Alabama offers 2024 CB Marcelles Williams

2024 Marcelles Williams already has over 30 offers and recently added another one from Alabama.

The Alabama coaching staff has been recruiting the west coast heavily in recent years. Last week, the Tide offered 2024 cornerback Marcelles Williams.

Williams plays for St. John Bosco High School in Bellflower, California. During his junior season, he tallied 46 tackles and two interceptions.

Marcelles has two older brothers that both play college ball. Max plays defensive back at USC while Macen plays defensive back at Arizona State.

USC is the favorite to land Williams at 48.8% likelihood, according to On3’s RPM. He has taken six visits to USC.

Alabama will likely look to have Williams on campus for Junior Day or a summer camp, which will help the Tide better evaluate the California native.

Auburn offers one of top corners in 2024 class

Auburn has offered 4-star cornerback Marcelles Williams in the 2024 recruiting class.

Auburn extended an offer to 4-star cornerback Marcelles Williams on Sunday. He is one of the top cornerbacks in the 2024 recruiting class and already has quite an impressive offer list.

The native from Bellflower, California, has offers from programs across the country, including USC, Auburn, Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado, and more.

He was a member of the impressive group of recruits that visited Auburn this weekend. Williams is still filling out his frame but already has impressive cover skills and instincts. Playing in the secondary is a family tradition as his older brothers Max and Macen play in the secondary for USC and Arizona State, respectively.

Despite his extensive ties to the West Coast, he has voiced his comfort in leaving that part of the country to play college football. Auburn will look to take advantage of that and land the talented cornerback.

Sooners offer trio of top-100 2024 defensive prospects from California

While the Sooners finalize their ’22 recruiting class, they’ve ventured out west to offer 3 top-100 players from St. John Bosco in California.

The Oklahoma Sooners are putting the finishing touches on their 2022 recruiting class. And while they look to close out the cycle with a bang, the Sooners are looking ahead to 2023 and 2024 as well. They got a commitment from the top quarterback in the state of Texas on Monday in Jackson Arnold.

Brent Venables and his coaching staff have been on the road looking to open up new recruiting grounds in Texas and California.

On Tuesday, Venables and his staff were in California visiting St. John Bosco and they made several offers while they were there.

The Sooners offered safety Peyton Woodyard, cornerback Marcelles Williams, and linebacker Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa. Each player is considered a four-star defender early in the 2024 cycle by 247Sports for St. John Bosco.

Woodyard is currently the No. 20 player in the 2024 class and the No. 2 safety prospect. Williams is considered the No. 70 player and No. 8 cornerback in the class. Viliamu-Asa is ranked No. 10 in the country, is the No. 2 linebacker in the country, and is 247Sports No. 1 player in the state of California.

Each of these prospects is a top 100 player in the class and ranks within the top 10 in the state of California.

Brent Venables’ presence with the Oklahoma Sooners has given them inroads into Florida recruiting from his time at Clemson. He’s also been successful in recruiting in Texas in his short time in Norman. Now he’s making his way out west to keep Oklahoma’s footprint in the state of California strong as well.

With his defensive chops and the eventual move to the SEC, Venables has a strong hand to play as he ventures into Pac-12 country.
