Zane Smith to run select Truck races with McAnally-Hilgemann Racing in 2024

McAnally-Hilgemann Racing announced on Friday morning that Zane Smith will run select races in the NASCAR Truck Series in 2024.

[autotag]McAnally-Hilgemann Racing[/autotag] continues to add drivers to its lineup ahead of the 2024 NASCAR Truck Series season. On Friday morning, McAnally-Hilgemann Racing announced that [autotag]Zane Smith[/autotag] will run four races in the No. 91 truck this season. Smith will join Christian Eckes, Daniel Dye, Tyler Ankrum, and Jack Wood as drivers for the NASCAR team.

The 2022 Truck Series champion will drive the No. 91 truck at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on March 1, Bristol Motor Speedway on March 16, Texas Motor Speedway on April 12, and Kansas Speedway on May 4. Instacoat Premium Products will sponsor Smith in three of his four races, with the other event currently to be determined.

Smith is a massive addition to the McAnally-Hilgemann Racing lineup as he has proven his ability to win in the Truck Series. Eckes will lead the NASCAR organization for a second straight year, but it helps to have other winning drivers on the team. For Smith, breaking away from the NASCAR Cup Series and racing for victories in the Truck Series will be good.

McAnally-Hilgemann Racing’s 2023 NASCAR Truck Series season in review

McAnally-Hilgemann Racing had a good year in the NASCAR Truck Series. Here, you can check out the NASCAR team’s 2023 season in review!

[autotag]McAnally-Hilgemann Racing[/autotag] hired Christian Eckes to replace Derek Kraus in the No. 19 truck, and it came with much success. Eckes won four races over the course of the 2023 NASCAR Truck Series season as the team won its first race at Atlanta Motor Speedway. The driver of the No. 19 truck made too many mistakes in the Round of 8 to advance to the Championship 4.

However, Eckes won the season finale at Phoenix Raceway, which set the stage for what’s to come in 2024. Meanwhile, Jake Garcia ran well in his rookie season by securing three top-5 and nine top-10 finishes. It wasn’t enough to make the 2023 playoffs, but Garcia was very impressive in his 22 starts after missing the first race due to the age limit.

In 2024, Eckes hopes to lead McAnally-Hilgemann Racing as it expands. Daniel Dye and Tyler Ankrum will join as full-time drivers, while Jack Wood will drive a fourth truck part-time. The organization has grown into one of the premier teams in the Truck Series, and Eckes seems to be in a great position to give it even more victories.

Tyler Ankrum to join McAnally-Hilgemann Racing for 2024 NASCAR season

Tyler Ankrum will drive the No. 18 truck for McAnally-Hilgemann Racing on a full-time basis during the 2024 NASCAR Truck Series season.

[autotag]McAnally-Hilgemann Racing[/autotag]’s lineup in the NASCAR Truck Series is growing by the day. On Thursday morning, McAnally-Hilgemann Racing announced that [autotag]Tyler Ankrum[/autotag] would drive the No. 18 truck full-time alongside Christian Eckes and Daniel Dye. The No. 18 truck has been rebranded from the No. 35 truck, which Jake Garcia departed.

Ankrum has spent the last two seasons with Hattori Racing Enterprises, while the previous two were with GMS Racing. In the 22-year-old driver’s first season, he won with David Gilliland Racing, now TRICON Garage, at Kentucky Speedway. Ankrum has been unable to follow up with another victory and regresseed compared to the 2022 season last year.

This situation is good for Ankrum as it allows him to reset with a team that competes for weekly victories. As for McAnally-Hilgemann Racing, it allows them to take a look at Ankrum with some sponsorship money coming along as well. It will be interesting to see how this partnership goes as Ankrum looks to return to victory lane.

Jack Wood to run part-time for McAnally-Hilgemann Racing in 2024

Jack Wood will run part-time in the No. 91 truck for McAnally-Hilgemann Racing during the 2024 NASCAR Truck Series season.

[autotag]McAnally-Hilgemann Racing[/autotag] announced on Wednesday morning that [autotag]Jack Wood[/autotag] will drive the No. 91 truck part-time in the NASCAR Truck Series during the 2024 season. Wood would attempt to compete in 14 races while pulling double-duty in the No. 16 car on a full-time for Bill McAnally Racing in the ARCA Menards Series West.

