Michael Kennedy may be joining the Pittsburgh Pirates, who selected him in the fourth round on Monday.
[autotag]Michael Kennedy[/autotag] became the sixth member of LSU’s vaunted 2022 recruiting class to be drafted as he was taken at pick No. 110 in the fourth round by the Pittsburgh Pirates on Monday.
Kennedy was rated as a four-star left-handed pitcher/first baseman coming out of Troy High School in New York. He has been committed to playing for LSU since 2019, and that commitment never waivered as he signed with the Tigers on national signing day.
Now the talented young athlete has a decision to make. Kennedy can stay true to his commitment and come play for Jay Johnson and LSU, or he can sign with the Pittsburgh Pirates and begin his pro career.
Pick No. 110 is valued at $554,600 so that would be quite the payday for a kid straight out of high school. Kennedy was ranked as the No. 89 player overall by MLB.com heading into the draft as a 6-foot-1, 205-pound pitcher.
