Jameson Williams hilariously channeled Marshawn Lynch on an electric TD vs. the Jaguars

Marshawn Lynch should be VERY proud of Jameson Williams.

Once upon a time, Marshawn Lynch captivated the NFL world with his electric “Beast Quake” touchdown run against the New Orleans Saints during the 2011 playoffs. The play became synonymous with Lynch’s NSFW celebration, where he grabs his groin while leaping backward into the end zone.

Young Detroit Lions star receiver Jameson Williams saw an opportunity to perfectly channel that famous moment against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.

With the Lions already laying a beatdown on Jacksonville in the early third quarter, Williams took an intermediate pass and turned it into an electric 64-yard touchdown when he ran past the entire Jaguars defense. And as he crossed the plane, Williams leaped backward and recreated Lynch’s hilarious taunt.

It doesn’t get better than that:

Somewhere, you better believe that Lynch saw this Williams replay and smiled. As he should.

Russell Wilson hands off to Marshawn for ole time’s sake ahead of Steelers game

Russell Wilson hands off to Marshawn for ole time’s sake ahead of Steelers game

Nostalgia seems to be the word of the week for the Seattle Seahawks. They wore their throwback jerseys on Thursday, they had Walter Jones and Marcus Trufant raise the 12th Man Flag for their two games, and now, a bit of recent memory resurfacing.

For the first time this season, Russell Wilson is officially active for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Wilson has been dealing with a calf injury, and has only been the emergency third-string quarterback. Now, ahead of their game against the Las Vegas Raiders, Wilson was warming up.

During the warmups, an old friend by the name of Marshawn Lynch was on the field. Lynch, a former Raider himself, can pretty much go wherever he wants in the NFL these days… and as he should. In Vegas, Lynch was interacting with the Steelers, including his former quarterback.

For ole times sake, during the warmups, Lynch took one more handoff from Wilson.

A lot has been written about Russell Wilson over the past two-plus years since he forced his way out of Seattle. Not all of it positive, especially when it came to intrapersonal relationships with teammates. However, it is great to see two of the most iconic Seahawks of all time, regardless of what they may be wearing at the moment, exchange some pleasantries.

Because no matter what, their histories are forever intertwined.

Seahawks legend Marshawn Lynch may run for mayor of Oakland!

Seahawks legend Marshawn Lynch may run for mayor of Oakland!

Legendary Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch is a man of the people. Among the most beloved figures around the National Football League, Lynch’s reputation continues to thrive with each public appearance.

Now, “Beast Mode” is considering running for mayor of Oakland.

“It might be a possibility,” Lynch said on his podcast with California governor Gavin Newsom and Doug Hendrickson, via Christopher Cadalego of Politco.com, announcing a potential run for mayor of Oakland.

Newsom than told Lynch that that polling shows that the five-time Pro Bowler has a favorable rating of 43 percent in Oakland — and an unfavorable rating of only seven percent, making a run at mayor a legitimate possibility.

“That’s off the charts, brother,” Newsom said. “Seven percent unfavorable? That never has happened in my life.”

Current Oakland mayor Sheng Thao is at risk of facing a potential recall election. If that happens, the possibility of Lynch running for mayor becomes opportunistic.

“We don’t want to jump the gun just yet, from what I was told,” Lynch said. “I got a good internal team, you know, and I want to make sure I take this off-line with my internal team and make sure this is something that we really wanna do.”

Lynch hails from Oakland played the majority of his illustrious career on the West Coast. After six seasons in Seattle (2010-15), Lynch played for his hometown Raiders for two campaigns (2017-18). He later concluded his career by reuniting with the Seahawks for one final season in 2019.

Lynch has also maintained ties to the local community. He’s a partial owner in the Seattle Kraken (NHL), FCF Beasts (Fan Controlled Football League), and the Bay Area Panthers (Indoor Football League).

A run for mayor would be so epic. Beast Mode has our vote!

Remembering the time Marshawn Lynch took a celebratory joy ride on an injury cart at Cal

Here’s hoping Marshawn Lynch will make his College GameDay entrance like this.

