Memphis Grizzlies at Los Angeles Clippers odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Saturday’s Memphis Grizzlies at Los Angeles Clippers and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Memphis Grizzlies (26-14) meet the Los Angeles Clippers (19-20) Saturday in a mid-day matinee at the Crypto.com Arena. The tip-off is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Grizzlies vs. Clippers odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

Memphis is surging as winners of seven in a row (6-1 ATS) with the latest being a 30-point beatdown of the Detroit Pistons Thursday.

Over the past two weeks, the Grizzlies has the third-best adjusted net rating at plus-12.6 points per 100 possessions and the best spread differential at a plus-12.4 ATS margin, according to CleaningTheGlass.com (CTG).

L.A. has lost three of its past four games including its most recent, 106-86, Thursday at the Phoenix Suns, failing to cover as 10.5-point road underdogs.

In the last 14 days, the Clippers are 2-5 straight-up (SU), 3-4 ATS and 4-3 O/U with the 24th-ranked adjusted net rating at minus-6.6 points per 100 possessions, per CTG.

Memphis is 2-0 SU and ATS versus L.A., and the total is 2-0 O/U in both Grizzlies-Clippers meetings this season.

Grizzlies at Clippers odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Grizzlies 117, Clippers 104

Money line

“LEAN” to the GRIZZLIES (-130) or PASS altogether, because I’d rather lay the points with Memphis than pay the extra vig with the money line.

But, Memphis is 2-1 SU as a road favorite with a plus-11.0 scoring margin and L.A. is 1-3 SU as a home underdog.

Against the spread

BET 1.5 units on the GRIZZLIES -1.5 (-120). I’m not trying to be a hero and fade this red-hot Memphis team.

The Grizzlies have already beaten the Clippers twice this season, and that was a much healthier L.A. team than this version. The Clippers are missing several key contributors including All-Star wing Paul George.

Since PG13 was sidelined with an elbow injury Dec. 26, L.A. has the sixth-worst adjusted net rating at minus-7.4 points per 100 possessions (CTG) and ranks 25th in effective field goal shooting.

Also, the Clippers are 0-2 SU and ATS versus the Grizzlies despite PG putting up 32.0 points per game (PPG) on 70.1% true shooting (.558/.476/1.000).

Memphis breakout superstar Ja Morant has balled out versus L.A. as well. Morant is averaging 28.0 PPG on 64.3% true shooting (.575/.333/.750) and 6.5 assists per game against the Clippers this season.

Furthermore, this is a better spot for the Grizzlies, who are 13-5 ATS in away games whereas the Clippers are 9-14 ATS at home and 1-3 ATS in day games.

Finally, Memphis has a couple of strength-on-weakness edges in the ball security and rebounding departments.

BET the GRIZZLIES -3.5 (-120).

Over/Under

PASS because I’m expecting the Grizzlies to maul the Clippers, and this game could die out in the second half if it’s one-sided. For what’s worth, Memphis is 19-21 O/U and L.A. is 17-22 O/U.

Memphis Grizzlies at Cleveland Cavaliers odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Tuesday’s Memphis Grizzlies at Cleveland Cavaliers and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Memphis Grizzlies (24-14) meet the Cleveland Cavaliers (21-16) Tuesday at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse for a 7 p.m. ET tip-off. Below, we look at the Grizzlies vs. Cavaliers odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

Memphis won its fifth straight game Monday by beating the brakes off the Brooklyn Nets 118-104 as a 6.5-point underdog.

The Grizzlies are 5-1 straight-up (SU), 4-2 ATS and 3-3 O/U over the past two weeks with the sixth-best adjusted net rating plus-7.8 points per 100 possessions, according to CleaningTheGlass.com (CTG).

Cleveland snapped its three-game losing skid by defeating the Indiana Pacers 108-104 Sunday as a 4-point favorite.

The Cavs are 2-4 SU, 2-4 ATS and 1-4-1 O/U in the last 14 days with the 14th-ranked adjusted net rating at plus-0.4 points per 100 possessions (per CTG).

The Grizzlies took down the Cavs 132-121 as 7-point home favorites in their first meeting Oct. 20.

