The Miami Marlins (10-27) and Los Angeles Dodgers (24-13) play the middle contest of a 3-game series Tuesday at Dodger Stadium (MLB Network). First pitch is scheduled for 10:10 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Marlins vs. Dodgers odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.
Season series: Dodgers lead 1-0; split last season 3-3
The Dodgers welcomed back RHP Walker Buehler in the series opener Monday, as he pitched for the first time in an MLB game since June 2022. He allowed 3 earned runs and 6 hits in 4 innings in a 77-pitch no-decision, giving way to the bullpen to clean things up. L.A. won 6-3 as -315 favorites as the Over (8.5) just came through.
The Dodgers have picked up 5 straight wins, including a 3-game sweep of the Atlanta Braves over the weekend. Los Angeles also has won 8 in a row against the NL East since a 6-4 loss at home against the New York Mets April 20. The Over is 2-1 in the past 3 games and 6-4 in the past 10 vs. NL East clubs.
The Marlins have dropped 3 of the past 4 games on the current 6-game road trip, splashing a little cold water on a 3-game series sweep of the Colorado Rockies in South Florida April 30-May 2. The Over is 3-0 in the past 3 games and 8-2 across the past 10 outings.

Marlins at Dodgers picks and predictions
Prediction
Dodgers 6, Marlins 3
Moneyline
The Dodgers (-300) are heavy favorites again in Game 2 of this series, and you can’t risk 3 times your potential return on the home team.
Remember when Yamamoto was tuned up in the Korea Series, and all of the Los Angeles fans were up in arms? He has arguably been one of the team’s top pitchers since that ugly debut, allowing 3 or fewer earned runs in each of his past 6 outings, including 3 straight quality starts.
AVOID.
Run line/Against the spread
The DODGERS -2.5 (+120) are worth a roll of the dice at this price point. Winning by 3 or more runs in an MLB game isn’t easy, but Los Angeles has the offense to put it on the Marlins +2.5 (-145).
We saw the Dodgers, even when the starting pitching wasn’t at its best Monday night, cobble together enough offense to get the job done on the run line.
Cabrera is a pitcher with straight gas, racking up plenty of strikeouts when he pitches. But he is also very wild and gets himself into trouble with walks. Look for the experience and high-powered L.A. offense to take advantage of his generosity.
Over/Under
OVER 7.5 (-110) is the lean, but go with a half-unit play at most.
The Over cashed in the series opener, just barely, and is 2-1 in the past 3 games for Dodger Blue.
For the Marlins, the total has gone high in 3 in a row, 4 of the past 5, and 8 of the previous 10 outings.