Whether it was in the NFL or at Cal in college, Marshawn Lynch cemented himself as a fun and sometimes unpredictable character, delivering so many memorable moments.

For Week 6 of the college football season, Lynch is returning to Cal as the guest picker on ESPN’s College GameDay show on Saturday, and his appearance is practically guaranteed to be memorable as well. And we’re hoping he makes a grand entrance, perhaps riding in on a cart like he did way back when.

After an overtime win against Washington, the Golden Bears running back commandeered an injury cart in celebration and drove it all over the field and creating a moment that’s now synonymous with his name.

In 2018, Lynch explained how that incredible injury-cart ride happened:

“It was meant to happen: The keys was in there, it was facing in the direction I needed to go, so I slid in that thing, and I started yoking that mother [expletive].”

Of course, Lynch made a similar entrance on College GameDay.

Marshawn Lynch issues bold challenge to Cal students ahead of first-ever College GameDay appearance

Marshawn Lynch wants Cal students to pull an all-nighter ahead of an early College GameDay in Berkeley.

Saturday is set to be a momentous day in the history of Cal football.

For the first time in program history, the Golden Bears are set to host ESPN’s College GameDay in Berkeley for their Saturday night contest against a top-10 Miami team, bringing the #Calgorithm to a national audience. After Saturday, just six Power Four programs will have yet to host the iconic pregame show.

If you’re going to Cal for GameDay, there’s only one possible guest picker the show could have chosen: former Golden Bears running back and Super Bowl champion Marshawn Lynch.

Lynch, whose career in Berkeley is perhaps best remembered by his iconic joyride in an injury cart, has a larger-than-life personality. And when it was announced that he would serve as the guest picker for this weekend’s festivities, he issued quite a bold challenge to Cal students.

He wants them to pull an all-nighter ahead of College GameDay after their night out. The program begins at 6 a.m. local time, and the pit opens to students at 3:30 a.m. With the game not kicking off until 7:30, that would be quite a long day and an impressive feat for any student who accomplishes it.

On the other hand, how could you ever turn down a challenge from the legendary Marshawn Lynch?

Legendary running back named guest picker for College GameDay in Week 6

Former Cal running back Marshawn Lynch is the celebrity guest picker for ESPN’s College GameDay in Week 6 in Berkeley, California.

For the first time ever, ESPN’s College GameDay will post up in Berkeley to take in Cal’s first home ACC matchup on Saturday against the Miami Hurricanes. And there was little mystery who would get selected to be the celebrity guest picker: former Golden Bears running back Marshawn Lynch.

Lynch is known for his gregarious personality, goofy antics with the media, love of Skittles, and as one of the best running backs of the past 20 years.

Beast Mode spent three years at Cal from 2004-2006, leading the country with 1,356 rushing yards and 15 touchdowns from scrimmage in 2006, earning Pac-10 Offensive Player of the Year.

He went on to have a prolific 12-year NFL career, earning five Pro Bowl nods and being named a first team All-Pro in 2012 with the Seattle Seahawks.

GameDay’s announcement on social media poked fun at one of Lynch’s most infamous moments, when he rode a golf car onto Cal’s field.

Fans who attend the GameDay festivities in Berkeley will have a long time to wait until the game kicks off, which will happen at 7:30 PM local time on October 5th.

Seahawks RB Zach Charbonnet has a chance to make history on Monday

Seahawks RB Zach Charbonnet has a chance to make history on Monday

The Seattle Seahawks are 3-0 to start the 2024 season and will look to improve to 4-0 for only the third time in franchise history. They will attempt to do so against the Detroit Lions on Monday Night Football. However, improving to 4-0 isn’t the only bit of franchise history that could be made.

Quietly, second year running back Zach Charbonnet actually leads the team in total touchdowns. He had a receiving one in Week 2, rushed for another against the Patriots, then added two more to topple the depleted Miami Dolphins. Four touchdowns in three games, not bad.