Grizzlies at Cavaliers odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Grizzlies 107, Cavaliers 104

Money line

SPRINKLE on the GRIZZLIES (+125) with the plan on betting a full unit or so on Memphis’s spread. However, the Grizzlies are 6-3 SU versus teams in the top-10 of efficiency differential while Cleveland is 5-10 SU (per CTG).

The Cavs also have the third-best defensive rating but the Grizzlies play very well against good defenses. Memphis is 8-3 SU against top-10 defenses with the fourth-best adjusted net rating and the fifth-best spread differential at a plus-2.1 ATS margin.

More importantly, the Grizzlies have strength-on-weakness edges in their favor in the ball security and rebounding departments.

Memphis has the fifth-best defensive turnover rate and scores the third-most points off of turnovers per game. Whereas Cleveland has the third-worst offensive turnover rate and ranks 24th in points off of turnovers allowed per game.

While PG Darius Garland returning to action is a good thing for Cleveland its turnover rate actually increases by 1.3% when Garland is on the floor, which grades in the 24th percentile of point guards.

Memphis thoroughly dominated Cleveland on the glass in their first meeting this season. The Grizzlies outrebounded the Cavs 53-36 (13-7 in offensive rebounds) and Memphis big Steven Adams owns Cleveland big Jarrett Allen on the glass in their head-to-head history.

Adams outrebounds Allen 13.1-6.4 on average per game in their seven career head-to-head meetings. Perhaps not so coincidentally, Adams’ teams are 6-1 all-time versus Allen’s teams.

The plan is to bet more on Memphis plus the points but SPRINKLE on the GRIZZLIES (+125) for a little extra value.

Against the spread

Definitely BET the GRIZZLIES +3.5 (-112) heavier than or instead of the money line because this is a much better spot for Memphis.

The Grizzlies are 4-2 ATS on the second game of a back-to-back set and have the best cover rate when playing with a rest disadvantage at 6-2 ATS with a plus-4.8 ATS margin.

The GRIZZLIES +3.5 (-112) is my favorite wager in this game.

Over/Under

“LEAN” to the UNDER 217.5 (-110) for a half-unit because this total is suspicious. The first Grizzlies-Cavaliers meeting went over the 217-point total by 35 points yet this game’s total is only a half-point higher. Hmmm.

Cleveland is 3-7 O/U as a home favorite and Memphis is 2-4 O/U on zero days rest with a minus-7.3 total margin.

Memphis Grizzlies at Brooklyn Nets odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Monday’s Memphis Grizzlies at Brooklyn Nets and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Memphis Grizzlies (23-14) visit Barclays Center Monday for a 7:30 p.m. ET tip-off against the Brooklyn Nets (23-11). Below, we look at the Grizzlies vs. Nets odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

Memphis enters on a four-game win streak with the latest being a 118-105 Grizzlies victory as 5.5-point favorites over the San Antonio Spurs Friday.

Memphis is 4-3 straight-up (SU), 3-2 ATS and 3-2 O/U over the last 14 days with the 11th-best adjusted net rating at plus-3.1 points per 100 possessions, according to CleaningTheGlass.com (CTG).

Brooklyn has lost and failed to cover in back-to-back home games to the Philadelphia 76ers 110-102 Thursday and to the Los Angeles Clippers 120-116 Saturday.

The Nets are 2-2 SU, 2-2 ATS and 3-1 O/U over the last two weeks with the 11th-best non-garbage time net rating at plus-2.9 points per 100 possessions (CTG).

The Grizzlies have won four straight versus the Nets (4-0 ATS) and the total is 2-2 O/U in those contests.

Grizzlies at Nets odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Grizzlies 111, Nets 108

Money line

Slight “LEAN” to the GRIZZLIES (+220) for a tiny wager, if at all, because I “like” Memphis getting points in this spot but the Nets are much healthier heading into this game.

However, Brooklyn has struggled with quality competition. The Nets are 3-6 SU against teams in the top-10 of efficiency differential with the 18th-ranked adjusted net rating at minus-5.3 points per 100 possessions and the worst spread differential at a minus-8.3 ATS margin (CTG).

