Family Field, posting an 18-12 record, and are 4-2 away from home with Woodruff on the mound.

The Rockies are coming off a series sweep at home over the San Diego Padres, and have won Marquez’s last four home starts.

However, this pitching matchup is too much to overcome.

Take the BREWERS (-165).

FANTASY BASEBALL: Serious about winning your league? Sign up for BaseballHQ.com to dominate the competition. Subscribe now!

Run line/Against the spread (ATS)

The Rockies are 24-13 ATS at home, covering the spread in their last four at Coors Field.

The Brewers are 38-30 ATS this season and a whopping 20-10 ATS on the road. Woodruff has allowed a total of three earned runs across six road starts this season.

As noted in the money line, Woodruff will be overwhelming in this matchup.

Take the BREWERS -1.5 (-110).

Over/Under (O/U)

None of Woodruff’s six road starts have had reached a total of more than six runs this season, and only four of the Brewers’ last 10 games have gone Over the projected total.

None of Marquez’s last three home starts have exceeded totals of 8 runs.

Take UNDER 10.5 (-115).
