We can promise you that Notre Dame won’t be making that return trip to Charlotte in December.

That is because their first trip to Charlotte scheduled for the final weekend of September against Wake Forest has been moved to the Wake Forest campus in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

Based upon the latest from the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Safety guidance, it is unlikely fans will be allowed to attend.

This will be Notre Dame’s third visit to Truist Field in program history, having won their first trips in 2011 and 2018.

I’m all for it being at Wake. I know the appeal of playing in NFL venues and the bigness it can bring to a bunch roughly 20 year olds, but in my eyes college football is best when played in college campuses.

Anyway, we can promise you Notre Dame won’t be returning to Charlotte in December because you can’t return if you haven’t yet been somewhere.

That said, again, anything short of an ACC Championship Game appearance will feel like a major letdown for Notre Dame in 2020.

The Belk Bowl is now the Duke’s Mayo Bowl and people had so many jokes

Bowl of mayo? Ewwww.

Say goodbye to the game formerly known as the Belk Bowl.

And say hello to the Duke’s Mayo Bowl.

Yes, thinking about a bowl of mayonnaise has got me extremely nauseous, but because Twitter made so many jokes — and good ones, too — about the newly-named bowl game between teams from the ACC and the SEC or the Big Ten, I’m pushing through to share them with you while trying not to think about a pile of mayo.

So here they are, a bunch of tweets about that new bowl name that was revealed with the help of former Carolina Panthers linebacker Luke Kuechly.
