Scout’s view: Notre Dame’s newest commit, wide receiver Logan Saldate

Don’t let the recruiting ranking fool you, the Irish got a good one!

[autotag]Notre Dame[/autotag] needed to find another wide receiver for their 2024 recruiting class and did that on Friday morning.

California’s [autotag]Logan Saldate[/autotag], flipped his commitment from Oregon State to the Irish, he needed just a day after getting his Irish offer to make up his mind.

No doubt that the Notre Dame coaching staff knew what they were getting, but looking at just his recruiting rankings you’d wonder why they’d go after a prospect ranked as the 961st overall prospect according to the 247Sports composite.

As we do with all the new Irish commits, it was time to break down Saldate’s film to see why Notre Dame accepted his verbal. After watching his junior highlight’s it was easy to see why it happened. Find out what I saw in watching Saldate’s film and what to expect out of the newest Irish commit.

Notre Dame flips Pac-12 wide receiver, adds to 2024 recruiting class

The Irish used their spatula early on Friday

Today was another instance where multiple crystal ball selections for [autotag]Notre Dame[/autotag] were correct.

The predictions for California wide receiver [autotag]Logan Saldate[/autotag] came in yesterday, and the 5-foot, 11-inch and 185 pound player flipped his commitment from Oregon State to Notre Dame on Friday morning.

Saldate is ranked as the 122nd receiver and 961st overall prospect according to the 247Sports composite. He becomes the 21st verbal commitment for the 2024 Irish football recruiting class. Saldate is the third true receiver in the class, although some of Notre Dame’s athlete commits could ultimately end up at the position.

Even though Saldate did not make an official visit to South Bend, he knew that’s where he wanted to play at the next level.

Notre Dame receives two crystal balls picks to flip a Pac-12 commit

The Irish have taken the spatula out

There is a big need at wide receiver in the 2024 [autotag]Notre Dame[/autotag] recruiting class and it looks like the Irish staff has found a new target.

Current Oregon State wide receiver commit [autotag]Logan Saldate[/autotag] made his verbal pledge to the Beavers at the end of May, but if the crystal ball predictions are correct, the Irish could be flipping the 5-foot, 11-inch and 185 pound pass catcher.

Just today, Saldate received two predictions to flip, Brandon Huffman and Tom Loy for Notre Dame believe it will happen. Their confidence level is high as well, both putting their number at seven. Saldate is ranked as the 122nd receiver and 961st overall prospect according to the 247Sports composite rankings.
