Chicago Bulls all-time roster: See which legends made the cut

In honor of the NBA’s 75th anniversary, we present the best rosters in Bulls history.

As part of celebrating their 75th anniversary, the NBA is releasing a list of the greatest 75 players of all-time, which they’re calling NBA 75.

In honor of NBA 75, we have put together a similar list — the Chicago Bulls all-time roster. The roster is made up of the most important 15 players and three coaches in Bulls history, starting from 1966 to present day.

Now, for players like Dwyane Wade, who are undeniable Hall of Famers, don’t fit the bill of making the all-time roster for the Bulls with playing such small stints with the franchise.

NBA denied Lakers application to erase Luol Deng contract from books

The Los Angeles Lakers were denied an application to remove the contract of Luol Deng from their salary cap on Thursday.

The Los Angeles Lakers have been diligent over the past few weeks. They have worked the trade market to their advantage to get an upgrade at point guard and they’ve also used the free agency market to improve their team this offseason when many looked at their roster as a menagerie of bad assets. But one thing they weren’t able to do during this current free-agent period is to erase one of their worst free agent signings over the past four years.

The NBA informed the Lakers that they would not be forgiven for waiving and stretching the contract of Luol Deng, who signed a 4-year, $72 million contract with the Lakers in the summer of 2016. As a result, the Lakers will have to pay out the remainder of Deng’s contract through the 2022 season.

Few expected Deng’s salary to be relieved for the Lakers given the weird circumstances about the offer. Still, the Lakers will have to move on without any extra salary relief.

Lakers hoping to get Luol Deng’s old salary removed from team salary cap

Shams Charania of The Athletic reports the Lakers are trying to free up about $5 million in cap space by removing Luol Deng’s old deal.

The Los Angeles Lakers are already planning for the upcoming offseason and they are looking for creative ways to open up cap space to improve their team for a title defense.

News broke on Tuesday morning that the Lakers are looking to open up nearly $5 million in cap space by removing the salary they owe to former Laker Luol Deng off of their salary sheet. Shams Charania of The Athletic/Stadium reported the news on Tuesday, meaning Deng still gets the money he is owed by the Lakers but the Lakers will have an additional $5 million available to improve their roster heading into next season.

The Lakers are expected to have a big summer ahead, with Anthony Davis likely opting-out of the final year of his contract and signing a new deal with the Lakers this offseason. Starting guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope also has an opt-out clause that he plans to exercise as he is also looking to cash in on a longer-term deal following a great playoff run.
