Ohio State football class of 2023 scouting report: Miles Walker

Ohio State football class of 2023 scouting report: Miles Walker #GoBucks

The Ohio State football recruiting class of 2023 is complete and despite some murmurs of negativity in the crowd, this class is fantastic from top to bottom. One of the studs of this class is the lone three-star recruit in this class, an offensive tackle from the state of Connecticut in Miles Walker from Brunswick School in Greenwich, Connecticut.

Walker is regarded as a top-500 recruit in the country and a top-40 offensive tackle. It is no secret that the consensus lowest-rated prospect in the class is seen as a developmental prospect who is not ready to see the field immediately, but Walker has big-time potential.

Name: Miles Walker

The Ohio State football team has 18 offensive linemen on scholarship and seven arrived in Columbus, Ohio, as offensive tackles. Now the Ohio State offensive line is in a state of flux, so some of these players may wind up on the interior, and some players that I list on the interior could be moved outside. Still, we are moving forward with how 247Sports had them listed as recruits.

The offensive tackle position will be exciting to watch this spring. The Buckeyes lost both Paris Johnson and Dawand Jones and will be hoping a youngster such as Tegra Tshabola steps up to the plate. Here is a ranking of the scholarship offensive tackles on the roster based on their 247Sports recruiting rankings.

BOOM! Ohio State gets commitment from Connecticut offensive lineman

Ohio State lands its fourth offensive lineman in the 2023 class. #GoBucks

The Ohio State football team landed its seventeenth commitment in the 2023 class when three-star Miles Walker gave his pledge to the Buckeyes on Friday. Walker is the fourth lineman to commit in the current class joining Luke Montgomery, Austin Siereveld, and Joshua Padilla.

The Greenwich, Connecticut product comes in as the No. 38 rated tackle in the nation, but don’t let that number fool you. Walker has been climbing the rankings recently and carried offers from Texas A&M, Iowa, and Penn State among others. Offensive line coach, Justin Frye, believes that Walker could be a diamond in the rough.

Ohio State hopes to secure at least one more on the offensive line and many believe it could be another Connecticut prospect, Olaus Alinen. Alinen is the No. 15 overall lineman in the 2023 class and then No. 1 prospect from the Constitution State.

The Buckeyes currently hold the No. 2 overall class in the country, but that could change with some big names getting ready to announce their college decision in the coming days.
