Mark Zuckerberg tore his ACL training for a competitive MMA fight (not likely against Elon Musk)

Mark Zuckerberg was training for a fight early next year.

For those hoping the fight between Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk will still happen at some point, don’t expect to see it anytime soon.

In a post shared to Instagram Saturday, Zuckerberg said he had surgery to replace a torn ACL suffered while sparring as part of his training for a competitive MMA match early next year.

It’s unclear who the Meta boss was preparing to fight, but he said the bout will now be delayed.

In August, it seemed like a cage match between Zuckerberg and Musk was finally coming together after a bunch of back and forth. Musk even offered details of a location, saying it would take place in Rome. However, a few days later, Zuckerberg called off the fight, claiming Musk wasn’t being serious.

“If Elon ever gets serious about a real date and official event, he knows how to reach me,” Zuckerberg said.

There hasn’t been much word on the matter since, so I doubt Zuckerberg was preparing to fight Musk. But whoever he was preparing to fight, they’ll have to wait a little longer.

Mark Zuckerberg says he tore ACL ‘while training for a competitive MMA fight’

Mark Zuckerberg has now experienced one of the harsh realities of MMA training, but intends to keep fighting.

MMA training has brought tech billionaire [autotag]Mark Zuckerberg[/autotag] face to face with one of its most brutal truths: injuries.

Zuckerberg, who has been training for and engaged in talks about competing in a real MMA fight, says he suffered a torn ACL while on the mats. Friday, Zuckerberg shared photos from his hospital bed after undergoing surgery. The Facebook founder was preparing for a fight to take place early in 2024, but will have to adjust the timeline for his potential MMA debut as he recovers from a serious injury.

“Tore my ACL sparring and just got out of surgery to replace it,” Zuckerberg wrote on Instagram. “Grateful for the doctors and team taking care of me. I was training for a competitive MMA fight early next year, but now that’s delayed a bit. Still looking forward to doing it after I recover. Thanks to everyone for the love and support.”

Zuckerberg, 39, has made his fighting intentions clear over the past year. He sat cageside at an event at the UFC Apex, while also hyping up a potential clash against fellow tech billionaire Elon Musk. The initial wave of talks of a bout against Musk fizzled, and Zuckerberg was in the process of finding a new opponent before the injury.

“Maybe next year. Not Elon, but someone,” Zuckerberg told The Verge in September about his potential MMA debut. “I want to keep competing, but I just need to find someone.”

Beyond witnessing fights up close as a fan, Zuckerberg has been putting real time in on the mats. In July, Zuckerberg posted a few photos from a training session with UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski and former middleweight champion Israel Adesanya.

Zuckerberg has also been honing his BJJ skills under the tutelage of Dave Camarillo, and recently was promoted to blue belt. He competed in his first tournament earlier this year, where he won first place in no-gi and second in gi at BJJ Tour Silicon Valley.

Dana White will never say never on Elon Musk vs. Mark Zuckerberg, but it’s ‘probably not’ happening

Dana White says Elon Musk vs. Mark Zuckerberg “would have been the biggest charity event ever held in history.”

UFC president [autotag]Dana White[/autotag] has changed his tune on [autotag]Elon Musk[/autotag] vs. [autotag]Mark Zuckerberg[/autotag].

White was willing to help the two most famous tech billionaires settle their grudge in a fight, but the fire seems to have been put out recently. Zuckerberg said he’s ready to move on, as he doesn’t think Musk is serious about fighting. White himself has now started to cast his doubt on the fight happening.

“I don’t know,” White said on “OutKick The Morning.” “I never say never, but probably not.”

A fight between the CEO of X, formerly Twitter, and the founder and CEO of Facebook and Instagram parent company Meta would have captured the world’s attention. The plan was to have the majority of the proceeds go to charity,, and that’s the part White liked the most.

“Listen, I like both guys,” White said. “One of the things that I try not to do is judge people – I don’t want to be judged by my politics. I’m a believer in what I believe in, and there’s certain things that I feel a certain way about, and I don’t judge people by theirs. I don’t know exactly where all those guys stand; I don’t get into that. How I judge people is how they are with me, and how we interact with each other.

“So, I like Mark a lot, and I like Elon. Let me tell you who would win in that fight would be whatever charities were picked to donate the money to. They would be the absolute winners, because I think that thing would do a billion dollars in revenue, and they wanted 90 percent of the money to go to charity. It would have been the biggest charity event ever held in history, especially for one night. It would have helped a lot of people.”

Mark Zuckerberg says ‘it’s time to move on,’ Elon Musk isn’t serious about fighting

Mark Zuckerberg is done trying to get Elon Musk to agree to fight.

[autotag]Mark Zuckerberg[/autotag] says he’s done trying to fight [autotag]Elon Musk[/autotag].

The potential fight between the two tech billionaires may have hit a dead end. Zuckerberg revealed on his newly launched platform Threads on Sunday there have been serious talks to make the bout happen, but Musk has yet to follow through on his end.

