Markus Golden’s contract one of best in NFL, per PFF

PFF ranked the 32 best contracts in the league. Golden’s is ranked 15th, as he is due only $2.25 million in 2022.

Arizona Cardinals outside linebacker Markus Golden led the team in sacks last season with 11 sacks. He did so on a bargain of a deal when he signed last offseason.

His deal is considered among the best in the NFL.

Pro Football Focus ranked the 32 best contracts in the league. Golden’s ranked 15th.

His two-year, $5 million deal is a steal for the Cardinals. Golden did earn an extra $1 million in bonuses for getting to 10 sacks and can earn up to another $2 million in 2022 in incentives in addition to his $2 million salary and $250,000 in per-game roster bonuses.

The Cardinals need him to again a double-digit sack guy in 2022. He is the only proven edge rusher on the roster as things currently stand.

With J.J. Watt earning a lot of money and Kyler Murray set to get a monster deal, Arizona needs contracts like Golden’s to work out.

6 key players who can deliver a Wild Card weekend underdog upset

The Raiders and Cardinals need strong performances from their secondary pass rushers.

The playoffs are here! Wild Card weekend is right around the corner and the teams that are underdogs are going to need excellent performances to upset their opponents and head to the second round of the playoffs.

While victory is going to be tough for these teams, they each have players that can help their causes with a big time performance on the biggest stage (so far) of the season.

Whether it’s a pass rusher or a cornerback or even an offensive linemen, some quality players will have a chance to make a name for themselves as their teams try to hoist the Lombardi Trophy.

WR A.J. Green, OLB Markus Golden have performance bonuses on the line in Week 18

Green and Golden have both earned $1 million each in performance incentives this season. Green could add another $500K and Golden another million in Week 18.

The Arizona Cardinals signed both wide receiver A.J. Green and linebacker Markus Golden to relatively low-paying contracts in free agency last offseason. The way they make up for it are performance bonuses.

Both have already hit some of those bonuses and can cash in with big performances in Week 18.

Let’s take a look at each player, what they have already earned and what is on the line on Sunday financially.

The information comes from Touchdown Wire’s Mark Schofield.

Cardinals activate C Rodney Hudson from COVID list, place 2 others on it

The Cardinals get back Hudson, who missed two games on the list, but lose Markus Golden and Sean Harlow, who got added to it the list.

The Arizona Cardinals get back a key player on offense back from the COVID list. However, they lose two others.

The team announced Monday that center Rodney Hudson, who missed two games on the COVID list, was activated. His return should help stabilize some things on the offensive line.

Head coach Kliff Kingsbury spoke of Hudson’s importance when he spoke with reporters Monday afternoon.

“He’s the security blanket for all of us, really,” he said. “The coaching staff, o-line, skill position players, he’s really the glue that’s made it all stick together. It’s a big deal to get him back.”

With a big game coming up on Sunday on the road against the Dallas Cowboys, having their field general on the offensive line will be critical.

However, they might be missing two players this weekend. According to the NFL transaction report, offensive lineman Sean Harlow and linebacker Markus Golden on the COVID list.

4 Cardinals the Colts must game plan for in Week 16

These Cardinals must be in the game plan for the Colts in Week 16.

The Indianapolis Colts are flying high as they head into the final three weeks of the season clinging to the top wild card seed. With a division title still in sight, the margin for error is very slim, and this week will be another test of how good this team truly is.

The Arizona Cardinals have many playmakers on both sides of the ball that can turn the tides of a game. While they have struggled as of late, make no mistake, this team can make a super bowl run come January.

Thankfully, the Indy’s secondary will not have to deal with DeAndre Hopkins who will miss the rest of the regular season with a knee injury.

Here are four Cardinals the Colts must game plan for in Week 16:

Cardinals players who could have big game vs. Rams

The Arizona Cardinals knew their Week 14 home contest against the Los Angeles Rams would be important. It is a divisional home game on national television against a team that has absolutely dominated them.

Having beaten the Rams on the road in Week 4, the Cardinals have the opportunity to sweep the season series. It will clinch a playoff spot, practically clinch the NFC West divisional title and keep them as the No. 1 seed in the NFC.

Now it feels like the stakes are even higher because the Rams fell victim to the pandemic and have five key players who have landed on the COVID list in the last few days. The Rams will be without starting right tackle Rob Havenstein, starting running back Darrell Henderson, starting tight end Tyler Higbee and two of their three top cornerbacks in Jalen Ramsey and Dont’e Deayon.

As a result, a few Cardinals players are in position to have big games with the absences.

Which players should we watch for potential big games?

Four Verts: Markus Golden and Unsung Heroes we’re thankful for in the 2021 NFL Season

Watch out, Ja’Whaun Bentley and Markus Golden are coming for you in your dreams.

The NFL season is rapidly approaching the end and this feels like a good time to bring some names to the forefront that might not be household names.

Every team needs those second-tier players that aren’t quite superstars, but are still effective players and have a huge role when it comes to winning games each week.

Here are a few “unsung” heroes that I’ve really enjoyed watching this season. Fans of the teams listed likely know how impactful these players have been, but the point of this is to bring attention to everyone just how much these guys have meant to their teams — with a little help from Sports Info Solutions.

These are a few non-household guys I’ve really loved watching this year.