Backing the Nets at home also hasn’t been very profitable this season. Brooklyn is 10-8 SU at home but has the 20th-ranked adjusted net rating and the third-worst spread differential at a minus-5.6 ATS margin. Whereas Memphis has the second-best cover rate on the road at 11-5 ATS.

Furthermore, Memphis has the ninth-best non-garbage time offensive rating and Brooklyn has also struggled against good offensive teams.

The Nets are 2-7 SU versus teams in the top-10 of offensive rating with the 24th-ranked adjusted net rating at minus-8.9 points per 100 possessions and the worst spread differential at a minus-11.8 ATS margin.

Again, I only slightly “LEAN” to the GRIZZLIES (+220) for a small bet with the plan of betting much more on Memphis’s spread.

Against the spread

Definitely BET the GRIZZLIES +6.5 (-112) heavier than or instead of Memphis’s money line.

This is a Pros vs. Joe’s game with the presumed sharp money backing Memphis but more bets have been placed on Brooklyn. Nearly 60% of the cash is on the Grizzlies but roughly 55% of the action is on the Nets according to pregame.com.

Typically, in sports betting, it’s wise to follow the money especially when it’s counter to the public. Plus the oddsmakers have reacted to the money by making Brooklyn’s spread cheaper.

The GRIZZLIES +6.5 (-112) is by far my favorite wager in this game.

Over/Under

“LEAN” to the UNDER 228.5 (-115) for a half-unit because this total is just way too high. Brooklyn is 7-11 O/U at home with a minus-3.3 total margin, Memphis is 7-8-1 O/U on the road with a minus-4.9 total margin and both teams are in the bottom-eight of 3-point attempt rate.

San Antonio Spurs at Memphis Grizzlies odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Friday’s San Antonio Spurs at Memphis Grizzlies and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The San Antonio Spurs (14-19) meet the Memphis Grizzlies (22-14) Friday for an 8 p.m. ET tip-off at the FedExForum. Below, we look at the Spurs vs. Grizzlies odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

San Antonio had its three-game winning streak snapped Monday in a 110-104 loss to the Utah Jazz, but the Spurs covered as 7-point home underdogs.

In the last 14 days, San Antonio is 4-2 straight-up (SU), 5-1 ATS, and 4-2 O/U with the second-best adjusted net rating at plus-13.2 points per 100 possessions, according to CleaningTheGlass.com (CTG).

Memphis squeaked past the Los Angeles Lakers 104-99 Wednesday as 6-point home favorites to win its third consecutive game.

The Grizzlies are 4-3 SU, 3-4 ATS, and 4-3 O/U over the past two weeks with the 12th-ranked adjusted net rating at plus-3.2 points per 100 possessions (CTG).

Memphis beat San Antonio in all three meetings last season, covering in two of those victories, and the total was 2-1 O/U in those contests.

Spurs at Grizzlies odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Spurs 113, Grizzlies 109

Money line

“SPRINKLE” a small wager on the SPURS (+180) because they are better than their record indicates and I like the value of San Antonio’s spread.

For instance, San Antonio has the second-worst win differential at minus-4.0 according to adjusted net rating, which essentially means the Spurs should have four more wins than they currently do.

Furthermore, San Antonio can neutralize Memphis’s fastbreak offense. The Spurs have the third-best defensive efficiency vs. transition offense and allow the third-fewest fastbreak points per game.

Also, don’t sleep on the absences of Brooks and Melton for the Grizzlies. Brooks grades in the 90th percentile of wings in on/off adjusted net rating at plus-10.3 points per 100 possessions and Melton grades in the 72nd percentile of combo guards at plus-4.6 points per 100 possessions (CTG).

That said, San Antonio plus the points is the much sharper play so it’s only a “LEAN” towards the SPURS (+180) with the plan of putting a full unit on their spread.

Against the spread

Definitely BET the SPURS +5.5 (-110) heavier than or instead of the money line since this is a better spot for San Antonio who has covered four straight games entering Friday.

On top of that, the Spurs are 7-1 ATS when getting spotted 5-7 points and 9-4 ATS as a road underdog with a plus-7.7 spread differential. Whereas, Memphis is 6-8 ATS as a home favorite.

For what it’s worth, the SPURS +5.5 (-110) is my favorite play in this game.

