Lions meet with WR Ronnie Bell, TE Luke Schoonmaker at Michigan’s pro day

The Lions meet with WR Ronnie Bell, TE Luke Schoonmaker at Michigan’s pro day

The Michigan Wolverines held their pro day on Friday in Ann Arbor. At least three members of the Lions made the short drive to attend the workout.

Michigan has several draft prospects, but it seems the Lions were focused on wideout Ronnie Bell and TE Luke Schoonmaker. Per Tony Pauline of Pro Football Network, the Lions met with Bell at the pro day. He ran a ridiculously quick 3-cone drill at just 6.59 seconds.

Bell was Michigan’s top receiver in 2022 after missing almost all of the prior season with a broken leg. He’s generally projected as a middle-round pick. Bell previously met with the Lions at the Senior Bowl.

Schoonmaker was spotted talking with Lions TE coach Steve Heiden at the pro day. The 6-foot-5, 251-pounder is seen as a Day 3 prospect after an impressive athletic workout at the combine.

The Lions also dispatched defensive back coach Brian Duker to Ann Arbor. While there was no officially observed meeting, Duker spent the morning watching speedy Wolverines CB D.J. Turner.

Kicker Jake Moody had an impressive pro day, making 12-of-13 field goal attempts. Moody reiterated from his Scouting Combine interview that he’s still not had any visits or formal interviews with the Lions, however.

Potential Eagles NFL draft target David Ojabo suffered a torn Achilles during pro day

#Eagles #NFLDraft2022: #Michigan Edge rusher David #Ojabo sustained a torn Achilles in pass rush drill at his Pro Day

The Eagles had eyes on potential pass rushers before signing Haason Reddick to a deal, and one of the draft’s top prospects could slide in the draft after suffering a serious injury.

Michigan star pass rusher David Ojabo had to be helped off after suffering an injury in front of scouts and coaches.

Adam Schefter is now reporting that Ojabo tore his Achilles on Friday, an injury that both Eagles defensive end Brandon Graham, and Rams running back Cam Akers both suffered this season. Akers was able to return in six months, and a team drafting Ojabo will have to decide if he’ll likely sit out or miss the bulk of his rookie season.

An explosive player at Michigan, Ojabo ran a 4.55 in the 40 and had a 10-foot-2 broad jump at the NFL Combine, and could still be an option for the Eagles at some point.

Lions prominent at Michigan’s pro day, meet with Aidan Hutchinson

Both Brad HOlmes and Aaron Glenn made the trip to Ann Arbor to see the Wolverines defensive prospects

Lions GM Brad Holmes didn’t have far to travel for a major pro day on Friday. Holmes and Detroit defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn took the short jaunt out I-94 west to Ann Arbor for the Michigan Wolverines pro day workout.

The featured attraction is EDGE Aidan Hutchinson, and the big Detroit native did little to convince anyone otherwise. He is in definite consideration for the No. 1 overall pick, and the Lions at No. 2 have shown real strong interest in Hutchinson as well.

Hutchinson met with Glenn and Holmes after the workout, a meeting confirmed by numerous sources in attendance. They spent at least 20 minutes together. Hutchinson also did a full-length interview with Dannie Rogers of the Lions media team.

Hutchinson wasn’t the only Wolverine who should pique the Lions’ interest. Safety Daxton Hill is a great fit for Glenn’s split-safety defense and is a frequent projection in mock drafts for Detroit with the No. 32 or No. 34 overall pick. The Lions met with Hill during the NFL scouting combine.

Another top Wolverine prospect did not have a good day, unfortunately. EDGE David Ojabo went down with a lower leg injury that silenced the crowd. A likely top-25 pick, Ojabo suffered an audible pop and went down to the practice field turf in obvious pain and anguish.

2021 NFL Draft: Pro-day schedule, prospects the Eagles could target

Pro-day schedule for NFL draft prospects that the Philadelphia Eagles could have interest in.

The annual college pro-day circuit has kicked off and it’ll be a lot of different scenarios thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic.

With NFL teams and media now having limited exposure to prospects, the pro-day circuit could mean millions for a ton of players across the country.

Clemson QB and presumptive No. 1 overall pick Trevor Lawrence held his own Pro-day on February 12th, so he could have an early surgery on his non-throwing shoulder and wanted to get more time to rehab in advance of his rookie season.

Top decision-makers from the Eagles made the trip to Clemson and they’ll likely hit the road to view players since there will be no in-person workouts and pro days will be held on campus instead.

With the Eagles set for a rebuild and in need of young talent, here are the upcoming Pro Day schedules for players that could interest the Birds.
