Well, basketball season starts next week.

Michigan State was embarrassed by their in-state rival on Saturday, losing 49-0 against Michigan at Spartan Stadium. This was the largest margin of victory for either team in the rivalry since 1947.

Michigan State drops to 2-5 with the loss and has yet to win a game since Mel Tucker was suspended and then fired. Michigan State has lost five straight games and there really is not much to be excited about with the Spartans’ football program after yet another terrible Saturday of football.

Michigan State’s official social media account released a teaser clip on Tuesday night that suggests the team will wear their new “Shadows” black uniforms this week against Michigan. The tweet from the account can be seen below:

This offseason Michigan State unveiled new black alternate uniforms known as the “Shadows” uniform. These received a ton of excitement from the fanbase and it appears they’ll wear them for the first time ever against Michigan.

Kickoff between the Spartans and Wolverines is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday. The game will be televised nationally on NBC.

Michigan State football has opened as a three-score underdog in their annual rivalry matchup against Michigan.

The Wolverines are favored by 23 points over the Spartans in this upcoming Saturday night matchup from Spartan Stadium. Michigan State enters this game on a four-game losing streak and reeling from a blown 18-point fourth-quarter lead against Rutgers this past weekend. Michigan on the other hand is a perfect 7-0 and has yet to be tested this year, with an average margin of victory of 32.7 points per game.

Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday. The game will be nationally televised on NBC.

Game time, TV details reportedly released for MSU-UM matchup on Oct. 21

Michigan and Michigan State will once again be taking their in-state rivalry to the prime time slot

Michigan and Michigan State will once again be taking their in-state rivalry to the prime time slot.

For a second straight year, the Spartans and Wolverines will reportedly battle it out in a night game. Brett McMurphy of the Action Network is reporting that the Michigan-Michigan State game will kickoff at 7:30 p.m. ET and be televised nationally on NBC.

This year’s battle between Michigan and Michigan State will be played at Spartan Stadium in East Lansing, Mich. There have been two previous night games in the rivalry, but this will mark the first rivalry night game in East Lansing.

East Lansing will be the center of the college football world this weekend.

It was announced on Monday that both ESPN and Fox will bring their college football pregame shows to Michigan State for their huge rivalry matchup with the Wolverines. ESPN’s College GameDay will be located at Ralph Young Field and Fox’s Big Noon Kickoff pregame show will be outside the STEM Teaching and Learning Facility building.

College GameDay will start at 9 a.m. EDT and Big Noon Kickoff will start at 10 a.m. EDT.

The Spartans are a 4.5-point underdog against the Wolverines, according to Tipico. The game will take place at Spartan Stadium and kickoff at 12 p.m. EDT. This big-time matchup will be nationally televised on FOX.

Both the Spartans and Wolverines enter this matchup a perfect 7-0 on the season, with the winner remaining in first place in the Big Ten East Division.