Over/Under

Slight “LEAN” to the UNDER 226.5 (-110) for a small wager, if at all, because the Spurs are 5-10-1 O/U on the road with a minus-5.8 margin on the total and the Grizzlies have the best defensive rating this month.

That said, I can only “lean” to the Under because San Antonio has gone Over the total in its last eight vs. teams with a winning record and the Over has cashed in five of the last six Spurs-Grizzlies meetings.

Los Angeles Lakers at Memphis Grizzlies odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Wednesday’s Los Angeles Lakers at Memphis Grizzlies and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Los Angeles Lakers (17-18) hook up with the Memphis Grizzlies (21-14) Wednesday for an 8 p.m. ET game at the FedExForum. Below, we look at the Lakers vs. Grizzlies odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

L.A. snapped its five-game losing skid last night (Tuesday) by beating the Houston Rockets 132-123 as 6-point road favorites.

Over the past two weeks, the Lakers are 2-5 straight-up (SU), 2-5 ATS and 4-3 O/U with the 25th-ranked adjusted net rating at minus-9.0 points per 100 possessions (CTG).

Memphis has won back-to-back road games at the Sacramento Kings 127-102 Sunday and at the Phoenix Suns 114-113 Monday.

In the last 14 days, the Grizzlies are 4-3 SU, 4-3 ATS and 4-3 O/U with the eighth-best adjusted net rating at plus-5.3 points per 100 possessions (CTG).

These teams are tied 1-1 in their regular-season series heading into the rubber match but the Grizzlies covered both meetings.

Lakers at Grizzlies odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Grizzlies 120, Lakers 109

Money line

PASS because I’m confident enough in Memphis that I’ll just lay the points instead of pay the extra vigorish with the Grizzlies (-240).

Against the spread

GIMME 1.25 units on the GRIZZLIES -5.5 (-112) for a bevy of reasons. First of all, Memphis performs well vs. teams playing the second of a back-to-back.

For instance, the Grizzlies are 5-3 SU vs. teams on zero days rest with the sixth-best adjusted net rating at plus-12.1 points per 100 possessions and the fifth-best ATS margin at plus-5.9 (CTG).

Also, there are a couple of strength-on-weakness edges in Memphis’s favor such as in the ball security and rebounding departments.

In fact, the Grizzlies score the fifth-most points off turnovers per game while the Lakers allow the fifth-most points off of turnovers per game.

Furthermore, Memphis scores the most second-chance points per game whereas L.A. is 21st in second-chance points allowed per game.

Lastly, there’s been a sharp line move in Memphis’s direction since the Grizzlies opened as 5-point favorites but have been steamed up to the current number.

The bottom line is the GRIZZLIES -5.5 (-112) have a variety of ways to beat teams whereas the Lakers +5.5 (-108) really only have LeBron James getting empty stats.

Over/Under

Slight “LEAN” to the OVER 225.5 (-115) for a tiny wager, if at all, because both teams get out in transition, and the Over has been hit by sharp money hence the total being increased from the 226-point opener.

In addition, the Over has cashed in three straight Memphis games, L.A. has gone Over the total in four of the past five games, and the Over is 2-1 in the last three Lakers-Grizzlies games.

That said, a vast majority of the market is betting the Over for this game as well, and I hate following a crowd of people in sports betting.

Memphis Grizzlies at Golden State Warriors odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Thursday’s Memphis Grizzlies at Golden State Warriors odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Memphis Grizzlies (19-13) meet the Golden State Warriors (25-6) Thursday at the Chase Center for a 10 p.m. ET tip-off. Below, we look at the Grizzlies vs. Warriors odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

Memphis has lost back-to-back games to the Portland Trail Blazers 105-100 Sunday and to the Oklahoma City Thunder 102-99 Monday.

Over the past two weeks, the Grizzlies are 5-3 straight-up (SU), 4-4 ATS and 3-5 O/U with the fifth-best non-garbage time net rating (plus-8.4 points per 100 possessions), according to CleaningTheGlass.com (CTG).

Golden State has won four of its past five games including the most recent, 113-98, over the Sacramento Kings Monday, barely covering as 13.5-point home favorites.

