As for a few takeaways, it appears the Jags’ front seven on defense will be a strength of the team. Yannick Ngakoue is set to be the highest-rated player on defense with an 83, while Joe Schobert (82), Myles Jack (81), and Josh Allen (81) aren’t too far behind. Simply put, this is an indication that players who use the Jags could make things tough at the line of scrimmage if utilized right.

On offense, the strength will obviously be running the ball. As mentioned Linder has the top grade on the roster, while Leonard Fournette and Andrew Norwell came in with the second-best offensive grades (83).

As for the most popular player on the team, Gardner Minshew, fans don’t seem too thrilled about his 70 overall rating. However, he’ll have two of the highest graded weapons on the team to throw to in D.J. Chark Jr. (81) and Dede Westbrook (79).

As for the team’s overall rating, Madden School has the Jags down with a 78 team rating. The offense was given a rating of 79 and the defense came in with a 77.

Jags’ C.J. Henderson, Lions’ Jeff Okudah land same “Madden NFL 20” rating

Despite Jeff Okudah craving the top-5 picks, he and C.J. Henderson will share the same “Madden NFL 20” ratings as rookies.

In just a few weeks, “Madden NFL 20” will be hitting the shelves and NFL fans alike will get to see their favorite players in Electronic Arts updated edition of the renowned series. And while the Jacksonville Jaguars’ full roster ratings haven’t been revealed, we found out the ratings of rookies Laviska Shenault Jr., Collin Johnson, and Jake Luton last week.

We can now officially add the Jags first selection of April’s draft to the mix, too, as it was revealed that both cornerbacks C.J. Henderson and Jeff Okudah were tied for the highest grades of any rookies at their position with a 76.

This is a little surprising as many expected Okudah to be rated a point or two higher than Henderson. However, it does indicate that Electronic Arts view them equally, though we don’t know their attribute ratings.

Heading into the draft, many pundits viewed Okudah as an elite prospect, however, some viewed Henderson as the better athlete. NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah was amongst them, as he explained why to Jags Wire and the media back before April before the draft.

“Well, I think there’s a real possibility,” Jeremiah said. “He ended up as my 21st player, but he’s my second corner, and you’re talking about a premier position that everybody is trying to fill at the corner position. That’s not a terrible reach if he were to be the ninth pick, and he’s got all the athletic ability in the world. He tested unbelievably well. He’s fluid and smooth.

My issues with him, why I see the difference between him and Okudah. He’s a better athlete than Okudah, but Okudah is a better football player. Okudah is tougher, Okudah tackles better. He finds and plays the football a little bit better.”

As for how Henderson and Okudah felt about their ratings, lets just say they didn’t seem all that impressed.

For those wanting a copy of the game, it will be out on August 2, though preorders are currently being taken by your local electronics stores.

WATCH: First look at Chiefs RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire on ‘Madden NFL 20’

A sneak peek at what Kansas City Chiefs RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire will look like in “Madden NFL 20.”

[sendtonews_embed video_id=”CNgClNoft2-815268-7498″]

Kansas City Chiefs RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire won’t take the field for the team for a few more months, but that won’t stop EA Sports from giving us a little preview of what that might look like.

The folks behind “Madden NFL 20” have released first look videos for a number of the top rookies from the 2020 NFL Draft. You can watch their video for Edwards-Helaire at the top of the page. It features Edwards-Helaire donning the No. 25 jersey, working in the passing game, breaking tackles and scoring touchdowns. If we’re nitpicking, the character model probably needs a bit of work, but the video game isn’t exactly known for realistic character models.

Edwards-Helaire won’t officially be available in “Madden NFL 20” until the new roster update is released around the time the next iteration of the game launches. You can, however, create your own roster with Edwards-Helaire or download a community roster file that includes the 2020 draft class.

Broncos quarterback Drew Lock and running back Melvin Gordon have been selected to participate in a ‘Madden’ video game tournament.

