WATCH: Former Longhorn Lil’Jordan Humphrey scores first NFL touchdown

Late in the game between the New Orleans Saints and Kansas City Chiefs, former Longhorn Lil’Jordan Humphrey catches his first touchdown pass

It has been an up and down road for Lil’Jordan Humphrey since he left the Forty Acres for the NFL. He started out the season on the practice squad but found himself on the active roster for the New Orleans Saints game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Late in the fourth quarter with time running out on the Saints, quarterback Drew Brees found the former Longhorns wide receiver for his first-ever NFL touchdown reception to get within four of the defending Super Bowl champions.

Prior to this game, Humphrey had been targeted just one in five career games. Now he can say that he caught a touchdown pass from a future Hall of Fame quarterback in Drew Brees.

Humphrey caught two of his four targets on the day for 29 yards and the touchdown score. His 17-yard scoring grab was the longest of his career and on the day. Hopefully this provides a positive first step for the second-year wide receiver.

The Saints would end up falling short 32-29 to the Saints.
