While the current recruiting focus for Ohio State football is finishing the 2025 cycle on a strong note, it is not the sole center of attention.
As always, the classes after are still on the Buckeyes coaches minds, and on Wednesday they made an offer to 2027 Mississippi running back [autotag]Mikel Stephen[/autotag]. The 5-foot, 11-inch and 185-pound ball carrier has just four offers to date, but two of them are very impressive.
Already in hand were offers from Florida State and Georgia, with the Buckeyes now entering the mix. What’s a bit odd is that on the 247Sports database, it shows that Stephen was offered by Ohio State in early June, although he just posted the offer on social media. He is currently unranked at the moment.
Honored and blessed to have received an offer from @OhioStateFB @ryandaytime @Locklyn33 @TonyJCoach @Bucknuts247 @MacCorleone74 @LawrenceHopkins @DemetricDWarren @MohrRecruiting @Rebels247 @ChadSimmons_ @MCJags_Football @CoachT_Rob @bsa28_ @JimStefani @adamgorney @ErikRichardsUSA… pic.twitter.com/ONPXkxNNaG

Regardless of when the offer was made, the Buckeyes were extremely early in identifying his talent. Hopefully this makes a difference in Stephen’s recruitment as there is still a long time until he can officially sign.