The Warriors are 5-2 SU, 2-4-1 ATS and 2-5 O/U with the 13th-ranked non-garbage time net rating (even 0.0 points per 100 possessions), per CTG.

The Grizzlies beat the Warriors in their first meeting of the season, Oct. 28, 104-101 in overtime as 6-point road underdogs.

Grizzlies at Warriors odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Warriors 108, Grizzlies 105

Money line

PASS on the money line with a slight “lean” to the Grizzlies +180.

Memphis beat Golden State in the Bay Area earlier this season, handing the Warriors their first loss. Memphis matches up well with Golden State and should compete with them.

Against the spread

BET on the GRIZZLIES +5.5 (-110) as a great value bet. The Warriors are down their second- and third-best scoring threat.

The player that typically slides into the starting lineup for Poole is out as well. The Dubs are short-handed and should struggle against an athletic Grizzlies.

Memphis ranks 8th in turnover rate and second in offensive rebounding. That’s a recipe for success, and it has worked against Golden State already this season.

I’d bank on this being a close game.

Over/Under

“LEAN” to the UNDER 217.5 (-108) as the Warriors are just missing too many key players.

They’ll likely put Moses Moody or Gary Payton II into the starting lineup along with Otto Porter Jr. Those are a few defensive-minded players that will only marginally contribute offensively.

With Morant having struggled since his return on the other side, I’ll take the fewer points as neither team turns the rock over. The Warriors top-of-the-league defense should also be a factor that helps bolster the Under.

Portland Trail Blazers at Memphis Grizzlies odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Sunday’s Portland Trail Blazers at Memphis Grizzlies odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

A red-hot Memphis Grizzlies (19-11) host the Portland Trail Blazers (12-18) Sunday for a 6 p.m. ET tip-off at FedExForum. Below, we look at the Trail Blazers vs. Grizzlies odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

Portland snapped its seven-game losing skid with a 125-116 victory at home over the Charlotte Hornets Friday.

The Trail Blazers are 1-5 overall, 2-4 ATS and 3-3-1 O/U with the 25th-ranked non-garbage time efficiency differential (minus-5.5 points per 100 possessions) over the last two weeks, according to CleaningTheGlass.com (CTG).

Memphis has won six of its past seven games (5-2 ATS and 3-4 O/U) over the last two weeks with the latest being a 124-105 victory over the Sacramento Kings Friday. The Grizzlies has the third-best non-garbage time net rating in the last 14 days (plus-12.5 points per 100 possessions), per CTG.

This is the third of four meetings between these two teams this season. They split the first two in Portland with the Under cashing in both meetings. Memphis beat Portland 113-103 as a 1.5-point road underdog Wednesday.

Trail Blazers at Grizzlies odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Grizzlies 117, Trail Blazers 107

Money line

PASS because Memphis is the right side but the Grizzlies (-205) are way too expensive for any NBA regular-season favorite, let alone a team missing its best player and due for a letdown performance.

However, I don’t think we see said “letdown performance” in this spot from the Grizzlies and I’m confident enough in them to lay it with Memphis’s spread.

Against the spread

BET the GRIZZLIES -5.5 (-105) for 1 unit because the Trail Blazers have been awful on the road this season and Memphis has a better rebounding rate and ball security.

Portland is 1-11 overall and 2-10 ATS on the road with the third-worst net rating (minus-11.7 points per 100 possessions) and the worst spread differential (minus-9.7), according to CTG.

The Trail Blazers’ attack is also centered around G Damian Lillard who hasn’t played well on the road himself.

Dame Time is averaging 20.6 points per game (PPG) on 49.0% true shooting (.376/.239/.875) with a minus-17 net rating in away games. Lillard is averaging 24.4 PPG on 56.6% true shooting with a plus-three net rating at home.

For what it’s worth, Memphis has been bet by sharp money early as the Grizzlies have been steamed up from a 4.5-point opening favorite up to the current number.

Over/Under

“LEAN” to the OVER 218.5 (-108) for a half-unit because Memphis likes to get out in transition and Portland is terrible on defense.

The previous Trail Blazers-Grizzlies meeting played at an above-average pace but Portland shot 37.8% from the field. I think the Trail Blazers will shoot better in this meeting but so will Memphis. Also, the Over has cashed in six of the last seven games the Grizzlies have been favored in.