But what happens if he scores another – either rushing or receiving – in the Motor City? Well, he would etch his name into a unique page of Seahawks lore. Should Charbonnet find the end zone, he will become only the fourth player in franchise history to have a touchdown in each of the first four games. He would also be the first to do it since the legendary Marshawn Lynch did it during the 2014 season.

The 2014 season was a special one for Lynch and the Seahawks. Lynch bulldozed his way into the end zone 13 times that year, which was a career best. He also caught four receiving touchdowns as well.

So far, Charbonnet has been almost the exclusive ballcarrier in the absence of Kenneth Walker III. Even if Walker, who has been limited at practice this week, is able to suit up on Monday, it is almost certain Charbonnet will be featured extensively by Seattle. Considering how committed the team is to establishing the run and how dynamic the offense gets when they do so, Charbonnet will surely get some opportunities to reach this exclusive club.

10 Bills greats nominated for Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2025

10 Bills greats nominated for Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2025

The nominations for the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2025 were announced on social media Wednesday by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Of the 167 players nominated for the HOF, 10 Buffalo Bills players made the list: Larry Centers, Marshawn Lynch, Ruben Brown, Pat Williams, Cornelius Bennett, London Fletcher, Takeo Spikes, Troy Vincent, Gary Anderson, and Brian Moorman.

Some of the names most notably played for other franchises, but all made an impact for the Bills in some way. And, most of them have been nominated for many years without ever reaching football immortality.

Seeing a lot of them get into the HOF would be great, but a few names stand out as some that are more deserving.

Lynch, although he will most likely enter the HOF as a Seattle Seahawks running back, has a real shot to be a first-ballot selection.

Fletcher was selected as a semifinalist for the HOF in 2024, meaning he made it to the top-25 of finalists. The linebacker has not gotten the nod yet. His numbers in his career can be stacked up with just about anyone.

Moorman should get more love from the HOF committee. The punter was one of the best special teams players in the 2000s decade, making the All-Decade team while being a weapon for the Bills at punter. He was also a 1st Team All-Pro.

A couple of fun ones would be Cornelius Bennett and Larry Centers. Bennett was an integral part of the Bills’ defense in the early 90s which went to four consecutive Super Bowls. Centers, although he only played two years in Buffalo, would shine some light on the forgotten fullback position in the NFL. Centers led the Bills in receptions in 2001 with 80.

Here is the full list of the 167 nominees for the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2025.

First year eligible Marshawn Lynch one of 15 former Raiders among Hall of Fame nominees

Marshawn Lynch has been nominated for the Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility. He is one of 15 former Raiders to make the list

Each year around this time, the process for the following year’s Hall of Fame class begins. It starts with a long list of that year’s nominees.

That list was released this morning by the Pro Football Hall of Fame. It consists of 167 NFL greats. Among them are 15 former Raiders players, which includes Marshawn Lynch who has been nominated in his first year of eligibility.

Here is the full list of 15 former Raiders among the modern era nominees:

QB Rich Gannon
RBs Charlie Garner, Marshawn Lynch
WR’s Jordy Nelson, Andre Rison
OL Lincoln Kennedy (T), Steve Wisniewski (G)
DL La’Roi Glover (DT/NT), Chester McGlockton (DT), Justin Tuck (DE), Ted Washington (NT/DT)
LB’s NaVorro Bowman, Bill Romanowski
CB Eric Allen
P Shane Lechler

Marshawn spent two seasons with his hometown Oakland Raiders in 2017-18. He built his his Hall of Fame caliber career over his first eight seasons split between the Buffalo Bills and Seattle Seahawks.

His best years were in Seattle where Beast Mode made four straight Pro Bowls, was named an All Pro once and won a Super Bowl. And should have won a second had Pete Carroll had called for him to get the ball near the goal line instead of notoriously calling for Russell Wilson to throw it only to have it intercepted.

Lynch retired after his tenth season in 2015, but came out of retirement for the chance to suit up and play in front of his hometown fans. Thus adding another 1300 yards rushing and 12 touchdowns to his resume before retiring for good in 2019 at the age of 33.
