Four-star cornerback recruit Marcellus Barnes decides where he will play college football

Four-star defensive back recruit Marcellus Barnes has committed to the Syracuse Orange over the Georgia Bulldogs and Ole Miss Rebels. Barnes is a member of the class of 2024. Barnes’ commitment to Syracuse is a huge recruiting win for the Orange.

Barnes decommitted from the Virginia Tech Hokies in November 2023. Barnes was previously projected to commit to the Georgia Bulldogs, per 247Sports.

Barnes is the No. 334 recruit in country and the No. 8 recruit in Tennessee. Barnes plays high school football for the McCallie School in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Barnes is the No. 24 cornerback in the nation. The 6-foot-1, 170-pound athlete also plays wide receiver in addition to defensive back.

Georgia offered the McCallie School star in March 2023. Barnes is an great student with a 4.1 GPA. He runs track and has excellent speed.

The four-star cornerback announced his commitment to Syracuse at the All-American Bowl.

Three-star class of 2024 defensive back recruit Marcellus Barnes has decommitted from the Virginia Tech Hokies. Barnes is now projected to commit to the Georgia Bulldogs, per 247Sports.

Barnes is the No. 471 recruit in country and the No. 10 recruit in Tennessee. Barnes plays high school football for the McCallie School in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Barnes is the No. 38 cornerback in the nation. The 6-foot-1, 170-pound athlete also plays wide receiver in addition to defensive back.

Georgia offered the McCallie School standout in March 2023. Barnes is an great student with a 4.1 GPA. The former Virginia Tech commit runs track and has excellent speed.

Barnes is the he No. 64 athlete nationally and the No. 17 recruit in Tennessee, per 247Sports.

Virginia Tech is 5-6 this season and has the nation’s No. 44 recruiting class.

Georgia football has the nation’s No. 1 recruiting class. The Bulldogs have 28 commitments in the class of 2024. Georgia defensive backs coach Fran Brown has helped the Bulldogs add commitments from three cornerbacks, including five-star Ellis Robinson IV.

Something that was rumored when Michigan State football parted ways with general manager Saeed Khalif last month, was that he was too focused on top end talent without having a full board of quality 3-stars the program could also go after as the foundation of their recruiting classes.

On Wednesday, the Spartans offered a very strong, 3-star, versatile athlete in Marcellus Barnes Jr., the exact type of guy the Spartans will be wanting to add to flesh out their recruiting classes.

The Georgia Bulldogs have offered a scholarship to three-star athlete Marcellus Barnes.

The Georgia Bulldogs have offered a scholarship to McCallie School standout Marcellus Barnes. Barnes is ranked as a three-star recruit and is a member of the class of 2024.

The three-star prospect plays high school football for McCallie School in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The 6-foot-2, 170-pound athlete primarily plays wide receiver and defensive back.

The three-star athlete has received scholarship offers from programs like  Charlotte, Virginia, Wake Forest, Liberty, and Tulane over the past several weeks. Marcellus Barnes is an excellent student with a 4.1 GPA.

The McCallie star has checked out Vanderbilt and Notre Dame. Marcellus Barnes is ranked as the No. 609 recruit in the class of 2024. He’s the No. 64 athlete and the No. 17 recruit in Tennessee, per 247Sports.
