The Browns are working with a clean bill of health as they approach their Week 1 showdown with the Bengals

Welcome to game week! And for the Cleveland Browns, they enter Sunday’s matchup with a clean bill of health thus far as we get closer to game day. The biggest news of the day was the return of cornerback Denzel Ward to the practice field as he is now one step closer to clearing the concussion protocol and is on pace to play this Sunday.

The Bengals also enter the week with a clean bill of health as well, as quarterback Joe Burrow has given the green light that he will play in this Week 1 showdown between interstate rivals. The only player who did not practice for the Bengals on Wednesday was defensive end Joseph Ossai.

As we inch closer to the start of the regular season, here is the full injury report from Wednesday released by the Browns. Spoiler alert: It is good news as the only players who missed practice did so due to a scheduled veteran rest day.

Browns announce 6 number changes ahead of Week 1 matchup vs. Bengals

Number changes have been made for six players

The NFL regular season is finally upon us as the Cleveland Browns prepare to face their in-state rival Cincinnati Bengals this Sunday in Cleveland Browns Stadium as rookies Cedric Tillman and Dawand Jones get set for their debuts. The place is likely to be packed for one of the most anticipated Browns seasons since the return in 1999.

The Browns have added talent all over the roster heading into this season which should result in more wins. They are faced with a tough task as the AFC North has four teams that could fight for the players and that’s without talking about the non-division teams that have elite quarterbacks.

As normal several players have made number changes after roster cutdowns make more available. With a total of 90 players going into training camp, it can be difficult for faces added late or rookies to get the number they want for the 2023 season.

Here’s a look at six players who have recently changed their number before the matchup with Cincinnati.

Podcast: Breaking down the Browns initial 53-man roster and future changes

How does the Browns 53-man roster stack up?

The initial 53-man roster is here for your Cleveland Browns as the regular season draws closer and closer. Though there will be some changes after players are moved to IR and waiver claims are processed most of the roster is locked in.

What was the biggest surprise from this roster, the fact they kept 11 defensive backs or that they moved on from Michael Dunn? Of course, there’s reason to believe that Dunn and hopefully Maurice Hurst will return to the roster.

In this podcast, we discuss all of this and more looking at how we think each room is constructed and why this is the best Browns roster of our lifetime. We also talk about the kicker one more time in hopes that the trade for Dustin Hopkins finally brings some stability there for the team.

Podcast: Evaluating the Browns’ roster after completion of the preseason

How does the roster look heading into cuts on Tuesday?

The Cleveland Browns finished the preseason with a 1-2-1 record after they couldn’t overcome kicking woes in three of the games. The team has already begun making moves trading for Pierre Strong Jr. to help bolster the running back room, a move that makes a ton of sense. The starting defensive line has shown a ton of promise this preseason despite not playing their best player in Myles Garrett.

Though Cade York remains on the roster it would be crazy if the team went into the opener against the Bengals with York as the kicker. Overall the roster is pretty set with a ton of talent that should have fans excited.

Listen to all of these topics in more in this podcast as we evaluate this roster overall by clicking here.

WR Marquise Goodwin set for return from blood clot issue

The speedster is set to be cleared from the non-football injury list

The Cleveland Browns are set to get some speed back on the field as they work through their final 53-man roster cutdowns. In his press availability today, head coach Kevin Stefanski told the media that deep threat wideout Marquise Goodwin is set to return, cleared from the non-football injury list.

Goodwin, of course, was placed on the NFI list after he had trouble breathing due to blood clots in his lungs as a symptom of his sickle cell disease. The return of Goodwin, however, may muddy the waters for preseason standout Austin Watkins Jr.

Browns release 6 inactive, 2 doubtful players against the Chiefs

The Browns have released their inactives list heading into their preseason finale matchup against the Chiefs.

The Cleveland Browns are now just hours away from their preseason finale against the Kansas City Chiefs. This is the last opportunity for a handful of players to make their mark to show they deserve a spot on the final 53-man roster. While running back Jerome Ford is not among those fighting for a roster spot, he is among those not playing in this one.

All-in-all, the Browns announced six would not play and two others are doubtful in this matchup. Here is the full injury report released by the Browns.

Browns announce injury updates on the heels of Pro Football Hall of Fame Game

The Browns have provided an injury update on the heels of the Pro Football Hall of Fame Game.

The Cleveland Browns will suit up for the first time in 2023 as they get set to partake in the Pro Football Hall of Fame Game against the New York Jets. With that game just one day out, the team has provided an injury update on several players on the roster.

Here are those updates provided as we get set for our first live action of the 2023 season.

WR Marquise Goodwin will miss start of training camp with blood clots

We wish Goodwin a speedy recovery

Wide receiver Marquise Goodwin was one of four players who were put on the non-football injury list to start training camp by the Cleveland Browns. And now it has come out that he has been placed on the list due to some issues with blood clots in both his lungs and his legs (according to Camryn Justice)

Goodwin was diagnosed with sickle cell disease in 2013, and this is a symptom of it. As the Browns travel to Greenbriar, West Virginia, we wish Goodwin nothing but a speedy recovery and hopefully a return to the field soon.

Browns place four on non-football injury list ahead of training camp

The Browns have placed four on the non-football injury list.

Cleveland Browns football is finally back as the team has their first training camp practice in Greenbriar, West Virginia tomorrow. And while neither of the two linebackers coming off of a significant season-ending injury have been placed on a reserve list yet, wide receiver Marquise Goodwin and three others have been placed on the non-football injury list.

While Goodwin was placed on the non-football injury list with an illness, the other three were not disclosed. Here are the players who have been placed on the NFI list as training camp begins.

Veteran WR Marquise Goodwin named off-season workout standout

The Browns may have found a heck of a role player in deep threat Marquise Goodwin.

General manager Andrew Berry has added several key additions to the Cleveland Browns and around Deshaun Watson to make the passing attack potent. The trade for Elijah Moore stands out but it was the veteran speedster Marquise Goodwin that caught the attention of ESPN’s Jake Trotter in off-season workouts.

“The Browns made a couple of noteworthy moves to upgrade their receiving corps this offseason, trading for Elijah Moore and drafting Cedric Tillman in the third round. Yet another under-the-radar addition, the 32-year-old Goodwin, dominated Cleveland’s minicamp, flashing the downfield wheels that could make him an intriguing weapon for quarterback Deshaun Watson.”

Goodwin adds much-needed speed to the wide receiver room and isn’t showing any sign of lost speed. He has carved out a long NFL career for a reason, he can stretch the field vertically and make explosive plays and that’s exactly what the Browns have been missing.
