Lourawls ‘Tum Tum’ Nairn Jr. joining Bowling Green staff as an assistant coach

After spending last season with Southern Utah, former Michigan State basketball point guard Lourawls ‘Tum Tum’ Nairn Jr. will follow former Southern Utah head coach Todd Simon to Bowling Green and join the Falcons’ staff as an assistant coach.

Before Southern Utah, Nairn spent time at Sunrise Christian Academy, the Phoenix Suns, and of course, Michigan State.

Lourawls ‘Tum-Tum’ Nairn is moving up the coaching ranks:

Lourawls ‘Tum Tum’ Nairn was known as a fan favorite point guard during his time donning the green and white. Now, fans can cheer for him as he climbs the coaching ranks.

Following his time playing, Nairn caught on with MSU as a graduate assistant, which he used to get an assistant coaching job with Southern Utah University.

When Southern Utah head coach Todd Simon took the job at Bowling Green, he called Nairn to come with him, which Nairn accepted.

Tum Tum Nairn is being given an opportunity to coach at the collegiate level

Tum Tum Nairn’s name was thrown around when Michigan State had an assistant coach vacancy, but he wasn’t chosen for the job. Nairn, a standout guard and captain at Michigan State from 2015-2018, is building a nice start to a coaching career. Fresh out of college, Nairn joined the Phoenix Suns in a player development role. He parlayed that into a role with Sunrise Christian Academy, one of the premiere schools in high school basketball.

Now, Nairn has been given an opportunity to coach at the collegiate level. Southern Utah head coach Todd Simon is hiring Nairn as an assistant coach on his staff.

Southern Utah competes in the Western Athletic Conference.

Tum Tum Nairn leaving Michigan State basketball to coach Sunrise Christian’s PostGrad basketball team

Lourawls ‘Tum Tum’ Nairn will leave Michigan State’s staff to become the head coach of the PostGrad team at Sunrise Christian Academy.

Tum Tum Nairn is heading back to his old high school stomping grounds. On Thursday, Sunrise Christian Academy announced that Lourawls ‘Tum Tum’ Nairn will become the Head Coach of the PostGrad Basketball team.

Tum Tum had spent the last two seasons on Izzo’s staff as a graduate manager.

Tum Tum played high school ball for Sunrise Christian Academy, which is also the home of current Spartan Malik Hall and future Spartan Jaden Akins.

Before joining Izzo’s staff, he worked in player development with the Phoenix Suns.