Denver Broncos quarterback Drew Lock and running back Melvin Gordon are set to participate in a celebrity Madden tournament, according to a bracket posted on Instagram by MMA fighter Chris Weidman.

A closer Madden look at Tom Brady as the new Bucs QB

It’s still hard to picture Tom Brady in a Bucs jersey instead of a Pats jersey. Fortunately, the people over at ‘Madden’ have you covered.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and their fans may still be pinching themselves at the realization that future Hall of Fame quarterback Tom Brady is now a member of their team.

The six-time Super Bowl champion will look to return the Bucs to the postseason for the first time since 2007, and, hopefully, get them back to the Super Bowl, which just so happens to be at Raymond James Stadium next year (Super Bowl LV).

The people over at Madden NFL 20 have given us a look at Brady doing his thing in a new Bucs uniform, but here’s another clip for you that’s a little more up close and personal.

Take a look.

The good news? We won’t have to see Brady wearing those ridiculous alarm clock numbers next season, as the team is set to unveil their new uniforms next month. Based on the reactions of players who have seen the new threads, we should be in for a treat.

Iconic play from Chiefs’ Super Bowl LIV win coming to ‘Madden NFL 20’

The play that helped win the Super Bowl is coming to Madden NFL 20.

The Kansas City Chiefs rewrote franchise history with their Super Bowl LIV win over the San Francisco 49ers.

Previously, had you asked anyone the most iconic play in franchise history, the answer would be 65 Toss Power Trap from Hank Stram and Super Bowl IV. Now, with another championship under their belt, the Chiefs have a new iconic play to go with it. That play is called 2-3 Jet Chip Wasp and it’s the play that got the comeback started for Kansas City in the Super Bowl.

It’s the fourth quarter, third-and-15 and the Chiefs remained down 10 points. With the game on the line, Patrick Mahomes asks offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy if the protection can hold up for “Wasp.”

The protection held up and Wasp was extremely successful giving the Chiefs their longest play of the day, a 44-yard reception from WR Tyreek Hill. This play has become a favorite so quickly that Hill even asked the developers for “Madden NFL 20” to put the play into the Chiefs’ playbook.

Soon, fans throughout the NFL will have a chance to use the play that helped spark the Chiefs to their first Super Bowl victory in 50 years. Jet Chip Wasp will be coming to Madden in a future title update. Perhaps they’ll even include some of the other iconic plays from Super Bowl LIV too.

Saints announce uniform combination for Week 12 vs. Panthers

The New Orleans Saints will wear their black home jerseys and matching black pants in their Week 12 game against the Carolina Panthers.

[jwplayer WU2Y8Ngc]

The New Orleans Saints will be wearing black jerseys with matching black pants during their Week 12 game with the Carolina Panthers, the team revealed in a post from their official Twitter account. The Saints announced this week’s uniform combination with a video clip from Madden NFL 20 featuring wide receiver Michael Thomas, quarterback Drew Brees, and defensive end Cameron Jordan.

This black-on-black look has steadily increased in popularity for the Saints in recent years, so much so that it’s become their most-popular look since the 2017 season and earned a 14-5 record (going back to 2006, New Orleans’ record in this combination is 36-26).

For the curious and superstitious, here’s the win/loss record for each of the different uniform combinations the Saints have worn since Sean Payton was hired to coach the team in 2006. In the interest of full accountability, it’s worth noting that the Saints also wore hideous alternate gold jerseys during a 2002 game with the Minnesota Vikings, which they lost 32-31. Those jerseys haven’t been seen since, and were presumably burned.

  • White jerseys, white pants: 3-0 (1.000)
  • Color Rush alternates: 5-2 (.714)
  • Black and Gold throwbacks: 2-1 (.667)
  • Black jerseys, gold pants: 23-13 (.639)
  • White jerseys, black pants: 38-25 (.603)
  • Black jerseys, black pants: 39-26 (.600)
  • White jerseys, gold pants: 31-24 (.564)