Memphis Grizzlies at Portland Trail Blazers odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Wednesday’s Memphis Grizzlies at Portland Trail Blazers odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Memphis Grizzlies (17-11) travel to the Rose City Wednesday for a 10 p.m. ET tip-off against the Portland Trail Blazers (11-17) at Moda Center. Below, we look at the Grizzlies vs. Trail Blazers odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions, and bets.

Memphis has won eight of its past nine games (7-2 ATS), all since Ja Morant has been sidelined with an injury.

This month the Grizzlies have the best efficiency differential in the league (plus-17.7 points per 100 possessions) and the best defensive rating, according to CleaningTheGlass.com (CTG).

Portland lost its sixth straight game last night (Tuesday) against the Phoenix Suns 111-107 in overtime as 1.5-point home underdogs.

The Trail Blazers are winless in December (1-5 ATS) with the second-worst efficiency differential (minus-12.9 points per 100 possessions) and worst spread differential (minus-13.1).

Portland crushed Memphis 116-96 in their first meeting this season, Oct. 27.

Grizzlies at Trail Blazers odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Grizzlies 115, Trail Blazers 108

Money line

PASS with a heavy “lean” to the Grizzlies (-140) because I’d much rather take Memphis to win outright than lay the points. But, this money line is slightly too pricey for me, and I’ll chase the value with Memphis’ spread.

Against the spread

This feels like a trap spot for the Trail Blazers +2.5 (-112), who’ve been awesome at home most of the year, and are playing a GRIZZLIES -2.5 (-108) missing its best player.

Oddsmakers understand that Memphis is playing much better basketball at the moment, and this line suggests they are trying to entice more pro-Portland action.

Furthermore, in the first Grizzlies-Trail Blazers meeting this season, McCollum scored a game-high 25 points, and Morant had a game-high nine turnovers with a game-low minus-25 plus/minus.

Well, Portland’s offense is strictly Damian Lillard-centered at this point, and Memphis turns the ball over less with Morant off the floor.

However, we’ve seen all the complimentary Memphis players step up in the absence of Morant, and the Grizzlies’ defense has been insane recently.

Also, Portland is 5-7 ATS as a home underdog since the beginning of last season with a minus-6.4 spread differential.

On top of that, Memphis has a higher rebounding rate, a better turnover rate and forces more turnovers. Roll with the GRIZZLIES -2.5 (-108).

Over/Under

“LEAN” to the OVER 216.5 (-115) for a small wager because the first Grizzlies-Trail Blazers meeting this season had a 232.5-point total, and there has been too big of an adjustment for this game.

That said, I don’t love this pick because there has been “sharp line movement” towards the Under as the total opened at 220 and has been steamed down to the current number.

Also, despite Portland’s atrocious defense, the Trail Blazers are still 13-14-1 O/U so the oddsmakers have appropriately adjusted to Portland’s defensive horribleness.

Philadelphia 76ers at Memphis Grizzlies odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Monday’s Philadelphia 76ers at Memphis Grizzlies odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Memphis Grizzlies (16-11) host the Philadelphia 76ers (15-12) Monday for an 8 p.m. ET game at the FedExForum. Below, we look at the 76ers vs. Grizzlies odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions, and bets.

Philly upset the Golden State Warriors 102-93 Saturday as a 3-point home underdog. The Sixers are 5-2 straight-up (SU), 3-4 against the spread (ATS) and 1-5-1 Over/Under (O/U) with the 14th-ranked non-garbage time-efficiency differential over the past two weeks, according to CleaningTheGlass.com (CTG).

Since PG Ja Morant has been sidelined with a knee injury (starting Nov. 28), Memphis is 7-1 SU, 6-2 ATS and 2-5 O/U with the best non-garbage time-efficiency differential. The Grizzlies are coming off back-to-back wins vs. the Houston Rockets and Los Angeles Lakers.

76ers at Grizzlies odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

76ers 115, Grizzlies 102

Money line

PASS since Philly is obviously the right side in this one, but the 76ers (-155) is a little out of my price range for an NBA regular-season favorite.

