The UNC football program resumes Spring practice this week including hosting an open practice on Saturday for fans to attend. As Mack Brown gets his team ready for the upcoming season, the head coach met the media to break down the latest on the team.
And right away, Brown had some bad news.
Brown announced that sophomore edge rusher Malaki Hamrick will miss the 2023 season after suffering a non-contact injury in practice. The injury is a lower-body injury and will require surgery per Brown.
The injury is a tough one for Hamrick who was expected to have a role as an edge rusher on Gene Chizik’s defense.
