Wisconsin class of 2025 OL commit named Central Region Offensive Player of the Year

Wisconsin class of 2025 OL commit named Central Region Offensive Player of the Year

Wisconsin class of 2025 offensive line commit Logan Powell was named AIA 6A Conference Central Region Offensive Player of the Year on Tuesday.

Powell, who committed to Wisconsin on June 1, pocketed the honor following his final season at Brophy College Preparatory in Phoenix, Arizona. Given his position and inability to record traditional offensive statistics such as passing, receiving, or rushing yardage, the distinction is all the more impressive.

Brophy went 9-2 during the 2023-24 season and is considered the fifth-best high school team in Arizona, per MaxPreps.

Powell committed to Wisconsin over notable programs such as Alabama, Arizona State, Oklahoma and Tennessee this summer. In total, he received nearly 30 offers, and other suitors outside of his top batch included Michigan, Kansas State, Oregon, Texas A&M, USC and Washington State.

Powell is currently 247Sports’ No. 373 player in the class of 2025, No. 24 offensive tackle and No. 4 recruit from his home state of Arizona. He was Wisconsin’s third blue-chip commit in of the 2025 cohort and twelfth overall player to offer his commitment. That class is now up to 23 total commits and six blue-chip players.

Powell also possesses a background as a three-sport athlete in football, basketball and baseball. 247Sports’ national recruiting analyst Greg Biggins believes Powell a high-major Power 4 recruit with potential to land in the NFL.

BREAKING: Wisconsin lands commitment from 2025 four-star OT Logan Powell

The Wisconsin Badgers landed a commitment from class of 2025 four-star offensive tackle Logan Powell during his official visit on Saturday.

Powell’s announcement marks Luke Fickell’s first high-profile commitment of 2025. The Phoenix, Arizona native chose UW over Alabama, Arizona State, Oklahoma and Tennessee — four other programs that recently had cracked Powell’s top-five.

The Badgers received a 247Sports crystal ball prediction to land the 6-foot-4, 280-pound offensive tackle this morning. His commitment arrived just a few hours later.

Powell is 247Sports’ No. 232 player in the class of 2025, No. 25 offensive tackle and No. 2 recruit from his home state of Arizona. He is Wisconsin’s third blue-chip commit in the class.

Powell’s background as a three-sport athlete in football, basketball and baseball is a welcome sign for Wisconsin. Agility on the line and overall athleticism propel him into an NFL-caliber prospect, per 247Sports national recruiting analyst Greg Biggins.

A total of 14 other class of 2025 recruits made the trek to Madison alongside Powell for the program’s first weekend visit of the summer. Wisconsin also received a crystal ball prediction for 2025 WR Muizz Tounkara earlier this week.

Wisconsin’s class of 2025 currently ranks No. 19 in the nation with 12 players committed. After Powell’s commitment, it has two other offensive linemen thus far: four-star Michael Roeske and three-star Cam Clark.

Powell is 247Sports’ No. 232 player in the class of 2025, No. 25 offensive tackle and No. 2 recruit from his home state of Arizona. Of note, the service’s composite score only has Powell as a three-star recruit and the No. 525 overall player in the class.

The Badgers recently made Powell’s final five schools alongside Alabama, Arizona State, Oklahoma and Tennessee.

The crystal ball prediction was made while Powell is on campus for his official visit to Wisconsin. He is part of a star-studded group that the Badgers have during the first visit weekend of the year.

247Sports notes the top tackle also has visits scheduled to Alabama on June 14 and Arizona on June 21.

Luke Fickell is looking for his first big splash in the class of 2025. It could come in the form of Powell, who would choose the Badgers ahead of some of the nation’s top programs.

Wisconsin’s class of 2025 currently ranks No. 20 in the nation with 11 players committed. It has two offensive linemen thus far: four-star Michael Roeske and three-star Cam Clark.

Wisconsin football a finalist for a four-star 2025 offensive tackle

Four-star offensive lineman includes Wisconsin in top 5 programs

Wisconsin football made the top five schools for four-star class of 2025 offensive lineman Logan Powell on Tuesday. Powell is a junior at Brophy College Preparatory School in Phoenix, Arizona, and is still months away from a college decision

In total, the 6-foot-4, 280-pound athlete received 25 Division 1 offers — so Wisconsin being in his top five is certainly notable. Head coach Luke Fickell and new offensive line coach A.J. Blazek will need to compete with Alabama, Arizona State, Oklahoma and Tennessee to reel in Powell their 2025 class.

It should be noted that nine other Big Ten programs offered the offensive tackle, including Michigan, Oregon, USC and Washington.

In the class of 2025, Wisconsin has already secured the commitment of three-star offensive tackle Michael Roeske (Wautoma, WI), while Powell would become the highest-rated recruit of the group if he picks the Badgers.