However, I wouldn’t rule out parlaying Philly’s money line with perhaps the Cleveland Cavaliers’ money line (-220 vs.  Miami Heat) for a much better payout.

Against the spread

BET 76ERS -3.5 (-108) because the Grizzlies +3.5 may be without three starters and the possible absence of Adams would most likely lead to Philly big Joel Embiid completely owning the interior.

Jackson grades in the 97th percentile of bigs in on/off-efficiency differential and Adams grades in the 81st percentile, according to CTG. Adams’ absence would significantly hurt Memphis’s team rebounding, which has been a weakness for Philly despite having two quality rebounding bigs.

Also, the market could be overrating the Grizzlies based on recent results vs. poor teams. Memphis has held down the fort without Morant, but it’s fair to question who the Grizzlies have played.

Memphis’s defensive efficiency has been awesome since Morant has been out, but it has only played one team ranked in the top half of the NBA in offensive rating (Miami). But the Heat’s non-garbage time-offensive efficiency ranks just 19th over the past two weeks.

Over/Under

“LEAN” to the OVER 210.5 (-112) for a small wager because Memphis pushes the pace of this game since getting hot from behind the arc is the Grizzlies’ best path to victory.

Memphis plays the third-highest rate of transition offense, and Philly’s defense has the second-worst efficiency vs. transition offense. It would make more sense for the Sixers to grind the game out. But since the Grizzlies are outmanned, I could see Philly playing with their food here.

Plus, I see value in bucking the recent Under-heavy trends such as the Under cashing in Memphis’s past four games as an underdog and the Under being 5-1-1 in Philly’s past seven games.

Philadelphia 76ers at Memphis Grizzlies odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Saturday’s Philadelphia 76ers at Memphis Grizzlies NBA betting odds and lines, with basketball picks, tips and predictions.

The Philadelphia 76ers (9-4) visit the Memphis Grizzlies (5-6) Saturday at the FedExForum for an 8 p.m. ET tip-off. Below, we analyze the 76ers-Grizzlies NBA betting odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

Philadelphia won back-to-back games over a COVID-depleted Miami Heat team coming into Saturday. 76ers C Joel Embiid went off for 45 points and 16 rebounds in the first game vs. the Heat Jan. 12 but struggled in the next game, scoring just 9 points. Unfortunately for Philadelphia, Embiid—who is the 76ers’ leading scorer and rebounder—will miss at least the next two games with knee pain.

The Grizzlies hope to be getting back last season’s Rookie of the Year PG Ja Morant from a sprained ankle that forced Morant to miss seven games. Memphis was 1-3 (2-2 against the spread) in its first four without Morant but have won and covered three straight before this game.

The 76ers boat raced the Grizzlies 119-107 in their lone meeting last season, and Philadelphia is 5-2 ATS in the past seven vs. Memphis.

76ers at Grizzlies: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Grizzlies 107, 76ers 101

Money line (ML)

The Grizzlies have low-key played some of the best defense in the league to start the season. Memphis ranks fifth in defensive rating, ninth in effective field-goal percentage and seventh in defensive turnover percentage.

Philadelphia’s offense isn’t very scary now that Embiid is joining Curry on the sidelines. Ben Simmons still has enough to work with to get the 76ers by, but I lean GRIZZLIES (+125) for a half-unit because I like Memphis to cover.

Against the spread (ATS)

The 76ers have been a terrible bet as a road favorite since 2019: 6-14-1 ATS with a minus-5.8-point ATS margin. Also, Memphis just does the little things better than Philadelphia; the Grizzlies average more points off of turnovers, points in the paint, fast break points and second-chance points per game than the 76ers.

Memphis even holds opponents to fewer points per game in three of those categories and the only one they don’t (opponent’s points in the paint), Philadelphia has a reduced edge in since Embiid is out.

GIMME GRIZZLIES +3.5 (-115) for 1.5 units.

Over/Under (O/U)

PASS ON THE TOTAL. Morant’s return will help the Grizzlies’ offense in the long run, but let’s wait and see before we start betting on that. Second, both these teams like to get out in transition – so that could equal easy points either way. Finally, Philadelphia’s offense plus Memphis’ defense screams “Under”, but it’s rather too obvious.