Zuckerberg, who competes in grappling, is set on fighting, but he doesn’t think Musk is.

“I think we can all agree Elon isn’t serious, and it’s time to move on,” Zuckerberg wrote. “I offered a real date. Dana White offered to make this a legit competition for charity. Elon won’t confirm a date, then says he needs surgery, and now asks to do a practice round in my backyard instead. If Elon ever gets serious about a real date and official event, he knows how to reach me. Otherwise, time to move on. I’m going to focus on competing with people who take the sport seriously.”

The potential fight between Musk and Zuckerberg came about after Zuckerberg accepted Musk’s challenge during a social media spat. While it seemed like nothing more than internet tough-guy talk, UFC president Dana White said the next day that both men were “dead serious” about meeting inside the cage and that he welcomed building a UFC pay-per-view event around a headliner of Musk vs. Zuckerberg.

Since, the two have traded shots back-and-forth on social media, with the latest development being that Zuckerberg is moving on from the idea of fighting Musk.

Elon Musk claims Mark Zuckerberg cage match is set, will take place in Rome

It’s on, says Elon Musk.

Do we really need to see this?

The answer is no. But according to Elon Musk, it’s happening.

That would be the cage match between the X (still calling it Twitter here) owner and Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg that’s been much-discussed over the past few months as we’ve seen Musk tweet about it and Zuck show off his muscles.

Per Musk on Friday, there will be a fight. It’ll be managed by their respective foundations. It’ll be livestreamed on Meta and X (Twitter). It’ll be in Rome. That’s all we’ve got so far as we await response from Zuckerberg.

Here you go:

Also, Musk tweeted this earlier in the week:

Mark Zuckerberg shows off ripped physique after training with Israel Adesanya, Alexander Volkanovski

It looks like Mark Zuckerberg is in shape – and has an answer for Elon Musk’s recent training session with Georges St-Pierre.

[autotag]Mark Zuckerberg[/autotag] has called in the cage-fighting experts.

Days after [autotag]Elon Musk[/autotag] and [autotag]Georges St-Pierre[/autotag] joined forces for a training session, Zuckerberg has received help from a pair of UFC champions.

In a series of photos posted Tuesday by UFC middleweight champion [autotag]Israel Adesanya[/autotag], Zuckerberg appears to have gotten in a training session with him and UFC featherweight champion [autotag]Alexander Volkanovski[/autotag], who just three days removed from a title defense at UFC 290.

The series of photos show the three men wearing training shorts and standing on mats; Zuckerberg with his wrists taped.

“No fugazi with Mark,” Adesanya wrote. “This is serious business.”

On Instagram, Zuckerberg commented, “It was an honor to train with you guys!”

Additional Instagram stories by Adesanya show Zuckerberg wakeboarding while a boat pulls him through the water.

It is unclear where exactly the get-together occurred. Zuckerberg and Volkanovski have previously worked together for a Metaverse virtual reality project.

Over the past year, Zuckerberg has continued to increasingly align himself amongst those in the MMA community. In addition to following almost exclusively MMA accounts on social media, Zuckerberg attended an event with his wife, Priscilla Chan, at the UFC Apex in October. The Facebook founder has also competed in Brazilian jiu-jitsu competitions.

In recent weeks, an online feud between Zuckerberg and Tesla founder Musk resulted in both billionaires indicating they’d like to face each other in an MMA bout. UFC president Dana White has repeatedly said he spoke to both men and that they are serious about a fight. The UFC has even printed “Musk vs. Zuckerberg” apparel, which is being sold on their online store.

It’s unclear where or how a fight between the two would actually take place, but White continues to hint it’s quite possible.

“Whoever says no, every other state and country will say yes,” White said. “It’s a billion dollars in revenue, this fight.”

Kevin Durant teased that he is on Threads with a ‘burner’ account and now we have to find him

Kevin Durant is the most interesting social media user in the NBA.

Without a doubt in my mind, Phoenix Suns superstar Kevin Durant is the most interesting social media user in the NBA.

He joins Twitter Spaces just to dunk on his haters and he has used social media to own his critics over and over again. Sometimes, he uses “burner” accounts so he doesn’t reveal his true identity, which is a smart way for him to clap back without causing too much drama.

Now that seemingly everyone is flocking from Twitter to Threads, the Meta-owned competitor from Mark Zuckerberg built to rival Elon Musk’s failing social media platform, Durant says he has joined the party as well.

But according to Durant, it might not be easy to find him right away.

Although most users on Threads are just transferring their Instagram usernames, the two-time NBA Finals MVP says that he is going to start off using a burner account.

He has also issued us a challenge: Come find him. I’m not sure exactly how to start my search process, but I can assure you this: If he uses Threads any way like how he uses Twitter, the payoff will be worth it.

Logan Paul offers to fight Paddy Pimblett for free on conceptual Elon Musk vs. Mark Zuckerberg UFC card

If tech billionaires Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg acutally fight in the UFC, Logan Paul wants to fight Paddy Pimblett on the undercard.