In 2023, the 23-year-old driver competed in 13 races for Kyle Busch Motorsports before the organization sold its operations to Spire Motorsports. Wood finished the season with two top-10 finishes and a best finish of ninth place at Texas Motor Speedway. Wood is set to join Christian Eckes and Daniel Dye in the Truck Series.

Overall, this is a great partnership for both sides. Wood will be one of the championship contenders in the ARCA Menards Series West while competing in 14 Truck Series races. If all goes right, Wood could make the jump to full-time in 2025 if there are openings. This is a good fit for Wood and should allow him to grow as a driver.

Christian Eckes returning to McAnally-Hilgemann Racing in Truck Series for 2024

McAnally-Hilgemann Racing announced on Wednesday morning that Christian Eckes will return to the No. 19 truck for the 2024 NASCAR season.

[autotag]McAnally-Hilgemann Racing[/autotag] announced on Wednesday morning that [autotag]Christian Eckes[/autotag] will return to the No. 19 truck for the 2024 NASCAR Truck Series season. Eckes has experienced a breakthrough season with three victories and currently sits in a position to make the Championship 4 with the Round of 8 finale this weekend.

The driver of the No. 19 truck will have a new teammate as Daniel Dye comes to McAnally-Hilgemann Racing while Jake Garcia will pursue a new opportunity in 2024. Eckes will also have crew chief Charles Denike return as the partnership continues to gain chemistry. The No. 19 truck will continue to be sponsored by NAPA Auto Parts.

Overall, this is a great move for both Eckes and McAnally-Hilgemann Racing as the two pursue their first Truck Series championship. Due to Eckes’ success, he likely won’t be in the Truck Series for the long-term future but another opportunity to build on the 2023 NASCAR season is one that both sides couldn’t refuse.

Jake Garcia not returning to McAnally-Hilgemann Racing in 2024

Jake Garcia announced on Monday afternoon that he will not return to the No. 35 truck for McAnally-Hilgemann Racing in 2024.

[autotag]Jake Garcia[/autotag] announced on Monday afternoon that he will not return to the No. 35 truck for [autotag]McAnally-Hilgemann Racing[/autotag] during the 2024 NASCAR season. Garcia is currently in his rookie season in the NASCAR Truck Series and has run well with two top-5 finishes, eight top-10 finishes, and a 14.6 average finishing position.

The driver of the No. 35 truck stated he was pursuing a new opportunity and would share the news in the near future. Garcia would have been teammates with Christian Eckes and Daniel Dye, who will join McAnally-Hilgemann Racing in the No. 43 truck next year. Now, he will likely be in another good ride in 2024.

Garcia would make sense for several race teams, including Spire Motorsports, who purchased Kyle Busch Motorsports in the Truck Series. Another team, such as Kaulig Racing, could make sense if he decided to make the move to the NASCAR Xfinity Series. Either way, Garcia will likely have a good seat for the 2024 season and it’ll be interesting to see where he ends up.

Daniel Dye to join McAnally-Hilgemann Racing for 2024 NASCAR season

McAnally-Hilgemann Racing announced on Wednesday afternoon that Daniel Dye will join the organization on a full-time basis starting in 2024.

[autotag]McAnally-Hilgemann Racing[/autotag] teased an announcement was coming early on Wednesday and it lived up to the hype. The organization announced that [autotag]Daniel Dye[/autotag] will drive the No. 43 truck on a full-time basis starting in 2024 at Daytona International Speedway. Dye, 19, will join the team after GMS Racing announced it would cease operations at the end of the year.

The 19-year-old driver missed the 2023 playoffs and has yet to record a top-10 finish this year. Dye’s best finish was 11th place at World Wide Technlogy Raceway during the summer months. He hopes to have a breakout season with McAnally-Hilgemann Racing as the organization has improved its performance compared to last season with Christian Eckes and Jake Garcia.

Dye will bring the No. 43 from GMS Racing to McAnally-Hilgemann Racing as it has been his number since competing in the ARCA Menards Series. Now, only two GMS Racing drivers, Grant Enfinger and Rajah Caruth, in the Truck Series need a ride before the 2024 NASCAR season Daytona.