If a battle of the billionaires between [autotag]Elon Musk[/autotag] and Mark [autotag]Zuckerberg[/autotag] actually comes to fruition in the UFC, [autotag]Logan Paul[/autotag] wants to make his MMA debut at the event.

Musk and Zuckerberg have been teasing a potential fight in the octagon, which has caught the eye of UFC president [autotag]Dana White[/autotag], who is all-in on promoting the matchup. Paul, who has boxed professionally in the past and is a current WWE Superstar, has shown interest in MMA competition. If the two tech giants do battle in the cage, Paul says he wants to make his debut on the undercard, and won’t look to profit from his fight purse.

“I’ll be honest, I pitched it,” Paul said on his podcast, “IMPAULSIVE.” “I pitched it internally, I pitched it to the executives that be. If Elon Musk and Zuckerberg fight, I will do my UFC debut on the undercard, for free. I’ll fight for free, for charity.”

Beyond just offering his services for charity on what would be one of the biggest fighting spectacles in history, Paul has already done the matchmaking too.

“You know who I want to fight actually, because that b*tch ass Andrew Tate won’t fight me? Give me Paddy Pimblett,” Paul said. “Give me Paddy the Baddy.”

[lawrence-related id=2656794,2655969,2654586]

For Paul’s latest pair of boxing bouts, a pro outing against KSI and an exhibition against Floyd Mayweather, he weighed in at 200 and 189.5 pounds respectively – both significantly higher than the 155-pound class in which Pimblett competes. However, Paul is aware of Pimblett’s tendency to gain weight when he’s not preparing for a fight, which he believes justifies the matchup.

“In the offseason, that boy looks like a blimp, and he’ll come up to my weight class and I’ll wallop him,” Paul said. “He’s too small when he cuts weight. When he doesn’t cut weight, he’s a f*cking horseshoe.”

While discussing the billionaire matchup with his podcast co-hosts, Paul agreed that the fight between Musk and Zuckerberg is unlikely to happen. But if the tech giants and the UFC were to see it through, Paul believes there would need to be more than one drawing interest.

“They’re going to need to stack the undercard,” Paul said. “That’s why I’m throwing my at in because being honest with you, no offense to these boys, it’s going to be pathetic. That fight will be pathetic. Highly entertaining, but come on.”

Sean O’Malley split on Mark Zuckerberg vs. Elon Musk: ‘Pathetic,’ but ‘cool because of how rich they are’

Sean O’Malley explains why he’s got mixed feelings on a potential Mark Zuckerberg vs. Elon Musk fight.

[autotag]Sean O’Malley[/autotag] is neither sold nor out of the idea of a potential fight between tech titans [autotag]Mark Zuckerberg[/autotag] and [autotag]Elon Musk[/autotag].

The UFC bantamweight has mixed feelings about the much talked bout fight that recently became a thing in the MMA community after Zuckerberg and Musk went after each other on social media and both said they were down to fight in a “cage match.”

Like many, O’Malley thinks it’ll be a terrible fight, but like others, he also thinks there’s something to it – especially given their pockets.

“I would watch it, but I don’t really know,” O’Malley said on his YouTube channel. “I feel like it’s super hyped up, and it’s going to be pathetic. It’s going to be two f*cking white dudes that are not athletic at all. It’s going to be two math students at a high school throwing down. It’s cool because of how rich they are. I don’t know. I would definitely watch it, but I’m not super, super hyped for it.”

Someone that has been super hyped bout it in the MMA community is none other than UFC president Dana White. He’s gone well out of his way to express his desire to promote the fight and even made a t-shirt now being sold to the public by the UFC.

O’Malley thinks on White’s case, it’s a different story and he should be all in. Either way, “Suga” doesn’t think the fight will actually go down.

“That’s different,” O’Malley said. “That level of entertainment. I don’t know. The press conference would be cool. Maybe I’ll get more excited if it actually gets announced, but I don’t think it’s actually going to happen.”

Jon Jones, Georges St-Pierre, dozens of others in the MMA community weigh in on a potential Elon Musk vs. Mark Zuckerberg fight.

Elon Musk vs. Mark Zuckerberg may or may not ever actually throw down inside a cage, but a proposed fight between the two caused quite a stir on social media over the past week.

After Musk said he would fight him, Zuckerberg pulled a Khabib Nurmagomedov with a simple “send me location” line on Instagram. As the hype grew, Musk specified he wants a “cage match” against Zuckerberg in Las Vegas.

Since the buzz surrounding a battle between the Meta and Twitter CEOs came to be, UFC president Dana White said in multiple interviews over the past week that he’s held conversations with both Musk and Zuckerberg about making the fight happen.

As the hype built, numerous MMA fighters and personalities chimed in on a “Musk vs. Zuck” battle. Some even took sides. Scroll below to see what the MMA community thinks of a potential social media tycoon fistfight.
